While her massage technique is good. This person did not provide a good treatment to me. She kept talking and leaving the room. It felt unprofessional. The microdermabrasion was not diamond tip. I was very uncomfortable and it was pricey for what was offered. She hurt me and made comments I felt were somewhat derogatory. I had to spend money getting an assessment and treatment from another aesthetician the very next day where my skin was nurtured and cared for much better! I have been going to see Aubra at Metamorphosis for a few years now. At first it was for an emergency blemish on my face which she fixed in one visit. Then it was for a deep tissue massage treatment for tight shoulders and knees. I'm a serious beach volleyball player and play 3-4 times a week in the sand, which takes a huge toll on my body. Aubra is able to break up the fascia and keep me healthy and able to play at a high level. Her technique is unsurpassed and she has a great bedside manner. My visit to this spa was on Saturday, May 17, 2014. I purchased a Groupon for one contouring body wrap, which cost me $59 and the wrap without a Groupon cost $120. After hearing lots of great reviews on getting a contouring body wrap, the benefits and results, as someone who is concerned about her weight appearance but not enough to try something like liposuction, I was eager to try a wrap. I poured over tons of other wrap deals on Groupon, to see which ones were cheaper, and I went onto Yelp to find reviews of them. Metamorphosis Holistic Spa was the only one with good reviews. The ONLY one, who also had a good reputation with the usage of the Groupon. When I called and scheduled the appointment, Aubra tried to sell me the home kit to help maintain the body wrap and ensure better results. I get it, she's a businesswoman, but I think that because it was so expensive it should have been included in the Groupon. I didn't have enough money on me to purchase it, so I didn't. And you don't have to either. It was a bit difficult finding the spa, but keep in mind I live up North and drove all the way from Whatcom County to Seattle, and I'm not a city person. But there were no deals that I was looking for in my home area, so I went to see what was available in Seattle. Aubra was so sweet and helpful, not sounding impatient at all or anything of the like as she helped me find the spa and park in a good spot. Since there's a lot of construction going on in the area, it was difficult to find. Word of warning: If you have difficulty finding the spa because you're not from Seattle, DO NOT leave your car in a paying lot and ask for directions, even if it's just for two minutes. I got a $43 fine for that. So my trip to Seattle was a lot more expensive than I would have liked, or dreamed, it would be. (Not Aubra's fault, my own, just word to the wise.) Aubra was super easy to get along with and sweet; she explained to me about enzymes, wheat/gluten, how the body reacts to the wrap, etc. during the process. I felt like she was talking a bit too much, considering it's a spa experience. She ended up asking me a lot of questions when she heard my career is in marketing and I have a successful marketing blog, which generally I don't mind because I love to help people, but sometimes it was just a little overboard. I'm at a spa to relax, not to be super talkative or even just listen. To get the wrap, you must be comfortable with wearing next-to-nothing and having her hands rub lotions and exfoliates up and down your body and around your butt cheeks. I don't mind, I am used to being naked in front of people due to my being on a competitive swim team, but if you aren't make sure to say so when you schedule your appointment. I didn't think of it and I think Aubra should have mentioned that you will be nearly naked. If you still want to do the wrap but are unsure about the near-naked part, bring a strapless bra and thong. You may feel more comfortable wearing your own undergarments that aren't (mostly) see-through. When she started putting the cling wrap on me, I felt really stiff and like a mummy. I also felt kind of itchy and warm, despite the cool temperatures inside the spa, which is totally normal and actually a good thing, because it means the wrap is working. Aubra offered to give me a head massage or facial as I laid on the spa table for 45 minutes, and THEN said that it cost money. She did say it's half-off if you get it while in the body wrap, but considering the obscure prices for it I was not interested (especially since I had to pay $43 for a parking ticket that I didn't plan on getting). I think if she offers those services, she should include them in the Groupon. While laying down and waiting for the 45 minutes to be over, I could feel the wrap working. Kind of hard to explain, but mostly I felt an intense, non-painful heat course through the parts of my body that were wrapped, and a bit of noise from my tummy, like the kind you hear when your stomach is talking to you because its hungry. I was surprised that it started to work so quickly. I checked out with ease, was told to not shower or bathe in 24 hours, (despite it saying about 10 hours on her website) and it's been about 8 hours since the wrap. When I woke up this morning I could see the difference in my belly, not so much the other areas, and a little bit on my butt. Overall, it was a good experience and I'd definitely schedule another one and refer her to friends and family. Important information you should know if you decide to make an appointment: -See if she's still selling her Groupon deal, and purchase it. It will save you lots of money. -As her website clearly states, drink LOTS of water beforehand. -You do not need to get the home care kit like she says you do beforehand. Save yourself about $70 (my price included shipping) and just stay off the white flour, red meat, processed sugars and carbonated drinks. Water will do you fine and good. read more

A wonderful gem of an establishment. The owner, Aubra, is highly skilled at therapeutic massage and I'm pretty sure she saved my knees. Over the past few years my knees had started to make weird "clicking" sounds when I went up stairs and just feel weaker than they used to. Being overweight probably doesn't help, but I'm still in my 20s and it felt a little early to have a serious problem like this. Aubra explained that sometimes joints can get pulled "off track" by stiffening fascia tissue and that a talented massage therapist can restore flexibility and the ability for the fascia to glide over the muscles like nature intended. She worked on my knees over two sessions and the results were nothing short of miraculous. The clicking sounds is now very faint and almost gone (and this after YEARS of living with the problem), and my knees feel so much stronger going up stairs. It's like I have a whole new set of knees! Apparently this problem can also affect other joints like hips - it's so sad that a lot of surgery could probably be avoided with the use of therapeutic massage like the kind offered at Metamorphosis Holistic Spa. I am so grateful that I found out about this place and will be able to keep my joints healthy for a long time to come! Metamorphosis was an incredible find! Aubra is very knowledgeable in whole body care and provides wonderful services. I have taken advantage of her contouring body wrap and what amazing results! I have been going to Aubra for massage for at least a dozen years now and always leave feeling better than when I went in. In particular, I broke my leg many years ago but still had internal adhesions that, though not painful, affected by walking. I had my first appointment with Aubra last night getting a body wrap and a facial. It was a very welcoming atmosphere and I felt comfortable. During the body wrap, I got my facial done, and received a neck massage. Today I woke with no more pain between my shoulders and my neck isn't stiff anymore. On top of that my skin is so soft on my face and my skin looks so much better. After one wrap I noticed my midsection went down. I am definitely going to be a returning customer. I received a facial from Aubra from her array of many kinds of facials ... she helped me choose based on my skin and age and lifestyle and eating habits. The facial I received had long-lasting effects - my skin felt soft, supple and moist longer than I remember others lasting, the muscles in my face felt toned and strong (she includes micro-toning with some of the facials).
