I've been to Sloan's Ice Cream multiple times, and unfortunately the experience has been consistently frustrating. Every visit, I've stood at the counter without being acknowledged while staff focus on phone calls and filling delivery orders. On more than one occasion, I watched employees answer calls and process multiple orders before even making eye contact with me. It genuinely feels like in-store customers are an afterthought. I don't mind waiting when a place is busy, but not being acknowledged at all is a basic service miss. The ice cream may be good, but the customer experience really takes away from it. I hope they improve how they prioritize and engage with customers in the store. read more

It's quite expensive for ice cream, but I feel like it's pretty standard across all ice cream shops nowadays. However, you would expect better flavors considering they call themselves gourmet. I tried their carrot cake ice cream and it wasn't great. My husband ordered a scoop and it didn't really taste like much, just overtly sweet. The place was a tight squeeze and inside it seemed chaotic with children's toys but also eclectic coasters and other items for sale. What a disappointment. I stopped in after dinner for a sweet treat. I was shocked that a kids cup, one scoop, was almost $11. The quality and taste was nothing special and it was grossly overpriced. I got ice cream at another place and it was $10 for two large cups. I thought at the time that was expensive but I was very wrong. I will absolutely not be back. Sloan's has always been THAT gurl. Yes, they are PRICEY, but I think it's worth it! A few bucks more than carvel or Dairy Queen and you get QUALITY and ambiance. Here's my Karen review: I'm not at all a person that typically complains, but I am really upset after coming in tonight. I was in your Mizner Park store in Boca Raton, waiting to pay. My son and I were waiting to pay for a toy and a coaster. We stood by the register for so long, it must have been at least 10-15 minutes. People came in and kept walking in front of us, and it was extremely unclear to know where to stand in line to pay. I couldn't figure out who to talk to, and no one acknowledged us. My 4 year old son was getting antsy and I was trying my best to keep him near me while also waiting in the apparently nonexistent line, and then he knocked in to a rack of stuffy snakes, which knocked over some glass bottles of soda in a display. Thankfully, a patron grabbed my son and ensured that he didn't get cut, and all a sudden, there were 4-5 employees there to clean up. The girl at the register finally acknowledged us just in time to tell me that we owed $51 for the three snakes. I know my son was being a little wild and I'm so embarrassed that he wasn't by my side the whole time, but it was a total mess in there and it was really kind of crappy that we were ignored for so long, and ended up with three (gift wrapped) snakes we never wanted. read more

Disgustingly dirty--shameful for the prices they charge. Sloan's in Mizner Park should be embarrassed. For what they charge, someone should be out there cleaning every 10 to 20 minutes. The tables? A couple of weeks ago, my family ordered two cups of ice cream from this location. When we got home, both orders were completely incorrect. I called the store immediately and spoke with an employee named Carla. She told me that on our next visit, the ice cream would be replaced and to let the staff know that I had spoken with her. We returned to the store today expecting this to be honored. The manager on duty, Bri, refused to replace the ice cream. She attempted to call Carla,who stated she did not recall the prior conversation, but does remember an issue a couple of weeks back. Despite this, no effort was made to resolve the situation or accommodate what had been promised. Because my children were present and already excited, I felt pressured to pay for the ice cream a second time. More concerning, during this interaction, Bri made a comment referring to us as "cheap." This comment was inappropriate and unacceptable in any customer service setting. I am not sure what was meant by this, but it made the situation significantly worse and left us feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. This entire experience was disappointing and embarrassing, especially given that it involved children and a previously acknowledged store mistake. I am requesting that this issue be reviewed by corporate management and that appropriate steps be taken to address both the customer service failure and the comment that was made. read more

I have to say this location is so tiny it's really uncomfortable to wait in line with everyone smushed into such a small. I wish they had a better set up for taking peoples orders. When we finally got to the counter the staff was friendly and got us our ice cream. The ice cream is rich and creamy and very good. Just wish they designed the space better. read more

Sloans is, by any means, mediocre. There is no other way to put it. The store itself is lovely, decorated to a T. The bright colored walls and fun decor creates a unique atmosphere that especially appeals to young children. The Sloans workers are always cheery and bake, shake, and make your order well. The aroma of Sloans hits you as you enter, while nauseating, it is a yummy scent. I find that Sloans ice cream is normal, nothing special, just VERY overpriced - one small scoop is around 7$!!! Their other treats (donuts, waffles, sundaes etc.) are epic! My kiddos love them, my wallet does not. I think you should test out Sloans and see for yourself, but be warned of the dangerous costs! read more

I will never go anywhere else for a sweet treat ever again!! I came in with my autistic daughter which is always a task to say the least. She can be an out of control and usually i get poor service other places due to her screaming and running amok. But everyone behind the counter only greeted us with genuine smiles and the friendliest of service. They were calm and patient with us, they let her try all the flavors she was interested in. My serves name was Brandy and let me tell you she was a DELIGHT! She was so gentle and caring with my daughter. At one point my daughter picked up and toy and i told her we weren't going to get it and she threw a fit and Brandy saw i was embarrassed from my daughters out burst and came over and told my daughter that she would be more than glad to keep the toy on hold until they come back next time amd that she would take great care of the stuffed animal until she picked it up and it worked! Crisis averted! Kindness like that isn't something i come across often and just from this experience you have a customer for life! She also dropped her cone and an employee came right over to clean it up with a smile, instead of being annoyed and assured my crying daughter it happens all the time. I'm pretty sure it was a young girl with a blue hat. Whoever is doing the hiring at this place is doing a fantastic job. I've never experienced such genuine kindness. It to mention the place was packed! They took their time with each customer as if they were the only ones in the store.! I have been to Sloan's a few times over the years, partly because my Gal gave me a gift card for there before. That was very sweet(yup, literally). I stopped in earlier this week ,as I was leaving Mizner for home. It was a Thursday, Mizner was full of people actually for a weekday. But i figured fate wanted me to stop in as there was no one in Sloan's. There was 3 people working that day and one guy stepped up quick asking what I would like. It's the type of job that it seems like you can have either someone who doesn't want to be working or will be helpful and nice. Luckily I got the later as he was quick to get my scoops ring things up. I had picked one flavor and asked him to put whatever Peanut Butter ice cream they had on top. before we rang out I grabbed a chocolaty cookie too. Why not right? It was a couple bucks more than you might expect, but it is a ice cream shop in Mizner. when I got home I enjoyed an excellent 2 scoop. 2 scoops to fate, who led me to a great ice cream stop. read more

I'm a HUGE whip cream fan so I get super excited to have some but the whip cream here taste like wax. Both my daughter and myself took the whip cream off and thew it away. The whipped cream had no taste. I would go back, however, Baskin and Robbins was better overall, the whipped cream had much more flavor and they didn't skimp on the toppings. Despite signs mandating masks and social distancing there is no one enforcing anything. The shop is tiny and narrow and was crammed with at least 20 people, many not wearing masks at all, those who were constantly taking them on and off and crowding others.
