I always receive good quality care at Crescent Dental. Everyone in the office and the doctors are so nice.

HORRIBLE!!!!! ZERO STARS. They do horrible work!!!! You have to continue to follow-up with repairs from work they have done. I have now spent over $12,000.00 in their office in less than a year on root canals and crowns (with INSURANCE). Both crowns have fallen out in less than 6 months (2). They are the wrong shade and do not match the other teeth (very white and obvious). They recemented them back in (charged and billed insurance/running up my benefits for the year on work that was already paid for, upwards of 4,000 a tooth). I could not have booked an appointment due to their cancellation policy. Mind you, I spoke directly to the office and note my chart that I had not cancelled my appointment and yet they continue to state I did not cancel within 48 hours of said appointment and therefore they BANNED me from making appointments. So, here I am with a mouth full of VERY EXPENSIVE, mismatched, broken teeth, in pain, and cannot even make an appointment for repairs. I can only call on Wednesday's and hope for a cancellation. My last visit to Crescent resulted in a perfectly good lower molar that was drilled down and cracked in half, while the dentist was recementing my upper molar crown back in. So now, another dental repair to a good tooth that is now broken. I have since obtained a new dentist, reputable, reasonably priced, and in the process of having the $12k worth of work done at Crescent Dental redone as the new dental provider stated they did a root canal and crown on the upper molar that is not viable. I need to start an implant process ($6k) to replace the unnecessary $5k upper molar that Crescent did in March of 2026, basically now an $11,000k tooth, not to mention the cost of the office visits for repairs. I was informed by new dentist in June that the tooth should never have had a root canal and crown as it would not have worked. Money thrown away on a useless, expensive crown. I have reached out to my dental insurance as Crescent was submitting claims that were not valid, such as a mouth guard, office visits, xrays, etc. They are investigating Crescent Dental for false claims. I DO NOT RECOMMEND CRESCENT DENTAL or any of its affiliates as they are shady. They do not do good work, cause more harm than good, unprofessional, rude, and simply looking to get paid. Yes, they are more expensive than a regular dentist as he is a Priemer Dentist, meaning he submits claims at the highest billing rate and you get stuck paying more than other dentist and runs down your allotted benefits for the year. i've been going to crescent dental for some time always had Doctor Lewis for the most part he's a great dentist always took care of me little to no pain BUT whenever they switched me to dr.G omg life became hell he's so heavy handed and had to use the numbing needle close to 10 times just for me to finally relax and even still i was yelling and squirming, i'm sorry but he's no good i don't know why my doctors was randomly switched but i regret experiencing his work , and he knocked one of my fillings out that doctor lewis had previously done & apparently i have to come in for more work read more

