I specifically chose this office because I needed urgent help with periodontal disease and wanted to get back on a 3-month cleaning schedule. The first appointment went fine, but ever since has been a mess. A few days before my second appointment, less than a week later, the office started texting me that "someone else is interested in your appointment, so you must confirm or we'll give it away." I had already scheduled that visit in person with the hygienist and made clear I desperately needed it, yet they treated my spot like it was negotiable. That's not patient care--that's games. I ended up cancelling, because I have lost trust in this company completely. The billing was no better. At my first visit, I was suddenly told the insurance they had confirmed as accepted was now "lapsed" and they couldn't bill it. There was even a handwritten note about this issue that followed me through the entire process that day--never corrected, never explained. I only went through with treatment because I was in extreme pain and couldn't wait, but the handling of it was unprofessional and sloppy. It feels like this office does not value patients, even ones who will spend thousands annually on periodontal care and remain consistent, long-term clients. I'm not sure what a patient has to do to secure an appointment and have it honored, but this seems to be an industry-wide problem at this point. Bottom line: I should not have to fight to keep an appointment I scheduled or be treated like my care is optional. I also shouldn't have to wonder whether the office can actually bill the insurance they say they accept. I'm still searching for a dentist in town who can simply schedule, honor the appointment, and provide consistent care. It should not be this hard to get a cleaning. read more

November 1, 2021 BE CAREFUL! Medically UNNECESSARY work being recommended. First, let me say I was pleased with the Ruby Canyon (RC) dental hygienist, and dental assistants. The RC billing department is a different story. Let me explain. I am a relatively new patient at RC. I moved to the area about two years ago. Shortly before the pandemic started. When I finally decided to look for a new dentist here, I did my research and settled on Ruby Canyon. I scheduled an appointment for a routine cleaning. All of the routine preventative work went fine. I was told I needed two crowns. I was aware of the broken tooth that needed a crown. However, the dentist told me of another tooth that also needed a crown. The costs seemed high, but I had never gotten a crown before, so I didn't have anything to compare it with. The procedure was done on 5/20/21 and went fine. However, when I received the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from my insurance provider, I found out the other tooth was denied coverage. According to the EOB, the cost of the crown was denied because it was deemed medically unnecessary. I would have NEVER gotten the second crown, if I weren't told it was necessary. Or if I had been informed my insurance wasn't covering the procedure. Upon finding out the procedure wasn't covered on 7/8/21, I called RC. I spoke with Carol, and she told they had already filed an appeal on the denial on 6/10/21. Carol also told me she would call my insurance provider to follow-up on the dispute as soon as we got off the phone. The next couple of weeks I called a few times to follow-up, and had to leave voicemails, but never received any return calls. On 8/11/21 I called and left another message at RC. It was at this time, that I decided I would also, call my insurance provider to check on the status of the dispute. This is the first time I found out that they had not ever received a dispute/appeal of the coverage denial. Upon finding this out, I immediately called RC back and spoke with Molly, in billing. She told me RC doesn't actually handle their billing in house, a 3rd party billing company handles it. She said she would contact them to find out what was going on. This went on for a few months. Being told the dispute/appeal was filed on this or that date, only to find out it hadn't been. Finally, after leaving a voicemail informing RC I was going to write a review about the service I had received, Molly actually called me back. Not only did she call me back, but she has had their 3rd party billing company email me with an update. I actually received an email from Latasha with eAssist Dental Solutions. Latasha apologizes and say that Molly and Carol 'were under the impression that I had already filed the appeal for the claim.' Latasha then goes on to say that she 'just completed all the documents, and the appeal is set to go out today.' So now we have a third date, 6/10/21, 7/10/21, and 9/3/21 that the appeal has been filed. On 10/7/21 I called my insurance provider and was informed they had received the appeal and it was currently being reviewed. I was informed that a resolution date of 10/18/21 was scheduled. Of course, the appeal was denied. I called RC and they believe they are being generous by not charging me the amount that insurance 'should' have paid. Even though they knew the tooth was denied coverage when they gave me the quote. As I stated earlier I would NEVER had gotten the crown if I had been informed the procedure wasn't covered by my insurance. Coverage seems like very BASIC info, that should be provided to patients prior to any procedure. BUT RC DIDN'T PROVIDE THAT INFO. This is information the patient cannot find out for themselves, because of all the required coding. BE CAREFUL! read more

Seniors are out of luck! I recently moved to Grand Junction and Ruby Canyon Dental was highly recommended. I chose my new insurance partially because they accepted it. My first visit was great. Now , just two months later, they have stopped accepting any Medicare Advantage. Without warning! My friend had his checkup, X-ray, and cleaning and only then was informed they no longer accept his Medicare Advantage insurance. read more

I was here back when the name was Oral Health Partners. Hopefully with the name change, they have upgraded their service practices. I waited in an empty waiting room for 40 minutes before I was called back. The staff was friendly, but the dentist was incredibly rough while cleaning my teeth. And I had pain for weeks after my two fillings (which as my new dentist told me, is because they were done improperly). I was way overcharged. My portion after insurance was nearly $300. And I still cant get them to send my x-rays to my new dentist... read more

