The Alpacas where so friendly and nice. We just missed a baby being born by 3 hours, but were able to see the baby being fed by bottle. The owner/employees were so kind as to make arrangements for our dog, as it was 90°+. Dogs can't be near the Alpacas, but a parking spot was made available to allow our dog to stay cool. Our kids loved feeding the Alpacas and picking up souvenirs in the boutique store filled with everything Alpaca. The is our second time coming here and it's becoming one of our family favorites when passing through. read more

Lovely little Alpaca farm. You can buy a bag of snacks for $5 and feed the Alpacas. Despite the super hot weather there was a nice breeze in the afternoon when we went. Found a shaded bench under a tree to eat out picnic lunch. Staff was friendly & informative. Highly recommend if you love animals and want a nice peaceful afternoon. The shop has tons of gifts etc but Alpaca wool is expensive. If you want to buy some yarn from one of their Alpacas for knitting etc it's $28/- roll. Totally worth the stop! In fact, plan to bring your picnic and hang out to watch the alpaca be ridiculously cute. There is a nice loop through the pens that gives you great views of the animals and the landscape (recommend), but you can also see them from where you park, so walking is not required. Totally suggest buying the bags of feed from the boutique. And anything else that catches your eye - incredible local alpaca yarn, beautiful scarves, blankets, gloves, hats.... You can wander the property all you want and take In the sights of the cute alpacas! (Once you get past these guys GIANT teeth lol!) We have a family rule when on the road. One must stop to enjoy time with the alpacas if we happen to pass an alpaca farm. I'm so glad we decided to wait 20 min for them to open up on a Sunday, their gift shop is filled with a great selection of alpaca items. We stumbled by this place after our visit to Smith Rock and we are so glad we stopped. We bought two bags of feed for our family of four to feed these beautiful animals. Parking is easy, you walk into store to buy feed (there's also a gift shop of everything alpaca) and then you follow the signs to feed. It's a nice stroll and plenty of alpacas to feed. Driving by when we saw the sign, and alpacas outside, so we turned around and stopped in for a visit. Great to find out we could walk around the grounds for free. We did purchase a bag of feed for $3.00 and returned some at the end of our visit as we didn't use it all. An outside hand was very helpful in answering our questions. It was great to see so many alpacas, ranging in ages, sizes, and colors. There were several who had been born just a day earlier. If you love animals or if you have children, you shouldn't pass the opportunity to see and learn more about alpacas. They have a lovely gift shop that is a bit expensive, but then we are talking high quality alpaca wool! We were on a road trip, staying at Airbnb's so I was surprised when we were told they wouldn't take a few postcards to put in their own outgoing mail. The shop has some great yarn and other Alpaca products. Feeding the Alpacas was fun, but beware the do spit! The alpacas were excited to see people come up and totally knew what you were there for. The daughter of the owners who was working in the shop was very friendly and willing to chat a little about caring for the animals. We have easily seen a half dozen alpaca farms and shops and this was easily the largest herd and shop we have ever seen. Great place to bring the family to see and pet lots of alpacas of all ages. We got to see a newborn, probably less than an hour old. There is no charge to see and pet the alpacas, but the do sell alpaca food so you can feed them. The have a shop with all sorts of luxurious alpaca products. Definitely worth a stop here. read more

We stopped ny with grandkids and had such a good time, except for over 100 degrees. Its a large Alpaca farm which you can walk thru and handfeed them with bags of treats you can purchase at gift shop. The grounds are beautiful with beautiful green grass, flowers, etc. We were lucky we were there when a baby was born! The owner spent quite a bit of time with us about feeding, breeding, shows and the birthing. No charge to come in but you can buy inexpensive bags of treats to hand feed them, and there is a beautiful gift shop with beautiful clothing and blankets made from their hair, to tshirts and things kids love. I heard about the Cascade Ranch of alpacas, and Crescent Moon Ranch was less than 10 minutes from where my parents live, so we had to check it out! Visited Crescent Moon Ranch on a very cold day during December. My fingers were half frozen but that did not stop me feeding the alpacas. We first visited the boutique and got to meet owners, as well as their friendly dog. All the merchandise was pricey, but of course, you pay for what you get--all items are made from alpaca fleece. I bought a little alpaca décor that cost $18. They also sell pellets if you want to feed the alpacas. A bag for $3 or two bags for $5. Although we did not get to see a birthing process of an alpaca as mentioned from the first review, we did get to see a newborn alpaca! The husband owner was really nice. He told us the story how they started the ranch, and how they also live in the same property. Such a small world that he used to live in the same neighborhood in Long Beach, CA as where I live at as of now. Overall, great family owners--they are very welcoming, informative, and nice. As we were heading to our next adventure, we drove by a small farm located off of the busy interstate. My family screamed "Alpacas!", with such excitement, that I nearly careened off into the deeply cut irrigation ditch along the road. Well, of course I turned around. It was an alpaca farm!! We parked, walked into the quaint on-site store and gladly paid for the small bags of alpaca food, before somewhat speed walking to the dozens of animals that were kept safely behind their metal barriers. Honestly, after spending just moments with these adorable, peaceful creatures, I began to wonder what it would take to have my own alpaca farm back home. We fed these adorable animals and smiled as we finished the last few miles of our drive to our stopping point. What a wonderful find. Beautiful landscape, farm structures, and animals. This place is really adorable. Well-maintained, family owned and very friendly. We bought two bags of food at the gift shop for ($5 for two bags, $3 for one bag) and traveled around the farm. Lots of alpacas and we saw many babies. The alpacas are friendly and greet you when they see you have food. This was the best part of our trip to the bend area so far. We bought a small alpaca toy from the gift shop as a souvenir. Lots of sweaters, gloves and yarn at the shop. I highly recommend stopping here. read more

What a quaint little place to visit. The children had a blast feeding the alpacas. There isn't much else to do besides visit the gift shop, but the salespeople were very kind and helpful and the alpaca food was reasonably priced. My husband, toddler daughter and I stumbled upon this farm on the way back from hiking in Smith Rock State Park. We figured our daughter would get a kick out of seeing the llamas. We were pleasantly surprised at how amazingly warm the family that owns the ranch is. We bought some feed and fed the llamas. Some of them sneezed/spit on us, which was gross but kind of hilarious too. The coolest part of the visit is that the family invited us to the other side of the fence to witness a alpaca giving birth! We were literally a few feet away and got to be up close to watch the whole thing. The owners were really attentive, answered all our questions and treated us like VIPs just because we happened to be there when the alpaca was ready to deliver. It was SO COOL to witness the baby being born. We were surrounded by alpaca and the mountains in the background made it picture perfect. Needless to say, my daughter's mind was blown. The family is super nice and ready to answer any questions. There's a shop on the property that sells feed and clothing made from alpaca fur. It's a beautiful, boutique-style clothes.
