Service was TERRIBLE. Hostess threw her hands up like we were bothering her time, waiter took 10 minutes to initially show up and again to bring our drinks and didnt even ask us if we were ready to order, waitress finally came after another long period of time. And after our food was brought we never saw a waiter/waitress again. We had to go to the register to get our ticket from the waiter who disappeared only to reappear to cash us out. And the hostess was nowhere to be found in the meantime as she was positioned at said register. All of this may have been okay had the food been at least good, but it was mediocre at best. Smothered Grilled chicken was dry and seasoned like I wouldve gotten it out of a gas station and a burger I couldve made better at home. Save your money. Find a better spot. read more

Simply put... The MOST AMAZING DELICIOUS food in Del Rio! Their service, waiters and waitresses, managers are phenomenal! You will never eat anywhere with a better staff! They are extremely nice, right there to take care of you, checking on you very regularly and bring a picture of ice tea, (they have excellent sweet tea), with them everytime they check your table! You have never had better, more courteous service anywhere and everyone working are friendly and make sure you know they appreciate your business! You never have to look for a staff member if you need them, usually your waitress or waiter is close by. Everything is amazing, I love the Sportsman Plate. The grilled quail and fried frog legs are the best I have ever eaten anywhere! Grilled shrimp is kick ass as are their steaks! They know how to season the meal they cook! Last time we tried the Armadillo Legs and never had any type of popper that came close to their deliciousness! We took Armadillo Legs and Frog Legs home for later since we ate so early. We've been eating at Cripple Creek once or twice a year, on average, for over 20 years. During this time their staff has always remained top notch, hard to believe but if anything they may have gotten better! We're 100 miles away or we would eat there a lot more. Normally we go for our Anniversary and/or birthdays. Go at 5, the earliest, and you will thank me. It's quieter with fewer customers just starting to filter in. Around 6 the crowds are pouring in & they fillup quick with customers waiting outside for a table. The busy crowd doesn't stop until closing time basically, we've seen them have to turn customers away 30 minutes after closing. This place was mid at most. When we got here there wasn't many people here but they had music playing, and it was a very welcoming place. When we sat down our we ordered our drinks and hung out. When we eventually ordered our food it took a very long time to get the food out to our table. The apps we got were very salty and didn't have much flavor besides it being salty. We had to wait for our food for about 45 minutes from when we ordered to when it got to our table. The food was once again very salty. I got the chicken fried chicken and I had to take off the crust because it was way too salty for my liking. Do not recommend the chicken fried chicken. To start we had the Armadillo Legs - Baked jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and bacon topped with our house sauce, Onion Rings, and the Seared Ahi Tuna Sashimi. The rings were actually amazing, the legs were a fun version of something found in other places, the tuna was good and an odd find for Del Rio. For the main, I chose the mesquite grilled ribeye (12oz) that came with a baked potato you could top your way and some asparagus that was a tasty add. Dessert was a Molten Lava Cake that was perfect. Certainly not the best place I have ever been to, but for the especially limited options in the Del Rio area I would consider this to be a hit. My family and I visited Cripple Creek for my birthday and I have to say it was the best decision we made. The food was great and the service was even better. The food took forever. People that arrived after our table with larger parties were served and leaving by the time our table of 4 finally got the food. Steak and shrimp were lukewarm and the fries were the only thing hot. We tried to politely bring our issues to the waitress but she ignored our concerns. We asked to speak to a manager and after waiting for another extended period of time, we received the same disregard. While in Del Rio for a short getaway, we chose this restaurant for dinner on the night of our anniversary. It did not disappoint. We made reservations and we were seated fairly quickly once we arrived. This is one busy restaurant, but for the most part, everything went smoothly. I chose the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and everything was very good, with enough food for another meal. My husband opted for the ribeye steak and loved it. The iced tea was also pretty good and they offered a nice military discount. The service was pretty good considering how busy they were - a few hiccups - but nothing major. The weirdest thing here was that the women's restroom had two commodes but nothing separating them for privacy, so essentially only one woman could use it a time. I found this quite interesting. We don't regret selecting this place for our anniversary dinner! We had a nice meal. read more

