The atmosphere is a combination of old charm (hardwood floors and finishes) and up-to-date books and merchandise. The salesperson was informative, friendly and kind. And they have cats!!!! Long story short, the water line was not installed properly and leaked massive amount of water behind the drywall, under the wood floor and heavily saturated the carpet and the owner is hesitant to do anything about it. He gives me "this happened at our house and everything was fine, I've been around a long time and have had my own experiences" BS. He send over fans and a carpet cleaner.......4 days later.......i have known the Shaws a long time and when it wasn't the sons running it was a great business. Instead I get "what do you want me to do?" Ummmmm. If you have had so many experiences you should know what to do. Instead I had to tell him to send someone other then an employee "contractor or someone in construction field" to take care of it. Kudos to the salesman, the only asset at Shaws. Otherwise stay clear of this place. The only and last thing we buy from this establishment.
