2.5 stars 100% agree with previous posters. Service is sad (the time to get food) and drinks are crazy expensive ($13 Grey Goose vodka tonic, that's how much I pay in downtown Chicago). Approximately 20 min wait for chips & guacamole and some of the chips were stale. Another 10-15 minutes for 2 tacos, lukewarm beans and cold, dry rice. Shame since the food (guac, beef taco meat al carbon, cheesecake) had good flavor. I will not return for sit down service and slim possibility if it's a to-go order and I'm desperate. There are other places in town with good food AND service. (Only went here because Manuel's closed Mondays.)

Blue oasis is a very unique place in Del Rio. Reason being is it has a wide variety menu, top tier staff, and most importantly cold beer! At times it does get busy but that's because everyone loves this place. I definitely rate it the #1 restaurant in Del Rio. During my most recent visit there I had the teriyaki bone in wings, shrimp tacos, and draft beer. Everything was excellent when it comes to portion size and flavor. I had an amazing staff with Jaymie behind the bar, Briana, Briana & Jesli as the hostess and waitress's and Eli as buss boy. If you are ever passing through check them out!

Nothing special. Burger was OK. Very LOUD. Looked as if it had a quieter section behind a room divider, but it wasn't offered to me.

My friend and I each ordered an appetizer and sandwiches. There was no one else in the dining room for a weekend lunch service, which should have been a clue. My friend's appetizer of kettle chips arrived after a long wait and they were overcooked/burnt in a few places. $11.95 for 36 burnt kettle (aka potato) chips with 2 dipping sauces. My appetizer of carne asada fries was a letdown. Both the fries and meat were overcooked and chewy. I've had carne asada fries before and these were not good. Maybe this is how they cook them? Friend had a turkey BLT panini, $12ish and the turkey meat was equivalent to a thin slice of meat you get in the Oscar Meyer pack. My chicken sandwich was the best thing we ordered, but the fries were cold and overcooked. I only ended up eating a few bites of the sandwich. The employees never stopped by to check in with us or anything. Total with 2 cans of soda plus tip was over $60. We won't be back. You can get better food and service for less at Chili's, Applebees or Wings and Rings. Hopefully this business can do better for future customers.

But peace and quiet? Off the charts. The air hits different out here--clean, wild, like it remembers what life's supposed to feel like. Sure, the cedar might ambush your sinuses, but the Hill Country more than makes up for it with its views, flowing water, and a pace that soothes the soul. Now let's talk The Chicken Coop--because this place was the hidden gem of the whole trip. Pulled up with the boys, dusty from the road and hungry from living. We barely stepped inside before we were shaking hands with the local Chief himself--friendly bloke, shook my hand like we'd grown up together chasing possums or something. That's the kind of welcome you can't fake. Ordered the chicken fried steak, and I mean this with every ounce of gravy-laced sincerity I can muster--this was one of the finest CFS meals Matt Simmons has ever laid fork to. Crunch on the outside like golden armor, tender on the inside like it'd been slow-danced to sleep in a cast iron skillet. The gravy? Rich, peppered, not too thick, not too runny--Goldilocks-level perfect. And the sweet tea? Don't get me started. It made me want to build a porch just so I could sit on it and drink this stuff all day. If they sold it by the gallon, I'd have loaded up the boot. Sometimes the best meals aren't in Michelin-starred restaurants or neon-lit bistros--they're in small-town joints where the food's made with pride, and strangers treat you like kin. The Chicken Coop reminded me: life's better when it's simple, hearty, and cooked in butter.

This one is a solid 3.8, with potential for more…read more I let Liz pick lunch in Ozona, and on a Sunday afternoon, she picked a very unassuming Destiny's Grill. Though small and quiet, this little grill puts out really good food. My daughter kept it simple with a dry cheeseburger. It comes with a side of fries that are cooked fresh, but maybe needed some time to breathe or dash a little bit of salt. The burger was cooked really well though. Noah enjoyed his carne asada tacos. Liz ordered the Potosino nachos, which were like a loaded nachos. Loaded means it came with beans, grill d tomato and jalapeno, thin slices of skirt steak, and cheese. It looked good, and I grabbed a few at the begining. I really enjoyed my Potosino plate. It was the same thing slices of skirt steak, grilled onion, jalapeno, and tomato that was on the nachos, but my plate came with Spanish and refried beans. (Same as Noah's kid taco plate). So, why the 3? It's a small place, and the dining area can be overwhelmed by a rush. Though the folks that knew were just getting food to go. There's about 7 tables/booths for 4 each, and it got crowded right after we sat down and ordered. Hey, if I can't get my coffee refilled without asking, well... Overall, I did enjoy the food. The place was clean and comfortable. It was the lack of speedy service was on no way a deal killer, but when you're on the EP to SA road trip time management can matter.
