The sampler came with extra pulled pork and brisket because they only make ribs on certain days apparently. Not sure what normal portions look like but this just seemed like a " normal" sized portion to me. Struck me as strange to offer a sampler plate that offers ribs as one of the three choices yet they only make ribs a couple days a week, but whatever. It is, what it is. The pork was chopped to the point of being pulverized which I actually see in alot of bbq places. I wish people would stop doing this and just hand pull the pork into larger pieces but that just my personal preference. I understand that other people like this. It is " pulled pork" after all. In my experience, when you see pulled pork that's pulverized or chopped brisket on the menu. It's usually what they do when the barbecue turned out dry and they're trying to make it sellable. The brisket here was very different than about any brisket I've ever had . Thin sliced and salty. When I say " thin sliced " I mean it. Literally like bacon thin. Pale with a kinda grey-ish look in appearance that almost looked and tasted and looked like poorly cooked bacon. It was reasonably tender but stringy because it was cut with the grain which I've never seen and is basically wrong no matter where you go. Very little smoke flavor or any flavor really other than salt. Just kinda strange for brisket but somehow edible if you're hungry and just paid 26.00 for lunch. They charge you for the bread if you want it. It's just a cold , dry , day old sandwich roll you see at the grocery store . I think it's called an outdoor roll and delicious when fresh. This one could use a little help by being warmed up slightly but sadly was not. Overall, edible I suppose and not gross but definitely not the brisket I expected. Cole slaw was dry, needed dressing. Basically shedded cabbage with a slight hint of sweetness . The potato salad was obviously bought at the grocery store. The guy serving ( probably owner) was not rude but definitely wasn't friendly either. Just kinda there to make the transaction. Nothing more, nothing less. Worth a stop if you're hungry, not terribly picky and would rather eat real food instead of some fast food burger. Just know you may walk away from this place feeling as if it never happened because it's completely forgettable ( which is both good and bad probably) The most annoying thing (and this had nothing to do with the food) was some guy in a giant diesel truck idling the whole time while he ate in his truck. The entire area was choking with diesel fumes to the point that we walked out to the parking lot 50 yards away to wait for the food. If the owner reads this, I would suggest maybe asking people not to idle their diesel trucks in front of the place where people are sitting. Just a suggestion that I think people might appreciate. Beyond that , it's the best BBQ place in town!! If you been to oak ridge, you'll understand!

Toni's slaw is the 'mayo' variety, which is fine by me. - Beans are decent but you don't get much. The beans come with the plate. - BBQ sauce is possibly the worst I've ever had. As another reviewer said, it tastes like ketchup. I scraped off what I could and used the single hot sauce bottle I found by the utensils (Franks or Texas Pete, I forget which). The pulled pork was smoked well and there was no gristle or excessive hunks/pieces of fat--all meat and no cheap tricks seen at other joints. There was a nice crust mixed in with the meat and overall the cook was excellent. My only feedback goes back to the base seasoning or rub. If the pit master would add more flavor (Salt, pepper garlic) to the butts, the pulled pork would be phenomenal with the smoke/cook already mastered. That said, with a little of their sauce, it was delicious. If sauce is your thing, then you will be happy. The sauce was top notch and very flavorful. I normally don't do sauce (keto lifestyle), but I put some on the pulled pork to add flavor and it was good. I don't know if they blend their own or do a hybrid on the sauce, all I can say is that it is very tasty and well done.
