My dissatisfaction from this practice arises from my experience as a new patient and a procedure which I had not experienced in prior initial dental visits called a digital image scan. I understood xrays would be taken and then an evaluation by a dentist and a cleaning. Once xrays were taken the hygienist began to perform the digital scan, but I stopped to inquire as to whether it was covered by my insurance , the hygienist stopped the procedure and left to ascertain insurance coverage, came back several minutes later saying they couldn't reach aetna but it should be covered and would submit the bill, at that time I indicated it would be an issue if not covered. So I received a statement from Aetna saying I owed 0 for the visit, but also received a $30 bill direct from Created Oak. I contacted Aetna who conferenced in Crested Oak, and here is where things began to get convoluted : - Crested Oak indicated they had submitted the wrong code to Aetna and it was denied, however Aetna refuted that . Later I get a call from Created Oak saying they would resubmit the bill, they also claimed that when I scheduled the visit I had been told about the digital scan - completely false. - Created Oak also put in the visit notes that the hygienist had informed me of the digital scan prior to starting myvisit - completely false. - A hour later Created Oak calls me saying they would cancel my next schedule cleaning because they said their doctors didn't want to work with me as I had compromised trust. In conclusion IMO it was Created Oak that I felt should not be trusted as they performed a procedure that I had not consented to and them they came up with very questionable and conflicting information around the whole incident. The bill they sent was small $30 . but a matter of principal. read more

Don't go here unless you want a wallet biopsy. I was told I had "14" new fillings. I was shocked as I had two cavities for my whole lifetime and go to the dentist every 6 months for a cleaning. They insisted and told me my insurance would cover all their work. I should have known better. I am still trying to correct all the poor work they did. Their " mini fillings" were interesting on XRAY as are they squared edged fillings. It has cost me a fortune correcting their terrible work. They just want your money and have no pride in doing the right thing or doing the job well. read more

the biggest mistake of my life! I got preapproval for a new denture from my insurance company. I contacted crested Oak and let them know and they agreed to take my insurance and take me on as a client. when I arrived there, they couldn't do my denture they wanted to do a reline of my old denture until they had the product to do my denture. April informed me this was covered by my insurance and free to me. I did the reline (1st picture) below all you can see are gums! This was not covered by my insurance so I was billed 500+ that I had to pay them out of my pocket before I could get the denture. I was told by April to go ahead and pay it, and they would work with me. I paid it! At my next appointment once again, they did not have the product for my denture. So they charged my insurance for a consultation. I didn't schedule a consultation they were out of product. They did not tell my insurance, so I was billed again 177 when it would've never been a consultation had they had the product the second time my mind you. When my first denture finally came in the teeth were all gapped and round it off and just looked horrible. I refer to them as a Bubba J luck. I sent them back and told them absolutely no gaps in my teeth. The doctor took a picture of my old dentures and how tightly the teeth or cell together and send it to the lab, when I tried on my dentures, they did not fit so I had to use excessive glue the excessive glue ran over the teeth and I thought they looked fine when I got home, I found gaps between my teeth and that they had been carved down and rounded off they will surely chip in no time. I called in and complained. They said someone would contact me today. I got a letter in the mail stating that they are turning me into collections for 133. I don't even know what they want the money for this time as they never refunded me for the consultation, and I did not want the reline. April told me they had to do it before the denture after having other dentist work on my denture. This is untrue. Below are a set of pictures. Some are the real line and some are obviously my brand new spaced chipped teeth pictures don't do them justice in life person. You can see the gaps much better. I would never deal with these guys unless you're willing to pay a lot more than what you ever agreed on and not received the product you've asked for. read more

Looking for a new dentist is harder work than finding an new OB/GYN to me. I have teeth that dentists love - because I always need a lot of work done! When I moved to town, I just went ahead to made an appointment at the same practice my mother in law used. Turned out to be a winner. First, I have to say that the hygienists there are A+. I hate when they give you crap when they clean your teeth (do you know how to floss?? let me show you the correct way to brush). I am old and have been brushing and flossing and being instructed forever. Here, you are treated with dignity, but still get advice. But you are treated like an adult and not like a naughty child. I really appreciate this and go to my cleanings with NO dread. And, my teeth come away well cleaned and polished. Dr. Brad Nelson has done a great job with me and with my mother in law. I called to cancel an appointment because my husband is sick, and I am his caretaker right now. I don't normally cancel my appointments, but life has taken a difficult turn for me the past month. The receptionist was so rude, scolding me and threatening me with a $75 fine. I told her this was not a normal situation and then she hung up on me!!! I felt so confident with the Delta office, Dr. Stephen and Ashley. He said at one point, Let's get you that pretty smile...then regreattbly. honest mistake, I missed an appointment, I called and apologized and rescheduled, but when I went back to the office I was told I didn't have that appointment. Was rescheduled again for the next day for another appointment, Things that make you go..hmmmm. The receptionist called me and told me I didn't have another appointment. She told me the Dr is referring me to an orthodontist. When does the receptionist at the front desk, have the authority to discuss my case with me on the phone, in a public waiting room, telling me the reason for the referral, something to the effect...your case is beyond our capabilities? Calls to have the Dr or Assistant call me back to discuss this have not been returned. It just feels a bit off...I honestly feel bad about this review...I felt very confident with them, but I feel like I was kicked to the curb with no explaination. read more

