My girlfriend and I probably spent nearly a thousand dollars at this place over the course of two years. Toward the end I did think it was odd that only one of the cold cases was being used to store gelato. At first the owner said the one case was broken. But month after month passed and it was always "broken." He would have 8-10 flavors available for sale and that was it. Doesn't seem like enough for a place that specializes in gelato. Anyway, one day we go to this place and there's a sign saying it's temporarily closed for some remodeling or whatever. Weeks go by and I occasionally drop by to check on the status. About two months go by and I visit only to find that it's no longer Capricci. Apparently, the owner sold his business. Instead of being just a gelato place, now it's an "everything-under-the-sun" place. You can order crepes, sandwiches, blah, blah, blah. I walked in for giggles and the guy working behind the counter just didn't seem like entrepreneur material. I walked out without ordering anything and will not be visiting that retail location ever again...unless something completely new and different moves in. Don't know what happened to the old Capricci and its owners but it really seems like they gave up on a good business. Really disappointing.

The store is set up really well, with an easy to find No Sugar Added section too! In the middle is a counter with truffles. There's also a cafe counter with coffee and gelato. They've got a ton of decor up and I remember service being quick. This time I placed an order online, and I received a free drink in exchange for this Yelp review, so I'd say their service is still pretty great! That combined with the fact that I picked up my food 30 minutes after I was notified that it was ready, and my crepe was still a nice temperature. The staff member waited until I was there to add my ice cream as well Made me feel less stressed out. I used to have a rule of going to Fyr & Ice for substantial asian fusion food, and J-Petal for desserts, but for the sake of food journalism (and wanting to try some of their new, cool-sounding specials) I might change that around this summer.

They take crepes and stuff them with either a savory or sweet filling and then press them so they adhere to a stick. The have two sizes, regular and large. I had forgotten my wallet so I lucked out that they accepted Apple Pay. I had been hard craving a cheeseburger all day so I ordered the cheeseburger crepe and my friend got a dessert one with Nutella and strawberries. It took over 15 minutes to get our food but we were given a beeper so we could sit back down and enjoy the music until our food was ready. When we finally got the crepe sticks mine was okay. I was not a fan of the rubbery burger in the middle but the cheese crepe part was good. It was kind of expensive at $13 for something I didn't love. Crepes on a stick is a cool idea and if I tried them again it would probably be the Snickers crepe.

I do have two small pieces of constructive feedback -- and I'm only sharing because they're simple fixes that would dramatically improve the experience: 1. The trash can situation. Right now it's a small pop-top lid that you have to physically push down with your hand. When customers are bussing their own dishes, it ends up feeling messy and unsanitary. A larger open-top trash can (or foot pedal style) would be such an easy upgrade and would instantly make the space feel cleaner. 2. The women's restroom needs a hook or small shelf for purses. There's currently nowhere to set anything down, and it didn't feel as clean as the dining area. Even a simple wall hook would completely change that experience. Again, sharing this because I think this place has so much potential and I'd absolutely come back. With a couple small tweaks, it would be a 10/10.

The tuna was perfect for me as it wasn't drowned in mayo, there was nice balance to it. We were given complimentary soups with our wraps. The soup of the day was sweet potato. It too was very fresh tasting and delicious. They also had banana bread at the register that I couldn't resist. The price was very fair for the quality of the food you get.
