    Burger and fries

I really wanted to give this place more stars. Most of the food was phenomenal and would honestly give this place another shot. Where it went wrong was I ordered a medium rare prime rib that came out well done. The server offered to have a new one made which I took advantage of. What came out the 2nd time was another well done piece of meet what made matters worse was the time that it took and everyone in my part finished their dinner while I was still waiting. As far as everyone else in our group, they lowered their meals. I will say, the Brussels sprouts were a 100 out of 10 (the best I have ever had). Our server was friendly but never offered to make things financially right when I clear didn't eat any of the prime rib that was over cooked.

I ordered a side salad (server said it was romaine - not!! it was spring mix) and a cheeseburger with fries. I also got a bottomless soda. The salad was good except that I had specifically said I wanted crunchy lettuce and she said it was Romaine. No, it was weeds!! The burger was SO DRY!! I almost got the hiccups, especially since she didn't refill my soda in a timely fashion. The french fries were great, however, and they almost made up for the other two fails. I won't come here again, sorry.

Highly recommend for a family meal with kids after visiting Smith Rock! The portions are very generous. The American burger was generous with the bacon. The salad were abundant (I would order a half portion next time). Lettuce was crisp and fresh. Kids under 8 eat for free (if you order an entree for the adult). The server was very friendly and the ambiance was great for a family meal. Restaurant was not too noisy (which can be tricky for my dad with his hearing aids)

Our server, Katelyn is the best. And the food was tasty as well. She deserves a raise. Highly recommended

When we arrived we noticed a live band playing outside. We went inside to get a table and they were able to seat us right away. All the employees we interacted with were friendly and helpful. It was pretty loud inside, but that made sense with how busy it was. I got one of the steak dishes and thought it was pretty tasty.

I love coming here. Especially after a good hike. This place is always a hit. My kinda bar. My kinda people. The server was amazing. They have both regular seating and a bar area. I opted for the bar. They have several TVs if you need to catch a game. A very good menu. You can find something for everyone here. I'm looking forward to next time. Go check them out

Best drinks!!! Love the guava martini, and the espresso martini with whiskey!!

But this place in Bend... this is serious burger territory. First thing you notice: they're not messing around with the menu. Just burgers that understand what a burger is supposed to be. Double patty. Brioche bun. Cheese doing its job. America. I ordered The O.G. because I respect tradition. American cheese, caramelized onions, burger sauce. Simple system. Works great. Like a pickup truck that starts every time. My buddy got The Popper which is basically what happens when a jalapeño popper and a burger start collaborating. Bacon, jalapeño cream cheese, ranch. It looked like something a scientist made to test the limits of happiness. Fries were solid. Soda cold. No weird nonsense. Just burgers doing burger things. Only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is because if I lived closer I would probably eat here too often and that feels medically irresponsible. I'd give it 6 stars if Yelp understood burgers better.

We went during happy hour and got the fresh oysters, the pork belly, the albacore tataki, pork belly sliders, the Cuban, and the burger. We walked in to find a mostly empty restaurant (2 other tables seated). The atmosphere felt more like it was suited for a nice dinner date than a casual lunch but whatever - they're open for lunch. When I asked a friend about it later, he said he and his wife go there for dinner but had never been at lunch time. My buddy ordered the Grinder (essentially an Italian) and I ordered the Beef Sando (essentially their take on a French Dip). My buddy, who self-admittedly doesn't like focaccia, said the bread was awesome and sando in general really good. We both really enjoyed the fries, that were well seasoned in a savory and slightly sweet dusting. The abundance of fries was well appreciated as well. The beef sando was tasty and also a good portion. My only complaint was the thinly shaved beef was laid flat in layers instead of mounded on the sandwich (see pic). I hesitate to even say this, but it felt like I was eating Steak-umm. In general, the meal was good and filling. The service was good and value for price felt good.

He sweats and pushes us to order and eat fast, doing that waiter thing when they pretend they are not rushing you. "Just checking if you need that plate taken away." Not fooling anyone. Brusque to my brother who is into fine wines and requested tastes of some by-the-glass wines before committing to a glass or a bottle. My wife stated she is uncomfortable around the server. We don't go to the Open Door much now. Old review. A real romantic spot. Great drinks. My wife loves it. Sitting outside is best but the bar is good too. Some nights they put tables in the art gallery out front and you sit around the paintings and jewelry, kind of fun. There used to be a waitress named Kristen or Kirsten, a lady with long hair and clogs, the best server I've ever had and I don't just mean in Central Oregon. The Open Door is the probably the best dining experience in Sisters. Living in Tumalo and working throughout Oregon, I go to Sisters often. Unfortunately Sisters isn't a great town for food. The Open Door has some very-good food, and some pretty-good food. You never know which it's going to be. The halibut, meatballs, and lasagnas are solid. Berries and cream dessert is great. The menu doesn't change much over the years. If my wife didn't love it I wouldn't go back so often. Get bored eating the same dishes over and over. When my brother and his grown kids visit they like the atmosphere, especially those small houses outside with the plants. However they have trouble finding a selection that works for their way of eating, allergies, one is vegan and one is lactose intolerant.
