Hadn't been here in about a year because I was getting disappointed with the steak sandwich and its size. Thought I'd give it another try today. Bad idea. Steak was even smaller and thinner than I remember in the bread and was overloaded with onions to make up for it and try and look bigger. Steak had zero flavor as well. I've eaten sandwiches here a few time and it's always been great. I recently heard about the option of having their famous steak and cheese on garlic bread and I HAD to try it! The buttery garlic bread is the perfect combination for the frizzled onions and cheese. This thing is out of this world! Highly recommend! I was in Greenwich for a business trip and seen all the rave reviews and had to try the famous tidbit sandwich. When I walked in, I was greeted instantly. The place is very small, but packed with some of the best looking meats I've seen in a while. I asked, the person what they recommended and I ordered the tidbit sandwich, medium rare with onions and cheese. Not knowing what to expect I stepped outside to make a call and it couldn't have been longer than two minutes and y sandwich was ready. The total was just about 20 with a drink, which unfortunately is the new norm in 2024. Sandwich was small. The filet mignon was overcooked and not seasoned at all but fresh. Being used to Philadelphia, I was expecting grilled onions, but was surprised with some really good battered onion rings. The amount of onion rings to meat ratio was 2 to 1. The roll was fresh and the cheese had no flavor but had melted. I tried like hell to identify it but was unsuccessful. Overall, just OK. The star here are the onion rings. I got a salad with grilled chicken. It was wack beyond belief. I know what you're thinking. "Who orders a salad from Greenwich Prime Meats?". Fair question. But if they don't know how to make a salad, they shouldn't have it on their menu. It was wet romaine lettuce, tomatoes and about 50 cents worth of chicken. Easily the weakest salad imaginable. Bring your wallet if you feel like paying over $30/lb for mediocre cuts of meat. Don't bother getting the "infamous" tidbit sandwich. You'll finish it feeling hungry still as it includes the smallest amount of meat for $17. It's pathetic. read more

Customer service HORRIBLE!!! We spent almost $80 on sandwiches for lunch and one was made incorrectly. Rather then trying to fix the situation or apologize, they yelled and accused us of placing the wrong order and would not even offer to fix or adjust! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! The attitude of the man on the phone was disgusting! Although the food was really good, the way they treat their customers just lost them an office-full! NEVER AGAIN! I'm writing a review because of the disrespect of whoever is in charge of the guys that work in the kitchen making sandwiches... who allows them to make a Cheap steak and cheese sandwich on a wedge. They charge $18 for a sandwich that has enough meat for sliders that you get at a bar (small finger food) what a disgrace and not to mention. There once was a legendary steakhouse in Greenwich. My parents took me there often. I did the same with my son. Greenwich prime meats takes you back to those days. The cheesesteak with frizzled onions on garlic bread ( extra ) will blow your mind. The stuffed chicken is read to cook and is unbelievably delicious. The Gorgonzola salad is crisp and fresh! Sometimes my sister-in-law and her husband come in from Manhattan and we drive from rowayton, simply for the joy of eating GP's steak sandwiches. Nothing comes close. Some say it's pricey. We have been loyal customers since this butcher shop was originally attached to a restaurant a mile or so down the road. Unfortunately, the restaurant was sold and the butcher shop had to move and take on a new name, but the quality is still there after all these years. This is our go to place when we are grilling. A BBQ would not be the same if we did not have burgers, shish kabobs, salad or onion rings from here. While their prices are high they relate to the area and the quality of the meats. Aside from meats they sell a simple, but amazing, Gorgonzola salad, onion rings, garlic bread, sandwiches, and other groceries. Their onion rings are great for topping burgers since they are less like rings and more like crunchy onion shavings. The salad is my addiction. I can easily make a meal out of that. Called in my first order for my husband's birthday today. The person I spoke to on the phone was patient and friendly. He made suggestions and did not try to oversell me for my family of 4. If you where a fan of Maneros steakhouse then you will love this place. It is set up by the butcher from Maneros. Same garlic bread, gorgon zola salad, aged meats and side dishes. You buy them and bring them home to prepare yourself. Yes not exactly the same, you have to cook it. But the flavor is the same. It is Greenwich so everything is a bit pricy but worth It.
