Heather M.

I needed affordable cremation services for the unfortunate passing of my mother. I found cremation by the sea online and I am grateful that I did. All of the packages are online and services they offer. Everything is done completely online, you basically just show up when everything is done to pick up the ashes of your loved one. Her ashes were provided to me in a neatly packaged cardboard box ( I forgot my urn at home). He explained the easiest/most efficient transfer process in detail. Being that everything is completely online, I was afraid it would be hard to get in touch with anyone or get questions answered etc. Definitely NOT the case. Michael the owner was always available to answer any questions I had and he kept me updated throughout the ENTIRE process. I couldn't be happier with the empathy and professionalism he provided . I would highly recommend this business to anyone with cremation needs and I will surely keep him in mind for the future.

Flower shadow box that they made for me to honor and remember my loss. Great people and staff. Thank you.

Cremation Services By The Sea gave me a comforting experience that I would recommend to anyone going through the motions of a loss. They were professional, caring and above all the most genuine when I needed peace of mind. Their online forms only took me minutes to complete. I worked directly with Michael who happens to be the Manager and he was a class act. I feel compelled to express my thanks and gratitude for getting me through a difficult time. I felt like I received the highest value of services that could be expected.

Miina was a life saver. She worked with the VA and I did not have to do anything. This was…read moreimportant because I had gotten sick and could not think due to the overwhelming grief. Miina walked me through everything and made this very difficult time more tolerable. I am so grateful for how nice, patient, empathetic, and caring Miina was with me and my needs. Miina arranged the priest for the service as well. At a time when I could not tolerate decisions or problem-solving, Miina stepped up and made sure to help me make my husband a nice service, memorial and military honors and burial. I would have been lost. All County is a very busy funeral home. Yet, Miina explained things like time-sensitive forms for death certificate and the importance of checking that the information I put on this form is correct or it will lead to long delays to have the death certificate corrected. She checked with me two times before she submitted the form I was responsible to fill out for the death certificate both by email and the phone so I understood the significance of checking every letter and number. I appreciated that she checked two times, knowing I was struggling to pay attention. This is a form filled out not by staff, but by me - the person burying the loved one. She made sure I understood that how I fill out this form is how it goes to relevant agencies. Miina always responded within the same day to emails or calls and she always let me know if she would not be available on certain days. At the end of the day, funeral services are a busy non-stop business. I always felt taken care of by Miina. Of course, I also did not expect things to be done for free - I requested services and expected to get the chosen services for stated fees which are provided to us. I see reviews of people being angry because they expected a business to provide a service for free or angry because the person filled out that death certificate data form wrong, so they blamed the staff when the staff does not fill out that form for the death certificate - the family member is responsible for that form. I get it. It is a hard time, things are hard to process, and it is really hard to pay attention. I also get that I am not the only person to which they are providing services. In addition, there are other agencies the funeral home has to work with and has absolutely, no power over how and when those agencies get things completed. Yet, with all the complications of working with multiple outside agencies to complete everything so we can get to the service - I felt looked after by kind, caring, and empathetic staff - always! I found Miina and All County to be honest, informative, helpful, up-front and really caring and compassionate. I found Miina to be thoughtful and conscientious in her efforts to make things easier for me. She was a helpful guide and I am so very grateful for her going above and beyond in ensuring the things I asked for were completed even when I was not capable of following through or following up. I recommend Miina and All County because they showed up for me! I do point out that the individual also has to manage expectations - in other words, unrealistic expectations always lead to disappointment. I was not disappointed in any way whatsoever. I expected to buy the services I requested for the prices printed. I was pleasantly surprised by a staff that goes above and beyond - they truly care and are sincere in their desire to do the best they can. Thank you Miina and thank you All County!

Upon completing the forms, digitally with digital signature , as the forms instructed. Upon emailing the completed forms, Jack called me to tell me "you need to do better" and argued with me on the digital signature provided, again as the form instructed. I was then instructed that the forms needed to be filled out in pen and ink, scanned and emailed. I was also instructed that the Broward Country release form needed to be sent to the address at the bottom of that from. Again, I complied with Jack's request. Jack then called me to yell at me for sending the form to Broward when my father was not yet deceased, which he already knew from our previous conversations. He then proceeded to accuse me of lying that I told him that my father was here and then there, deceased and then not deceased. The best party of my experince with this company and man came when he said they would refuse their serices to me and my family./ Beware as this man and the organization, he gets confused easily and then attempts to berate belittle and blame you when you follow his instructions.

Woodlawn Cemetery

I wanted to visit this cemetery as a continue my historical tour of West Palm Beach. Woodlawn is…read morethe final resting place of some of the pioneers of Palm Beach as well as a mass burial site for the 96 victims of the 1928 Okeechobee Hurricane. Over 10,000 people are buried here. The cemetery located on Dixie Hwy across from the Norton Museum is actually made up of three cemeteries, Woodlawn Cemetery, the Jewish Cemetery, and Woodlawn Cemetery North. It is thought the name for the cemetery was taken from the famous Woodlawn Cemetery in New York. Speaking of the Norton it used to be a 200 grave cemetery. It's bodies were supposed to be moved across the street to Woodlawn but not everyone made the trip before the museum was built. In 1904 Henry Flagler purchased 17 acres of a pineapple grove for the cemetery. He spent a lot of money on it and the cemetery was very beautiful with trees and landscaping and it actually became a tourist attraction for the society ladies of the day. Henry Flagler actually intended to be buried here in the center circle but changed his mind when two associates attempted to incorporate Palm Beach behind his back so he is instead buried in St. Augustine. There was also a place for his wife Mary Lily as long as she didn't remarry but she did so she isn't here either. In 1914 the cemetery was deeded to the city. In 1923 the Jewish Cemetery was all places were sold by 1953. Two more acres were purchased by the city in 1975 for the creation of the Woodlawn North Cemetery. This is the area where you will find the more recent burials. The cemetery used to have a confederate monument but it was vandalized after Dylann Roof committed the Charleston church shooting. It was permanently removed in 2017. The entrance to the cemetery used to have an iron gate with the inscription "That which is so universal as death must be a blessing." When Dixie Hwy was widened the gate was lost and it was replaced with a cement arch that bears the quote although no one has been able to determine where it came from. Some of the notable burial at this cemetery include Charlie W. Pierce who was a barefoot mailman and Joe Sakai who was one of the Japanese pineapple farmers in the colony that became Boca Raton. The cemetery is open to visitors from 7 am to 3 pm. It is very easy to drive around. I was primarily interested in the older graves from the 1800's. There are a lot of mausoleums and statues. In one part of the cemetery a tree has grown through the graves. In Woodland north I saw a statue on a grave that was wearing the glasses of the person who now lay in the grave below. It was so touching to see all of the loving tributes on that grave. The older graves are more neglected but still well tended compared to some of the other cemeteries I have visited. The mausoleums are not vandalized like the ones in Miami City Cemetery. Some of them have beautiful stained glass and benches. Surrounded by the tall buildings of downtown West Palm Beach this cemetery is a peaceful final resting places for the people who pioneered the area.