This is my second time back to Crescent dental. My boyfriend has visited this establishment many times and when I moved out here, he recommended it to me. Same as the last time, another great experience! I was in and out in no time. The hygienist was gentle, quick and efficient. Do not take your child to Cresent Dental. I have been taking my son there for a few years and never had an issue until I meant their new DOCTOR Dr. Nyuyen. I had to bring my son in on Thursday March 27, 2025 to get a fill in for his top right side for one his tooth that had developed a cavity that they discovered on his XRAY in which they stated he has had a cavity on the same top right side in the back of his mouth. Why did Dr. Nyuyen drilled in the good tooth beside it when the dental assistant told him 3 times which too it was and then when he realized he was drilling the wrong tooth he sneakingly without acknowledging when he first made the mistake that he accidentally start working on the other tooth. What made me the most upset and shocked is that Dr. Nyuyen waited until I saw my son swinging his leg back and forth and his and shacking in which I asked my son while the Dr. was still working on his mouth ; J are you hurting because you keep moving your leg and hand!!! Then the assistant asked his as well was he hurting and my son raised his hand to indicate he was hurting. Then Dr. Nyuyen admits and says "I accidentally starting start working on the wrong tooth so that's why he is probably on a little pain and I stared "ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW" that's my child and thats dangerous to be messing around in his mouth!!! Dr. Nyuyen states I can fix it and I am sorry!!! I'm like fix it; "YOU ALREADY DONE TAMPERED AND PUT A HOLE IN A PERFECTLY GOOD TOOTH AND INJURED HIS NERVES IN IT IN WHICH IS WHY MY SON IS HURTING NOW!!! First, their Bear location should not even be considered a full service dental office. There is only one person who can do fillings and other procedures and he only works there on Wednesday's. Because of this, when I was in serious pain and needed a tooth extracted they offered me an appointment 4 weeks out. They made a big deal about "accommodating" me to "allow" me to go to the Wilmington location so I could receive faster care. I understand there may be some additional hassle having to move someone to the other location but it can't be that extensive and it can't be worse than having an irritated nerve in a tooth that has partially cracked and fallen off. My next appointment they rescheduled twice citing the dentists hours changing. This was before COVID. I thought this was odd and was a little concerned about their reliability. Then, unfortunately due to COVID the dentist chose to close the office for 2 weeks so my third appointment was cancelled. I myself am an essential worker so I understand it's less than ideal to have to work right now but the reality is that people still have certain needs during this time and medical care is one of them. I understand though this is a difficult time for everyone and I figured they needed time to figure out how to operate safely so I went ahead and rescheduled. Then, I unfortunately had to reschedule myself as a result of my own work schedule changing due to COVID coverage issues. They gave me push back and asked me for more details on why I was rescheduling - weird. I rescheduled for today at 12:45. I received a call on Friday confirming my appointment and I assured them I'd be there. Then I received two calls yesterday asking if I could reschedule my appointment to earlier in the day as the dentist's hours were changing. One of the voicemails also stated she needed to confirm my appointment again in general - even though I had just spoken to someone on Friday to confirm. Again because of my work schedule I said I couldn't come in earlier and I asked if they needed to reschedule to a different day. I was told they didn't and they dentist would be able to see me at my original appointment time. Then, I received a call at 9:30 this morning stating that the dentists hours were changing and therefore he would not be able to see me today. I just had the back and forth with them yesterday about today's appointment and they told me he would still be able to see me. They insisted on calling me 3 times between Friday and Monday to confirm this appointment but then I wake up on Tuesday and it's cancelled anyway? I called them back to say that I was not interested in rescheduling and explained that I was concerned about the ongoing back and forth about the scheduling and not happy with the customer service. The woman I spoke to said the dentists schedule changed and he was no longer in the office so there was nothing she could do. Sounded to me like he just decided to skip out because he didn't want to wait for my appointment time after all. I hang up and almost immediately receive a call back from another woman in the office who said that if I could be there in a half hour the dentist could "squeeze me in." First of all, the first woman I spoke to had just told me the dentist wasn't in for the day. All the sudden he is there? Secondly, I live almost a half hour from the Wilmington practice so that would mean I'd immediately need to leave but since I had gotten the call about my appointment being cancelled I hadn't gotten ready for the day. Third, "squeeze me in"? What does that mean exactly? 24 hours ago I had a confirmed appointment at 12:45 - you shouldn't have to squeeze me in, that's the point of making an appointment. The woman also rudely said "well we were understanding when you needed to reschedule." First of all, you weren't that understanding. You made me give detailed explanations about my work schedule. Secondly, I was understanding during the first 3 scheduling changes and even was understanding about the requested 4th and offered to do an overall reschedule to a different day. Saying no to that and then still cancelling day of - and then lying about whether the doctor is there or not - is totally unacceptable. The last issue I have with this practice is that they require you to pay half of the cost of your appointment when you schedule. I saw below that they are defending this policy tooth and nail, comparing it to the cost of entry to a movie theater. First of all, we're talking about people's health, not going to the movies. There are times people may not be able to afford half of the cost immediately and now they need to wait to schedule the appointment until they do. This extends the time until they receive care. Secondly, I've never been asked to pay for a movie ticket or entry to an amusement park several weeks in advance. This is an incredibly unusual policy for a healthcare practice. Since my first post I received my funds back into my account with an apology from the office manager Amanda. Then she called after reading my review and we discussed things that can get better going forward. Then got a call today saying that the dentist was asking if I would mind taking down the original post. So I'd like to just update it by saying they must have made some changes because this was my third call from her. I think that was a learning lesson for everyone. All is well between them and I so I'm glad about that and wish them much success in the future. read more

