Amazingly rewarding! I am a male that would immediately dismiss the idea of Pilates! I had been involved in a serious motorcycle accident 3 years ago, and had a hard time getting back in to my weight training program, which was my exercise of choice. I needed to slowly rehabilitate my body to get in to my heavy weights program. Elaine, is amazing! She is patient and knowledgeable..... she is really taking me to a better understanding of what I can do to improve my conditioning and strengthening my body! The studio is on the second floor of a Hollywood Historic Building. Is a clean and well equipped Studio, perfect for what I need to rehabilitate myself and get back to my old program. (Small group reformer class, twice a week with Courtney) I've never been one to work out or keep a exercise schedule but since starting pilates at Starr Pilates I always look forward to working out and leave each session feeling great. Elaine is a guru!!!! I have been doing pilates for six years and Elaine is by far my favorite private instructor to date. I have been with her for over a year now and each session has been unique. She caters to your body's needs, injuries, aches, pains...etc., while still making sure you get your ass kicked each and every session! I've worked with Elaine consistently for four years and she's the best! She has a truly exceptional ability to see what's going on in my body and knows exactly how to address and accommodate everything from significant injuries to the smallest issues with alignment. Her training has been so flexible and accommodating, as I've worked with her as much while I've been traveling as I have in LA. Had my first pilates class with Nabila last week. Didn't know what to expect, but man did she deliver an amazing workout! Nabila made me feel safe and comfortable, even when I was doing waist crunches that put me way out of my comfort zone. She took the time to demonstrate the more complex movements and explained what areas each exercise focused on. Her personality and professionalism were on point and before I knew it, the hour was up. I studied with Elaine several years ago and was amazed at the results. My body became lean and fit and I was in the best shape of my life. Elaine is an outstanding and very creative teacher.I have been taking pilates from Elaine for about 10 years. She is a classically trained ballerina and dances in plays, commercials, film, and music videos today. She incorporates her vast knowledge of dance and pilates to pin point the areas on your body that need work. She is always thinking of new exercises and she will never give you the same class twice (unless you request it and she will be happy to). When I first started working with Elaine I was trying to loose baby weight. She helped me drop about 20 pounds. Since then I have been for working with her to stay in shape and build my core. I feel so lucky to have found such a warm and smart instructor. Her studio has a very quiet, clean, warm vibe. I lost 5 pounds in 6 weeks with Starr Pilates - Elaine is amazing and develops a program that actually works with your body! Elaine is highly educated and trained with physical therapists so I first went to her for privates after breaking a bone in my foot. The Starr studio has all of the Pilates equipment (reformer, cadillac, wundachair, etc.) and I was amazed at what she could do for me while I was in a cast. Elaine's sessions can be sweat drenching and intense (if that is what is right for you), but her greatest gift is attuning to your body, and encouraging you to get attuned too. Wow! What an amazing Pilates experience with Elaine this week! I am a professional ballet dancer who is always seeking a great Pilates instructor. She is a dancer herself and is in tune with the body and what a dancer needs to get the muscles balanced and working hard. I felt muscles I've never felt before!!! I am super new to Pilates and not as in good shape as I used to be and was a little nervous. I took a private from Elaine and I definitely want to go back for more. Her instruction is great! I learned things about muscle groups and the connection of muscles and nerves and organs and I'll kinds of other things that I never thought about or knew before. That personalized my workout and painted a picture of what is right and wrong and was inspiring for me to take out of the classroom. She's very informative and gentle with newcomers but also gives you a GREAT workout. I left feeling stronger and worked out but not dying. She has a very good way of reading people and communicating to know what is good for them and sets up a good routine for an individual. Elaine Rensing has truly changed the way I think about working with my physical body. I grew up an athlete and have always looked toward diet and lots of exercise to stay fit. Almost a year ago a friend referred me to Elaine because I was experiencing chronic neck and back pain, which seemed to be spreading to my right hip. Basically, everything was hurting all the time. After my first session with Elaine, I felt immediate relief. She took the time, and knew how to properly observe my posture and movements in order to isolate the source(s) of my chronic pain, and now my body feels great! I'm not only stronger and in better alignment, but also more in tune with body. Elaine has literally helped me discover muscles I didn't even know were there.
