Visited this place for lunch recently and it was a very good experience. I had eaten here some time back and hadn't take the time to review it. Overall, this is a good place to eat. My guests has the chicken and it was delicious as I was able to get a bite. I had the fish tacos and those were really good as well. Ordered Chicken Fried Steaks to go. I was given a time span for when they would be ready. I walked into the restaurant. As I did, the waitress brought out the bag with my order! I live about 12 minutes away. When I got home, both the meals were still deliciously hot! The food was tasty. The meat was tender. The sides were up to the same standard! Great meal at a great price. We really like this place, and it has delicious American style food, which is hard to find in Del Rio. The drinks are good, even the coffee, although last time I had coffee there , it changed and they just had powdered cream and the coffee was weak. 2.5 stars 100% agree with previous posters. Service is sad (the time to get food) and drinks are crazy expensive ($13 Grey Goose vodka tonic, that's how much I pay in downtown Chicago). Approximately 20 min wait for chips & guacamole and some of the chips were stale. Another 10-15 minutes for 2 tacos, lukewarm beans and cold, dry rice. Shame since the food (guac, beef taco meat al carbon, cheesecake) had good flavor. I will not return for sit down service and slim possibility if it's a to-go order and I'm desperate. I came into Del Rio on a work trip and was looking for a place to have a drink get something to eat. I saw this place on yelp and figured I'd give it a shot. The menu is plentiful and everyone can find something they like, The bar is more than capable of handling any drink order, and the staff was amazing. Blue Oasis is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in Del Rio. However the last two times I've eaten here, I waited 60 minutes and 75 minutes for my food (for a party of 4). The first time (60 minutes for food), we were warned by the waitress that the food would be a while, but we had some time so we chose to wait. It's sad that a waitress has to preface this to avoid losing her tip. This establishment has gone down hill in the past year or so. It lacks clear direction and any sort of management. The entire time we were there, we saw waiters and the bartender running around like crazy, but not a single manager. If you need more help, hire some. If need more equipment, buy it. It's that simple. Waiting as long as we did is unacceptable (and the food is cold anyways!) and will ultimately kill off this establishment like anyother good thing Del Rio has ever had. Very sad to see where Blue Oasis has gone. read more

Blue oasis is a very unique place in Del Rio. Reason being is it has a wide variety menu, top tier staff, and most importantly cold beer! At times it does get busy but that's because everyone loves this place. I definitely rate it the #1 restaurant in Del Rio. During my most recent visit there I had the teriyaki bone in wings, shrimp tacos, and draft beer. Everything was excellent when it comes to portion size and flavor. I had an amazing staff with Jaymie behind the bar, Briana, Briana & Jesli as the hostess and waitress's and Eli as buss boy. If you are ever passing through check them out! read more

This is my second time visiting this restaurant. The (medium well) steak was delicious, juicy, and ready to be eating. The smashed potatoes and jumbo size shrimp was great too. I would order this again. The service was okay. They forgot to give us our utensils. We had to get it. Secondly, they took forever to give us our tab. I've been here several times while visiting Del Rio, Tx. It seems that both the food and the service has gotten worse over the last two years. The blond gal making drinks clearly hated Del Rio (she was complaining while on the phone instead of serving us) and seemed to feel she was much better than a cocktail waitress.... Sorry hun, you aren't. The kicker was when our party guests wrote a letter to the owner, the employees intercepted it and started refusing service to the guests in our group, even those that said nothing. Please learn from our mistake.... if the food sucks..... if the service sucks..... walk away and don't say anything because you will be refused service.... Yesterday, my husband ordered Blues' Oasis Philly cheesesteak that he loved, and i ordered a fantastic chickenfried steak. Thank you! Thankyou! Thankyou for keeping the gravy savory! A major steakhouse in San Antonio made everything sweet- the Italian dressing, the rolls , the butter (honey), even the gravy on my husband's chickenfried steak was sweet. Yuck. Blues' gravy was great- and i usually don't like gravy. The other key thing for me is that their batter was greatly seasoned and it was tendercrisp- it didn't break my teeth!! The iced tea had that pretty amber color and tasted Great! I loved my medley of vegetables. My salad was delicious! The only negative was that the mashed potatoes were dry (i left them on the plate. ) The texas toast was wonderful! Briana, our server was great! Good, solid bar food. This isn't gourmet or upscale or trendy, but it's great pub fare, good service, friendly staff, and good drinks. I recommend the turkey avocado and bacon sandwich served on toast with hand cut fries. The sandwich is so fresh, the meat plentiful and good quality, the tomato and avocado are ripe. Large portions. On my first night in Del Rio, we went to the Blue Oasis Bar & Grill based on Yelp recommendations. I can't give this place enough praise: they set the bar really high for the rest of the restaurants I tried while in Del Rio for two weeks. I had the fish tacos. They were cooked well and seasoned nicely. You also got a decent amount of fish for the price. I think the plate had three fish tacos for a reasonable price. The chipotle sauce that was drizzled on my tacos was really good. For me, that sauce makes or breaks a dish and the Blue Oasis surpassed my expectations. One of my dinner companions had a steak. She ordered it medium well but there were parts that were well under medium and others that were more on the well done side. That was prolly disappointing. Uneven cooking aside, the steak itself was huge, so that's a good thing I suppose. Our server was friendly but there were times where I had to physically track her down to get a refill on water and the like. She was also minding the bar for whatever reason (our table was closer to the kitchen so we were out of her line of sight), so that's understandable. It wasn't poor service, she was just busy at times. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some good fish tacos in Del Rio. Based on my own dining experience, I'd return to that place in a heart beat. I think the meal was slightly overpriced for Del Rio--which isn't much--but I'd gladly pay a little extra for that food. read more

Seems like a good start to a new restaurant in Del Rio. Their menu seemed just the right size. I would much rather a restaurant have a few things they do well versus everything they do mediocre. The wait staff was very prompt and attentive. The chef and restaurant owner came by twice to ensure our meals were what we expected. Unheard of in Del Rio especially. We only tried 2 items on the menu, however both were really good. Our only real complaint, and it should be prefaced with the fact that they are a new startup, was that our entrées came out at different times. While this works for us with kids, it might not work for someone else who is going there to enjoy a meal together. I think this will all be ironed out with time. read more

Came to Del rio to visit for the new year. We had such a great experience the first night, we had to go back once more before leaving the following night. The alligator bites were absolutely delicious, we made sure to order it again. I got the Baja fish tacos and that was good. We had to try their signature blue oasis drink from the bar and that was very well made and super tasty! I would definitely recommend this place!
