(Unfortunately, both times, this friend-of-a-friend was not working.) The shop itself is stuffed to the brim with tourist-y goods--nothing really that I would have an interest in. We just had a cross-country drive from WA this summer and just couldn't believe we actually made it! :D Wanted to get some t-shirts at the lighthouse gift shop but they were already out of my son's size and getting ready to close up for the season. Was delighted to see this cute gift shop on our way back to the highway! Stopped by and was greeted warmly by the shop's owner, Junia. Ended up buying a lot of nice things including fleece vests for the three of us with the lighthouse logo, delicious chocolate covered blue berries, magnets and a dish towel. Junia told us we could also order online. We'll be browsing the gift shop website for gift ideas this Christmas!

They also have ice cream and it is made locally. The cost is great and not over priced for the souvenirs. The shop is full of interesting things -- one can get full sets of dishes and I saw a beautiful black flapper dress. We ended up with 4 interesting LP's (yes, we own a record player) and a working Cross pen and pencil set. If you are really Downeast, make the stop.
