Such a kind heart and an amazing chocolatier. A must have is the hot chocolate. We are ruined for hot cocoa - this place makes liquid gold in the form of chocolate. We left with many gifts and a few for ourselves.

It honestly felt like walking in an adult candy store. Service was phenomenal. We were greeted right away and the cashier girl told us some cool fun facts about the spot! I bought some truffles for $14 and I honestly wish I would've bought way more. We got other chocolates (not pictured) and they were all delicious. There's hot coffee and, during the busy season, assorted baked goods in addition to Greenlaw's chocolates. The chocolates are classic, simple preparations - imagine pecans, almonds, or cashews covered in chocolate, or dry local berries in chocolate. Greenlaw's 72% chocolates are dark and smooth, though he offers milk chocolate for those who like their chocolate a little sweeter. Greenlaw doesn't try to follow fashion in chocolate-making, earning him a following amongst people like my mom, who adore the comfort of familiarity. The peppermint patties are one of the most interesting versions I've tasted. Dark chocolate envelops flaky mint - they aren't smooth and creamy but enjoyably chalky with tiny flecks of salt that contrast the sweetness of the patty. In terms of the lobster ice cream, it pretty much tasted like vanilla ice cream with frozen bits of minimal lobster (so the ice cream tasted slightly salty). For the blueberry ice cream, we had to come back to get it a second time--so rich and creamy, full of blueberry flavor at just the right sweetness. Once you walk in, the store is structured in a clockwise circle to help with moving/organizing the line as it gets busy during the summer months. No seating inside but there are some benches outside along with the park not too far away. Overall fairly yummy ice cream, just pretty expensive! Prices start a bit above ~$8 + tax, at the lowest tier, which is a kiddie size in a cup, sugar cone, or cup cone.

I needed something sweet, cool and refreshing, so I got a "kiddie" size Mocha Double Double ice cream cone with a round piece of signature chocolate on top, a nice touch. The Mocha Double Double ice cream had a nice creamy texture with good rich chocolate (ripples) and coffee flavours with chunks of chocolate espresso in the ice cream. This refreshing sweet treat was definitely what I needed to tide myself over for more shopping before suppertime.

Finding a proper boutique in St. Andrews that isn't filled with souvenirs was lovely. We bought a couple of goodies here, but seriously, I had to control myself as everything looked like it was out of a magazine. We also got to chat with the owner, who was so friendly and welcoming. She told us more about her vision for the store, her dreams, and future plans. If you're visiting the town (or even a local), definitely pop in for a visit.
