I went into the store on a whim as I had the day off. I spoke to a very nice young woman by the name of Ashley, she was new and clearly wanted to be helpful. Unlike the rest of the high schoolers/ commission based sales staff. I decided on a regular iPhone 14, here comes the best part, stick with me now, they said it will just take s few minutes for us to transfer your old phone data to the new phone, lol! FOUR HOURS LATER... they still had no idea when my phone would be finished. It turns out they we're using the slowest possible method of transfer via apples airdrop feature. Finally after being held hostage all afternoon I said I've had it and I no longer wanted a new phone. Well, wouldn't you know they had no idea how to stop a transfer and return my phone as it was. So I asked if I could just take the new phone home and do it myself. And unlike those buffoons I used iCloud. It took me 15 minutes. I was enraged. I had to return to the scene of the crime the next day to ensure I'd get credit for my trade in. Again, one of their other under qualified cracker jacks insisted I buy a new charging cable because anything but the newest usb-C to lightning charger would damage the new iPhone. What a load of malarkey. Do yourself a favor and skip this place entirely! These guys make the geek squad look like Tony Stark level geniuses!

A quick search yielded these guys who were along our route, and we made the quick stop. And were the first ones there when the doors opened that morning. Don't let the location or look of the shop fool you, these guys were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They had a pretty good product selection - I got my used iPhone 7 at a good price (it looked almost brand new). And the counter guy even helped me switch SIM cards, and made sure everything was working to my satisfaction. We were in and out in 20 minutes, and continued along our drive without missing a beat. Sadly, we don't live nearby or I would be a more frequent customer. If you live in the area, then this should be on your list of handy resources for your cell and tablet needs. Not long before closing up shop sometime in March 2019, I had my iPhone battery replaced. It was $79.99. Within a month, something in my phone starts rattling around. A short time after that the phone had issues accepting the power to the form the lightening cable. I called Phone Wizard who I discovered had gone belly-up. So I took it elsewhere. These folks opened up my phone and told me the following: "Your battery is is barely connected by a tiny power cord to the rest of the phone. That's what rattling around. Also, whoever put the battery in gave you a used battery that was literally glued in place." Totally unacceptable. I had to pay $60 for another (new) battery because the good folks at Phone Wizard seemingly had at best had no clue what they were doing, or at worst willfully screwed me over. Shame on these people and their business practices.

Do yourself a favor and stop in here if you are in the market for a computer. Get local service and support, get a good product at a good price, and support a local business. Computer Answers is located in the corner of the Price Chopper/Columbia Plaza strip mall on Columbia Turnpike (9&20). You may not have noticed it, but it is worth seeking out. Bright blue LED lights are now installed around the shop windows to help draw your eye. Inside, the store itself is a no-nonsense tech-oriented shop that skips the mood lighting, Muzak, and other frills. What it offers instead is excellent service for computer sales, repairs, and upgrades. Computer Answers offers good values with a selection of refurbished desktop and laptop computers with warranties at good prices. So, why buy a computer here, instead of online, for from a big retail or a Big Box store? Here is my first hand experience as a reason: I was helped with my purchase decisions by Kevin who works in the shop during daytime hours. Kevin was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with information about the computers offered for sale. What differentiates Computer Answers from the normal retail store is on-the-spot personalized service. I wanted to upgrade the laptop from its standard 4 GB of memory to 8 GB. Kevin quoted me a great price, and 10 minutes later, two name brand 4GB memory boards were installed in the laptop.. Kevin pointed out that the 32-bit OEM version of the Windows 10 operating system installed on the computer could only utilize 4GB of memory. So, Kevin is upgrading the the operating system to the 64-bit system so that I will get the value I paid for for the memory upgrade. Thanks, Kevin. I don't think a Big Box store would offer such knowledge and service. Oh, yeah, and Microsoft Office came per-installed and registered on the computer. That's not a 30-day trial either, that's usable software included in the purchase price. The shop offers a 6 month warranty with a computer purchase, and up to three-year warranties are available if desired. They will also migrate files from your old computer to your new one as part of the purchase price. I heartily recommend that you check out Computer Answers in East Greenbush as part of your research when shopping for a new computer. I am glad I did.

I was told that they would call me with the dianosis and estimate after they had looked at it, would which take at least three days. When I hadn't heard anything in a week, I called, mainly to make sure they had my correct phone number. Again, I was told that someone would look at it and get back to me shortly. Okay, fair enough. A week later, after hearing nothing, I called back. I was told that the tech "has it on his desk" and would get back to me. THREE WEEKS LATER and nothing. I called and spoke to the tech. He said he would look at it and call me "later today." That was on a Thursday. By the following Saturday, I hadn't heard back, so I went in and asked them to just give me the PS3 back. The story is also dirty and the work area is a pile of junk, electronics, and random parts. Other people have mentioned things being lost and broken and I can see why. Your millage way vary but if I were you, I'd take my electronics literally anywhere else.

Needless to say this kid did not know too much about what I was looking for. They had some of the stuff, but they are moving away from that kind of thing to cell phones and cameras. Circuitry is what most of our modern world is made of, and remarkably tons of this stuff to interact with circuits is out there waiting to be discovered.