I came to this office for my cleaning and X-rays, ok so I need all four wisdom teeth pulled. I explained to the dentist that I was terrified and wanted to be put to sleep for this, they said that was fine but they would refer me out because they don't do that in the office. Ok so I go see the other dentist and he does more X-rays and they gave me an total price of 1,500 my insurance would pay and 400 outta pocket.. I don't have that , so now I just call Cresent Dentsl back and tell them just give me the laughing gas to get my wisdom teeth pulled. The receptionist tells me I don't have that option anymore because they already referred me to someone for extraction.... wth I'm not allowed to change my mind now!! I don't think it's right or fair, my insurance that I pay for is still paying for the procedure. I'll be finding a new dentst.. I don't recommend Cresent Dental read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE!! I took my son for his first appt. earlier today... They told me they recommend children over 5 going back with the hygienist without their parents.. (Weird)... My son said He was not comfortable going back without me, he has had some traumatic experiences at dentists before and wanted me to go back... He is 14 and he said he was just anxious since he has had bad experiences and didn't feel comfortable going back alone especially since he had never been there before... I told him that I would just tell them he was very nervous and wanted me to go back with him and that I would go with him when they called him back... When they came out to get him, they would NOT allow me back there with my son! My son got so freaked out and walked out to the car while I freaked out and told them that was absolutely unacceptable.. they can recommend something all they want, but if a parent wants to go back with their minor child then thats is THAT! I am so disgusted with this place... It was the Bear office... and it is beyond alarming that they would refuse to allow a parent to go back with their child. This was our very first visit. I had never met the staff, the dentist, noone... and they think they are just going to take my son and go... NO! Parents! Beware! Keep your children away from this place!! Major red flags! read more

I went to Crescent dental today for a extraction and root canal. I was told my out of pocket costs would be 1029.00 to include laughing gas Three days before I get to the appointment I was advised I need 200 more. I get to the office pay 200 dollars just to get back to chair I need to pay another 149 for laughing gas I told desk clerk I already paid for it but I didn't feel like arguing got home after service ....yes it was paid on my receipt from my initial payment....the service was superior but I feel over charged will check with my insurance company in the morning also practice website says they offer sedation services well this is not true I bought this to dentist attention during first visit she said oh I need to update the website SMH I can say Dr. G was very gentle and made me feel comfortable i will not need laughing gas in the future due to him making me feel safe.. My first experience at Crescent was quite good. I ended up writing down the wrong appointment time and was about an hour late, they were accommodating and did not charge me a late fee, which was very kind. They still saw me promptly and were able to answer all of my questions. With that, they made changes to their schedules to accommodate an important procedure that I need done right around the holidays. Bear Office- I live in Bear and found a wonderful, calming dentist in Dr. G. I'm usually fearful of dentists and he has taken time to sit, talk and explain things to me and ask me what I want to do to fix my teeth. No other dentist has done this before. I find the staff personable, competent and friendly. They'll tell you all costs up front and make sure you understand what is happening. The office is clean and I never wait more than 15 minutes to be seen. Would recommend! read more

I Agee with the other reviews this practice is about the money. I was charged over $300+ for a cleaning (I have dental insurance). I found out after the appointment my insurance wasn't going to cover the bill because all of my money had been exhausted for the year. ( I had several fillings and a root canal all with crescent ) If I had known beforehand I would have certainly waited to get the cleaning I guess I should have known but every other dentist I have been to over the years called and got authorization prior by my appointments. I offered to come to a settlement and take responsibility for my part but I feel the office was also partially responsible . They would not budge !! So I now have a collection on my credit dropping my credit score!! read more

