They have a nice website with information about the providers and the treatments they offer. You can also schedule an appointment online (yay!) and they offer text/e-mail alerts to remind you of upcoming appointments. They also accept most insurance plans (acupuncture is usually a covered benefit)! Sound View Acupuncture is located in West Seattle, kitty corner to the West Seattle Nursery. It is really easy to get street parking either right in front of the building or around the corner. They are located on the second floor of the Whole Health Center complex. They are open during COVID-19 and they are doing all of the recommended safety precautions. There is a chair outside where you can wait until your provider is ready. Once you go in, they take your temperature and there is hand sanitizer that you can use. I have been seeing Dr. Andrea Russell. She has tons of experience (including a Masters and a Doctorate), teaches at a local college, and is extremely passionate about her field. Dr. Russell is always happy to answer my questions about acupuncture, which makes me feel calmer about the whole process. I have also tried moxibustion and some Chinese herbs. He asked what I needed work on, and then assessed it and told me the game plan! He did a great job working on my problem areas. I was skeptical going in the time of COVID but my back was killing me and I couldn't put it off anymore. I workout a lot and my body was in need of some TLC. I booked my first appointment with Rachel and I have been back every month since I first started! Rachel is the best in getting out all of the kinks and applies the perfect pressure. In result of working from home since March, my posture and back were suffering. Rachel focuses on what you want her to focus on and gives recommendations on what to do outside of the massage to keep your body going strong and to eventually see some improvements. I've been listening to her recommendations and I already feel 10x better than I did before I started coming. She's a miracle worker! I am so thankful that I found this business last year. I had issues with fertility for almost two…read moreyears. I wanted to find a more holistic approach of getting pregnant before trying western medication and came upon this business via google. I initially inquired about their prenatal massage but ended up doing acupuncture as recommended by Vickie, a staff/owner of this business. Vickie came in contact with me as she traveled to the Tacoma location every Wednesday. In addition to the acupuncture services, she provided information on diet in relation to fertility. Vickie was great. She provided me comfort and validation during our sessions. Keep in mind that this is my personal experience and it may not necessarily work out for everyone but after 7 visits with her between January to March of 2021, I got pregnant. Due to Covid, I stopped going but I had planned to come back once I recovered from my pregnancy. Unfortunately, Vickie no longer travels to the Tacoma location which I am saddened by so I'll have to look into another acupuncturist.
