Steve answered my call on a Saturday morning and was over within a couple hours. He took the time to really investigate the problem and found a burned connection inside the AC disconnect that everyone else had missed. He made a temporary repair to get my AC safely running again while we wait for the replacement disconnect, and after running for hours in 100+ degree weather, the breaker hasn't tripped once. Then I was reluctantly offered a store credit. The clerk's demeanor and arrogance were appalling. I was told that it's the owner's policy. I don't believe him. This policy is not posted anywhere, nor was I told that this was a final sale. We will never buy from this store again. There is nothing proprietary about these light bulbs, and they are readily available at a lesser price online, in Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware, etc. I tried patronizing a local vendor in Thousand Oaks. If all contractors communicated the way Rudy does, half of the world's problems would probably be solved (ok, slight hyperbole). From start to finish, Rudy was incredibly communicative, knowledgeable, professional, and transparent. He let me know when he was heading to my house, when he arrived on the property, and when he left. I never had to wonder whether he was coming or if I had been ghosted by yet another contractor. He kept every appointment and did exactly what he said he was going to do. Apparently, this level of reliability does still exist! He was also extremely respectful and as another Yelper mentioned, never pushy about upselling me. He listened to what I wanted, worked with me, and offered ideas about what would look best in my backyard. I felt like I was getting genuine advice rather than a sales pitch. There are maybe one or two other people I've hired over the years whom I would gleefully recommend without hesitation. Rudy is now firmly on that very short list.
