Crisfield's is an old school family owned meat market and deli serving serious cuts of prime meats and making some delicious sandwiches. All the cooked food are homemade and the cuts of steak, pork and chicken are gorgeous. What's even better is that you can get most of this home cooked goodness as a sandwich. When we got to the door, the smell of grilled marinated chicken breast drags you in by your nostrils and you have to order it as they plop a whole tray of it on top of the deli case. You can get your sandwich on a round poppy seed roll or a wedge. If you order the cheesesteak or grilled steak sandwiches, ask for a side of the Peter Luger steak sauce. The tangy sweet sauce with horseradish is just perfect to go with the grilled beef. Prices are really reasonable. We only know about Crisfield's because we cut through the parking lot in Rye to get to Purchase St. Though their address is on Purchase St, the true entrance is tucked in the back on Purdy Ave and you can get to it from Elm Pl. You might get lucky and get a free parking space on Elm Pl or Purchase St, but otherwise you can try the pay parking lot on Purdy Ave. Either way, get here and get a sandwich! Down to earth prime meat shop. Crazy good chicken cutlets they cook outside when it's nice out. Always treated me well, staple of the city.

They make a decent sandwich and have good meats but the fact that you cannot stand in their store for more than 45 seconds without smelling like a grease trap for the remainder of the day made me drop the rating. They need better ventilation or should allow you to pickup at the window. read more

Let me start by saying I hate writing this review but what I hated more was being disappointed in my cooked turkey. I ordered a cooked turkey for the day before Thanksgiving. When I picked it up it was cold. In prior years when I picked up my turkey it was cooked that day and it was hot or warm when I picked it up. First disappointment! I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT I SHOULD HAVE SPECIFIED THAT I WAS GOING TO EAT IT THE DAY I PICKED IT UP. IT THEN WOULD HAVE BEEN HOT. Got home and decided to eat it since we were invited to someone's home after I had order this turkey. The breast meet was dry. The turkey was over cooked!! Second disappointment! That evening I warmed up a turkey wing on very low heat. My wife LOVES turkey wings. It was so over cooked it was inedible! Third disappointment! I called Crisfield's and was told they will let the chef know! I paid $75 for the smallest bird they sell (10lbs.). Fourth disappointment! I was not expecting them to refund my money, but they showed little concern that they delivered an over cooked turkey. I would have given one star except I have had great experiences in prior purchases. You earn your ratings one customer experience at a time. This experience was DISAPPOINTING' UPDATE- The owner called me to say how sorry he was that the turkey was over cooked. He said I called him on Thanksgiving morning and was surprised and extremely busy. I have adjusted the review to reflect that they were genuinely sorry for my experience. read more

I have never had a bad experience with my purchases from Crisfields. We purchase on a somewhat weekly basis. I most recently purchased some Sweet Italian Sausage. The Chicken Kabobs were amazing! I just popped my kabobs in some dressing for a little while. They came out Great. I'm actually hoping to grab a couple today for dinner. I also purchased several items to bring back to My Mom in Massachusetts. I'm looking forward to hearing from her how she liked the selections I brought her. Just moved to Westchester and surprised how hard it is to find a butcher shop that age steaks. Found this place on Yelp and gave it a shot as wife and I headed up to the in-laws. We picked up 2 aged bone in rib eyes and threw them onto the grill with some meat rub. They were just as good as any steak you would get in any steakhouse in manhattan. Awesome! Oh, while we were there, they also brought out free samples of in house made ham and corned beed. Both were delicious. Can't wait to go back there to try out other cuts. read more

Every time I've eaten here it's been delicious. Fresh food, and it isn't super salty. Everyone is super friendly in there. I work nearby and called in an order one time on a Sunday @8:30 not even realizing they open later and they gladly took it. I didn't know what time they opened until I noticed they were setting up when I got inside! I immediately apologized but the guy was so friendly and nice about it, stating they're a business too and they wouldn't turn down a customer. read more

Superior service! As some other reviewers said, this place is old school in the best way. The butcher chatted with us and gave us some great tips for cooking different cuts of beef. He seemed to know all the customers by name. While we were there a woman came in just to say how amazing the pork she bought there last week was. What a gem! If you're looking for top quality meats this is the place to go. If you don't see it in the display case, just ask--more than likely they have it in the back. Gone here for years, top quality and personal service. Pricey but worth it for the quality. They will marinate and you can pick up at the end of the day, ready to grill, broil or whatever. Also have a few vegies, milk, ice cream, crackers, etc. if you are pressed for time, not to mention sandwiches and other eat on the spot items if you're famished while doing errands or returning from work. read more