Professional, clean and friendly! My husband and I went in for cleanings. They finished in under an hour. This will be our regular dentist from now on. They have up to date equipment as well which our last dentist didn't have. Their office is nice and new looking. read more

Tammy of Crested Oak Dentistry, I went to Dr. Julie Gillis. She took xray and video pictures of the tooth your Dr. Lewis worked on to fill a cavity. She showed me the picture of the tooth he worked on and he didn't even drill out the cavity. He just partially filled on tip of it. Dr. Gillis had to redo the work. I'm not sure why she wouldn't share the video with my insurance but if you'd like I can show you the bill for the work. I still have to pay to fix the damage to the crown he broke while attempting to fill the cavity. I cannot believe you guys treat people like this. read more

While the people are very nice, I don't think they stand behind their products. Maybe it's an industry problem. I had a bridge done in 2014 that first began to lose the tooth surface on the back of the I-tooth. Later the entire back of the tooth to the right of the I-tooth broke off & has left a sharp point on what's remaining. I could have traveled through Grand Junction from Fort Collins to get it fixed but they informed me it wouldn't be warranted. Their warranties are 1-yr that they say is highly durable on their website. Maybe they would have fixed it if I still lived in Grand Junction but their ability to keep making money from me shouldn't be the determining factor. Teeth can last a lifetime. Modern repairs can be destroyed by a bite into a apple? For the $ they charge, it should have been warranted for much longer. read more

Had a bad experience here. Had a 540 dollar one tooth filling. After that had an adjacent tooth go bad with 'drill damage' reported by the new dentist. They 'dinged' a known good tooth (seen in prior exray) in filling he new tooth requiring removal by a new dentist. Stay away! Expensive and untrustworthy. read more

I am/was new patient at this practice. Dr. Brad Nelson is a good dentist. Although, he was 20 minutes late in seeing me. He was visiting with the staff while I waited in the chair. After the conclusion of this appt. Hannah, at the front desk scheduled me for a 9:30 a.m. cleaning appt. the following week. yHowever, when I appeared for the appt. at 9:30 I was informed the time was incorrect. She tried to convince me the appt. was 2:30 not 9:30. I located the reminder card (when I returned home) she had given me when she made the appt. it clearly stated 9:30. They were unwilling to correct their error and honor my 9:30 appt. for the cleaning. They embarrassed me while I was at their check-in desk insisting I was wrong regarding the time of my appt. I will never return to this practice as they were unwilling to do anything to accommodate me for a teeth cleaning. They requested I return at 2:30 and would NOT admit they made an error in scheduling. I do NOT recommend this practice as Hannah the scheduler does not know how to treat patients or accommodate them when clearly the mistake made is theirs. There are several other dentists in Grand Junction to choose from which I strongly suggest you look into. read more

So I had a root canal the other day. I do not work at a dental office but my best friend does and she is aware of the correct way of doing things. They had my jaw wide open with a block thing (I couldn't rest It) while they tried to figure out what was wrong with one of the machines and then the X-ray wasn't working either instead of taking It out and letting me rest I waited. While I waited I asked for my mouth to be suctioned because I was drooling everywhere. The lady told me to just swallow my saliva. Remind you my mouth was wide open because of the block and It was numbed. My sister even asked her to help with my drooling but the lady just said "hold on we're going to the other room" and still waited another 5 before she tried to suction It away. I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes with my mouth wide open. My jaw was in so much pain I started crying and then they stopped. They let me rest and massaged my jaw for 5 minutes before continuing again even tho they saw me crying still. I left in so much pain and tears. They should have taken off the block while they got their sh*t together and then start again. And keeping your patients clean and comfortable is key. And they did neither of these! At least my tooth is not in any pain even though my jaw is. read more