Great restaurant! Kept hearing everyone saying that it is good since arriving locally so finally decided to give it a try, worthwhile. It is located on 90 fwy near loop 79 next to Del Rio Fisherman's. They do have an outside parking lot that are unmarked so just be cognizant of others so you don't take up too much space that can park another car. Dinner time is very busy but I was still able to find a parking spot. The interior decor is retro yet pleasant, with a bar in the middle and TVs hanging at the top. Quite noisy so probably not the best place if you'd like private conversations. Ordered the filet and the wedge salad. The filet is well cooked with a piece of bacon around the steak, the meat is extremely tender and juicy, while the side sweet potato fries (you can also pick a few other options) are fabulous. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. Also observed a lot of birthdays since the waiters and waitresses will bring a cake with a candle and go to the birthday person's table to start clapping and singing happy birthday. Ehh, overpriced steaks, meals. They charge this because there is nothing else like this in town! It's considered a fine dining restaurant but, it really isn't to me. It's been a staple to del rio for a very long time. Service is always good. Drinks are okay. Food is okay, nothing special about it and prices are very expensive. The service was spot on! The margarita I found the price for the small $9.50 high, but it was yummy. We had the 8 oz steaks and it they were both cooked to perfection with amazing flavor. Let me start off by saying our server Anna Marie is the best server we have had in Del Rio. She was amazing!!! So if you do decide to go here I hope you get her and her great service!!! I couldn't finish that one either, but could not complain to our amazing server again. My husband got the Spicy Diablo Margarita and he said it was better than the others but was not crazy about it. We just ordered shots of Gentlemen's Jack. As far as the food goes here, not the best. Not terrible. My husband had the filet mignon and he said it wasn't bad, but not great. He said Texas road has a better steak He's had steak all over the world. Not that he doesn't have a sophisticated palate that he thinks Texas road house is the best lol. I had the mozzarella sticks, fried jalapeños, and salad with blue cheese since I am vegetarian. Anna Marie recommended the combination of the mozzarella sticks and the fried jalapeños and she was not wrong! Delicious the blue cheese dressing was watery and not the best. The food is always outstanding. I ate there for about a year once or twice a week. The price is fair and it's hands down the best steakhouse or restaurant in Del Rio. The service is very good as well. They can get very busy and still the food is hot the service friendly. The ambiance is was you would expect in small border town Texas and they always treated me well. I will miss my 2 nights a week there. The owner sent this over to me and a dear friend of mine. I sat at the bar and ordered the house salad and mesquite grilled mahi mahi filet with baked sweet potato (salad comes with entree) for dinner. The mahi was fabulous! Delicious mesquite flavor, good sized portion and hearty. Loved the potato with sweet butter as well. Bartender was attentive and food came out quickly. But better also. We were table of 4, two large alcohol drinks, 12 oz Ribeye, 8 oz Filet mignon, fish tacos, and a burger. Salads all the way around and a dessert and two sodas. $120. We were celebrating wife graduation from Sul Ross. We live in San Antonio. If you think that is expensive, it is not. It is comparable to everywhere I eat. Top price goes to Tomahawk steak. Can't eat the bone so I don't know why anyone would order it. TASTE Great steaks. Son loved the tacos. And my 99.9% vegetarian daughter ate the burger. Upon arrival the atmosphere was loud. We were greeted with smiles and courtesy at the host station. We were quickly seated, however, it took 10 minutes before we were approached by a man server. We seemed pleasant but quickly took our drink order and left. All he did was drop drinks off and left. Very abruptly. After delivering are drinks, we politely stated that we would love to order. He stated that he was just the drink order person that our food server would be shortly. When we received our main entrees. We asked if we could have a few rolls with our meals and to our disappointment he stated very a matter of fact that the would be ready in 20 minutes and that the were complimentary. Normally I'd give it a five star rating. I've been here several times & have never been disappointed until this evening. I always get oysters on the half shell & they were surprisingly delicious (considering we're so far from the gulf). What was so disappointing was the bar tender. I ordered a beerita on the rocks. The first was on point. The second was AWFUL! Come to find out the bartender tried to make an "on the rocks drink" with the frozen margarita. Yuk! I sent it back & ordered a sprite in its place.
