I found Crescendo Pilates on a whim because I was so desperate to fix my lower back and tail bone pain. I've been suffering from a lower back and tail bone issue for about a year. There are days where the pain is so bad, I literally couldn't even sit or lay down. I've been to physical therapy and we discussed some of the issues, but minus some stretches it didn't really go anywhere and the pain persisted. I tried all sort of other work outs, but the pain kept persisting or getting worse. I told the pilates instructors of my lower back pain, and to be honest, I wasn't expecting much. The first few lesson I took, I did notice some small improvements to my pain, but the pain still lingered here and there. I kept going because of the improvements that I saw with managing my pain gave me some hope. We kept working on developing my core and smaller under-used muscles. I would say after doing it for about 5-6 months, I am pain-free!
Some key things I did:
1. I took 1 on 1 classes since I wanted the lesson to be centered around fixing my issues rather than a general class. (If you don't have specific pains you can probably just take a group class to make it cheaper)
2. I asked a lot of questions during the class to make sure I got the most out of each lesson.
3. I always made sure to let my instructor know if other injuries came up
4. I made sure to practice the stretches and workouts at home as well. (This one is probably the most important that likely increase the speed of my recovery)
I would recommend Crescendo Pilates to anyone! read more