I was a first time patient needing dental forms filled out for a work trip. The dentist insisted on an extraction. Payment via card was demanded 1/2 on that day final on the say of procedure. Day of procedure dentist refused to fill out form unless I had a second tooth extracted. Payment was demanded while I was sitting in the dental chair. Total of $750 charged over my insurance. 3 weeks later I receive a call I was overcharged $350. They insist on electronic payment but only refund by check? They got me in for an appointment at extremely short notice as I was in a significant amount of pain. I am always anxious about going to the dentist and definitely not a fan of pain! But Dr. A. was fantastic, gentle and professional. I was given options and this morning I returned and had my tooth extracted with no pain, Dr. G put me at my ease and I was relieved at how quick it all was. Doctor Ganjavian is great. I went there for my first appointment: a cleaning and a check-up. Right after the appointment, I scheduled 2 fillings for the next business day and another 3 for two weeks after. I was asked to pay half up front when scheduling the appointment which I did for the next 2 appointments, $59 and $58 respectively. I also scheduled the next cleaning due in 6 months. The next business day I went there for my first 2 fillings at 8am. Unfortunately, the receptionist wouldn't let me see the doctor because I was not able to pay the remaining balance for that appointment since I had forgotten my wallet at home. I told the receptionist that I had taken time off work for the appointment and suggested that I could stop by later that day and pay the remaining balance of $50 or that they could bill me later. She told me there was no way I could see the doctor if I didn't pay the remaining balance and added that some people were not honest. She said that they had other openings that day so I could go get my wallet and come back later. I reiterated that I only had time for the appointment at that time (8AM) and that later I could stop by to pay the balance. I asked her to talk to the doctor and to ask him if he could make that exception since I had already paid 50% for that visit and another 50% for my next visit due two weeks after. Besides, I had already talked to the doctor about getting other work done after those two appointments that would be in excess of $2,500 (out of pocket). She left for two minutes and told me she would talk to the doctor. She came back with the same decision after talking to the doctor. I was in disbelief when they turned me away so easily even though I had already paid for a cleaning, 50% down payment for that visit and another 50% down payment for the next appointment, raising my office positive financial credit over the left-at-home wallet appointment balance, in addition to all the work I had already discussed with the doctor and that was pending after those two appointments. All they could have done was to take the money from any of my future appointments down payments and apply it to the current balance for the left-at-home wallet appointment. There would have been enough to cover for it, but for some reason the receptionist wanted to teach me a lesson about dishonesty and not forgetting my wallet. Needless to say I canceled all future fillings appointments and asked them to return my money or deposits (down payments / payments in advance). It is funny that they require 50% to be paid right on the spot when scheduling an appointment, but when it is time for returning my money, they say it will take 7 days via check. It's been 11 days already and I am still waiting for the check in the mail. I really liked Doctor Ganjavian and the dental hygienist was excellent. I've had my share of money grabbing dentists before who were more interested in fake procedures and the insurance than a person's wellbeing. I was very happy that this seemed like an honest and pleasant office where I could go regularly for my dental care. Sadly, things didn't turn out as expected and I have decided I will not go back to Doctor Ganjavian's office. read more

This is the most unprofessional office I have ever encountered. My granddaughters both had appointments which my daughter confirmed the day before. The evening before the appointment my granddaughters became very I'll. My daughter called the office in the morning to tell them she needed to reschedule because the girls were sick. The office said they would not see them again because since both girls were sick thay counts as two missed appointments. My daughter called after the girls were seen by thier Dr. and offered a Dr note and they still refused to schedule. This happened Tuesday and the kids are so sick thier Dr put them out of school until Friday. I think it is awful that they were treated this way. when treating young children there will be times kids get sick and you don't have 24 hours notice. DO NOT use this dentist. The guy told me I had 8 cavities, and wanted to be paid up front for any work he did. I allowed him to fix 3 of the 8 supposed cavities I had. I never went back for the rest to be fixed and found another dentist. My new dentist said I had NO cavities, and the the work he had done needed to be corrected! I almost had to have a root canal because of this guys half-ass work. If you value your money, and teeth, find another dentist!! read more

My experiences at Cresent Dental was the best. I normally don't return to the same place twice when it comes to dental work because I don't like pain. At Cresent Dental, the staff is very friendly, professional & compassionate. It took several visits over a period of a year, to complete all the work which was needed. I have been going to Crescent Dental Associates for 7 years with my children I didn't have the money for my teeth due to no dental insurance. I was too embarrassed at the time to ask for a appointment because of my financial situation. One day I asked for a estimate of the cost for dental treatment I was so glad I did, they worked with me, gave me excellent service, free whitening for first time patients, and on top of that saved my teeth from falling out due to gum disease and bone loss. If I had not have gone I would have eventually lost my teeth. Dr. G is fantastic the staff is wonderful they are polite and courteous they answer all of your questions and explain things in a understandable manner. The wait time is not long they validate your parking at the garage down the street for free, they give you a treatment plan that works for you at an affordable price my only regret is that I didn't come to them sooner! My treatment plan is working I can see and feel the difference in my teeth and the health of my gums.
