Spent the weekend here for our babymoon before our little one gets here. Both Yvonne and Ian were…read morehelpful and friendly upon our arrival and throughout our stay. We stayed in one of the cabins. It had a small front porch and a small deck out back with a table and chairs. The living area is quite large with a wood burning fireplace, a coffee table that pulls up into a higher table for eating, a tv/dvd player, a pull out couch, a CD player with a few discs, and then on the far side of the room is the jacuzzi tub and a rocker. Off of the living room is the bedroom with a very large bed already made with comfy linens as well as a rocker, small closet and chest of drawers. On the backside of the cabin is a small room with two robes, extra pillows, a small sink, mini-fridge (stocked w/water bottles and a few different sodas), a small coffee pot with coffee, and a few snacks, and a couple of mugs and glasses. Just past that is a shower with a glass door and the toilet and sink. It was very spacious. There was firewood set for us to start a fire once we got settled in, as well as a bin of firewood outside for more as needed. In the main house there is a cozy sitting area. There were a few board games and an array of dvd's to take back to your room if you want to relax and watch a movie. That is also where the dining area is for breakfast. (included with each night's stay) BABYMOON PACKAGE ONLINE DETAILS Our two-night package includes: A two-night stay in one of our luxury cottages with king-size bed, fireplace, two-person Jacuzzi-style whirlpool tub, entertainment center, and private deck Refrigerator stocked with bottled water and soft drinks Homemade cookies and snacks Massages for Mom and dad Romantic dinner basket delivered to the cottage one night Jar of pickles for Mom and candies for Dad A White Oak Inn souvenir stuffed animal for baby *All was included except for jar of pickles during our stay The dinner basket was delightful. Everything tasted warm and fresh. Ours included a fruit and cheese plate, half a loaf of bread, salad, two cornish game hens served over a bed of orzo, a bottle of sparkling cider, as well as two cookies and two slices of cake. YUM! We didn't have to get out in the cold, it was delivered right to our front door. Breakfast both mornings were tasty and plentiful. Day 1: Coffee, Juice, a fruit plate, muffins, asparagus frittata, blueberry oatmeal pancake and bacon. All so good. Day 2: Coffee, Juice, fruit plate, pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, maple sausage patty, herbed eggs and french toast with a berry compote on top. You will not leave this place hungry breakfast or dinner. The masseuse came to our room for our massages. She brought her massage table and put on some light music. We went one at a time. First me then my husband. Both were each an hour long. Only thing I was slightly disappointed about was that it wasn't one of those pregnancy tables that has a hole in the middle for your belly so I had to lay on my side which isn't as comfortable. Had to use a few pillows between my legs and under my head. It's just not ideal, especially for someone like me who was 37 week pregnant, and it's hard/painful having to roll from one side to another. Other than that it was still good, this was my husband's first massage and he enjoyed his as well. Not that it mattered to us but there's not really good phone service here and wifi is only available in the main house. If you need to make a local call though there was a phone in the sitting area in the main house. Definitely recommend for a relaxing get away.

This was a last minute decision to plan a week or two in advance. I called for two days, but they…read moreprovided me a deal for 3 days and I accepted the deal. When you drive to the location, it's easy to locate. You drive past the winery, and go to the end of the hill and you will see a sign that says Carriage house 1 & 2. There is two carriage houses that share a pavilion at the bottom of the back yard. The place is beautiful inside. At the top it has a large living room and kitchen area. They have a restroom on the main level, a porch with seats and a grille on the main floor. Upstairs there is a little nook where seating is available, 2 bedrooms and a master bathroom with a jet tub, and shower. The lower level has a bar, yes a bar, and a center section that allows you to huddle, bathroom, and 2 bedrooms. Outside of the area is a lower porch, which has a hot tub. Warning about the hot tub, when you first get in it, it's 120 degrees. Take the top off and let it cool down. It will cool down a lot and feel much better over time. It's nice to relax with the tub. They have a lower section that has a fire pit and seats available. In the back of the house there is trails which has a broken bridge. We went through the stream to get to the other side. I have a bad knee, but made it through fine. :) If you are seeking Internet usage, this is a bad cabin to get access. There is no Internet at the cabin, that's a good or bad thing. In downtime, we are used to having Internet usage. However it's tough when you want it and can't get it. Verizon is the better service, but I had no access. However some mornings I'd wake up with some notifications that went through some how. If you want Internet, go down the drive way and you can obtain a little access, exit the driveway and walk to the top of the hill and I've picked up a great signal there. If you want better access, go out to the Indian Bear Resort over near the lake, but walk towards the winery but stop in the center and the service is perfect there. I've added a image of where that it's good at. My only ask or recommendation to Indian Bear Resort, maybe offer Internet service. It would be nice and helpful, but I understand being off-line can be a request and need as well. Now the lake area is pretty nice as well. Lots to do up there. You can get on kayaks, small boats etc; It allows you to swim and or boat around. This is nice. The only downside is the days that we went had a large group that would "HOG" all of the boats and would leave with a mess. Overall it was a pleasant stay and nice to get away after all of the COVID quarantine. I highly recommend coming here. We loved spending time around the pool table, hot tub, and on the deck enjoying the serene setting. The pond was everything we wanted and more with kayaks, beautiful for swimming and sitting by and enjoying the beautiful water. So thankful it was close to home, yet was the getaway we were looking for. The staff was incredibly helpful and got us wood for fire and were available for all our questions and needs. I say "mostly clean" because the shower curtain in the upstairs bath could have used a good scrubbing, or better yet, been replaced altogether. I'm not a fan of shower curtains in lodging type places as it is, but if they are going to use them, I would even replace them after every couple guests or so. They can be purchased very inexpensively. But I prefer a door on the tub or shower, anyway. The sauna also didn't get as hot as I thought it would, unless we were doing something wrong, which is absolutely possible. :) But still was nice to sit in the warmth. We stayed at the Village Dreams wing and it faces the main road. It can get noisy with traffic but the sound of the air con acts as white noise to drown it a little. We cannot seem to control the temperature of the air conditioning so it gets very cold (it is summer now) and then we had to turn it off completely. Aside from these minor inconveniences, we were very impressed, it's great for larger families or group getaways. The main tourist shops are just outside your door!

They made us feel like family or like new good friends! Their hospitality is excellent! From the moment we walked in, Sue greeted us with a warm and friendly smile and made us feel welcomed. Larry is also very friendly and made us feel at home. That's nice because my wife said from now on when we come up to Amish Country, this is our home and this is where she wants us to stay. We stayed in the French Country room which was so big and spacious and has a private balcony to enjoy the peace and quiet of the area. The king size bed was very comfortable to sleep in. It has a private bathroom with a jacuzzi tub in it. The only thing we didn't like or feel too comfortable with, was the bathroom door. It's a sliding door that doesn't completely close and give you privacy when you're going to use the bathroom. But, it's not a big deal because the rest of the room was beautiful and spacious. From the moment we walked into our room, my wife couldn't believe how beautiful the room looked and told me I did a great job picking out this room. (I redeemed myself from the last place I picked out for us to stay at which was a terrible B & B in Bucyrus that we'll never go back to). Larry & Sue fixed us a great breakfast the next morning. Before we ate, Larry said grace with us thanking God for the food and all of God's blessings on us which we thought was amazing and we were so glad that Larry did that, since my wife and I have always prayed together over our meals and give thanks and together every night before we say good night, we pray together. We had pumpkin pancakes that were so good, we ended up going and buying some of the pumpkin pancake mix at this nice little country store Sue told us about called Ashery's.