Everyone was pleasant and the office is new and clean. I can't however justify the cost of their services. My 18 month old son was seen for the first time in December. We waited an unusually long time (nearly 40 minutes) before being seen; I was told this was due to some confusion/being short staffed. The hygienist we saw was apologetic so we moved forward without issue. Until I received the $190 bill. The actual appointment lasted all of 15-20 minutes and included a teeth cleaning, fluoride treatment, and some Q&A with the dentist. Mind you however, I was there with a one year old; he allowed the hygienist to brush one or two teeth before he was visibly upset and crying (I'm sure the 40 minute wait was largely to blame, as most kids his age don't have a long "shelf life" if you will in these situations) and I had her skip the flossing altogether. That didn't stop them from billing me $57 for the "cleaning" alone. It took me several phone calls to finally get that $57 refunded, which was even more ridiculous. Not one of the employees I spoke to when trying to sort out the billing issue was apologetic or empathetic to my complaint. The office manager that was finally able to resolve it even told me at one point, "Well, that's our rate." Obviously that is fine, even if I believe it to be a total rip off; the point is that the service you're charging for was hardly rendered. Be reasonable, people. We don't currently have him on our dental insurance plan, so of course we were expecting to pay for the visit out of pocket, but never would I have guessed it would cost that much. (Obviously, this first time mama learned her lesson: call first, idiot.) It's genuinely ironic though that it's so strongly encouraged/recommended to have your toddler seen early and every 6 months in order to get them used to/comfortable with the experience, yet at Oral Health Partners the cost alone would easily deter/exclude most families from being able to do anything of the sort. It feels like highway robbery, if you ask me. We'll definitely be going elsewhere....unless they decide to send me a $100 gift card with his next cleaning reminder. read more

Be very weary of this dentist. I brought in a coupon for a $99 exam and x-ray. I confirmed not only once but three times with three different people that this coupon would be good for what I needed done as I have no insurance unfortunately at this point in time. After seating me in the chair and getting me through the whole process. I was informed that that coupon would not be good for what I needed done "A dental exam and X-ray" but was meant only for a comprehensive exam. No where on the coupon does it say this! I politely denied the comprehensive exam and said " No thanks, I'm here for an isolated tooth only. Can we please deal with the problematic tooth for now. I was informed that the cost would be more and the coupon would not be able to be used! What a waste of time with a cracked tooth and exposed nerve to have to deal with the dentist to try to take you for every dime they can instead to help a person out. I was willing to pay the coupon price no issue it's just goes to show the scruples of this dentist. You've been warned! read more

Let me start by saying the reception staff are very pleasant and polite, the hygienist was also a sweetheart. The reason I am giving this place such a bunk review is because of the way their billing works. I can't think of a better way to explain it other than if you go there for a simple cleaning, they will give it a fancy name so they can bill your insurance double. I went there for an annual cleaning, they told me things looked good, but I could benefit from what they called a "deep cleaning". So I unwittingly agreed to this and the next thing I know I'm getting bills in the mail for damn near $1000. $1000 and all I have done was got a cleaning. Perhaps this is kind of my fault for not knowing what a "deep cleaning" was, but they certainly didn't warn me that it was a costly procedure, or the fact that my insurance doesn't cover such pleasantries. After a couple months of trying to get my insurance to cover this I gave up and had to swallow the money. They also told me that my daughter, who was 5 at the time, that she had a cavity which needed a filling. When I got a second opinion, the second dentist did confirm there was a cavity, but stated that it was so minor that she would most likely lose the baby tooth before the cavity ever gave her a problem. Which leads me to believe these guys are just a bunch of greedy money hungry savages. Overall, like I said at the beginning, the staff were nice enough. But I would caution anybody visiting here to know exactly what they are performing on you, exactly what they are billing you for, and exactly what your insurance covers before hand. Otherwise you may get blindsided by some hefty bills. read more

I really, really LOVED this place while I was there, but I regret going there now. I left a 5/5 feedback a few months back, because their office was amazing and their staff was great and I can't even express how much I loved Dr. Dean and Kayla but even let the fact that they repeatedly would lose my Credit Card info because their awful billing department, but I at this point I'm furious about it, and as much as I don't want to, I'm going to have to find a new dentist in town. I would highly recommend going here if you're going to be paying out of pocket, and PAYING A LOT because it's very expensive to go here, but I was ok to pay extra because of the lovely staff, but if you need a payment plan for braces or extensive work and need monthly payments, go somewhere else. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE!! Dr Dean should retire and has zero bedside manner. He is rude and talks down to children. My daughter was in surgery for over 2 hours and he kept yelling at her. She is an anxious child and I told him that I did not like how he was speaking to her. I had a terrible feeling about him after I took my son for a visit and should never have brought my daughter here, too. I cannot believe he is the the ONLY pediatric dentist at this place. read more

If I could give this business less than one star, I certainly would. They don't deserve even one star. I took my teenaged daughter to Oral Health Partners to have two cavities filled. She received the worst dental care we have ever experienced. I am having to take her to a different dentist to fix the mess Oral Health Partners made of her mouth. To add insult to injury, we are being over billed. Before the work was done in her mouth I was told that my portion of the bill (she has insurance) would be almost $200.00. I was quoted this figure four different times. Imagine my surprise when I was billed an additional $80.00. I am disabled, in a wheelchair, and have a very limited income. I did manage to send a partial payment into them, with a letter that it is going to take me some time to come up with the additional money. I got a phone call today from their billing person. She was both rude and insulting. She informed me that I "make no effort to pay my bills"! She said the partial payment I sent in was "piddly". She was not interested in what I was told by Oral Health Partners staff when I paid what I was told was my full responsibility. She told me that wasn't her job to respond to my over the top complaints. Her job was to tell me what I owed. She told me I was being "over the top" by insisting that Oral Health assured me that when I paid the initial bill that was my entire responsibility. Several times she called me "dramatic", and "over the top". She even said I need to bring my daughter back for more dentistry! I am astounded by the crass treatment I am being subjected to by Oral Health Partners. If you value your money and your self-respect DO NOT GO TO ORAL HEALTH PARTNERS. read more
