Christy is a certified master groomer and for Melbourne to have warranted someone of this caliber is a rarity in itself but we lucked out she has other reasons to call Melbourne her home. It amazes me the professionalism they all have as she, Alex and her team seamlessly handle the number of dogs they do with such attention to detail and the finished product is always the same. Gorgeous!! The precision of her cuts is beyond anything the majority of groomers have the knowledge or ability to do for starters but it's no secret with her credentials she takes limitless pride in her work as a professional groomer. It's always a Zen place to be. My dogs are not overly stressed from being pushed thru a process like cattle at a sale barn. She always gives my girls this beautiful style that compliments their body and hair type. When I saw the photos online of her work she had notably a significant difference in her grooming abilities. Her grooming is far and above the rest. There's no comparison to anyone in this area to have close to the training and natural talent she has. I have been professionally raising , training and showing dogs over the past 40+ years. I'm not just trying to write a cool review here with cool sounding words. I am BEYOND happy and so thrilled with how well my 6 month old Yorkie boy's first grooming appointment went this afternoon at Cristy's Grooming! Five Stars doesn't even seem like enough! After another (obviously sub-par and downright rude) groomer in town refused to groom my puppy, said he was too crazy, in terrible shape, and then basically shaved only half of his back leaving it horrible looking and me practically in tears, I thought no one would be able to groom him and that he was beyond help with being heavily matted all over. But Cristy's was so caring and patient! They were willing to do whatever it took to get him comfortable and used to being groomed...and even on the first visit they got him finished and made him look like a clean & gorgeous new pup! We have been going to Cristy's for about a year and a half now, after trying several other places. With being Auzzidoodles it takes some time to get their coats clipped back. My two pups always come home looking great, happy and relaxed. My female, Pupa is happy no matter where she is at. My male, Rukus is a rukus especially with his feet. They were burned by fireworks at his first hom. But, after being groomed there he is relaxed and happy. They tell us he was good, just a little crazy. They must be doing something right with him since he is happy to get out of the car to go in. As a an abused rescue, he is fussy who he wants to be around. So jumping out of the car to go in tells me a lot. They are Auzziedoodles so they need lots of work to make them Purty!!! read more

I have 2 rescue pups that have had issues with strangers and more so with grooming. Before going to Cristy's they always came home looking scruffy, (Auzziedoodles) and spotty from being clipped back and nic up. They go every 6 weeks and look amazing. Even my Rukus, who lives up to his name is happy to just get in the door. He found his tubby home finally. He walks in the door and walks himself to his kennel. He doesn't even do that at home. Found Alex and Christina to very welcoming. They took the time to get to meet my son Bandit and discuss any issues he may have. He had an issue with a large mole on his head that no one could treat. Another groomer said that it would be a very expensive operation to remove it and was backed up by a vet. The team at Cristy's found it to be only caked blood mixed with his hair. And that when he was bathed it melted away. So no expensive operations they discovered that the is just a blood wart and using a warm compress will help to maintain the issue. After a very bad experience at another groomer I tried Christy's. They understood my apprehension & explained their approach to grooming. I took my 3 dogs there for a number of years & was always impressed with everything they did from bathing to puppy cutting my male. I only stopped going because now that I'm down to 1 dog, who is very, very timid we've started bathing her ourselves & I have vet tech come to the nails, etc., On that note our eldest dog was about 16 1/2 when she was still going to Christy's they treated her so gently & even helped me get her in & out of my vehicle. We took our shih tzu to another groomer in Melbourne for almost a year. They continued to shave him time after time saying he was too knotty. Even when we knew he wasn't. We finally changed groomers to Cristy's grooming and yesterday was his first appt. oh my gosh. They made him look absolutely stunning. He was so soft, fluffy and trimmed so beautifully. I've been taking our dog to her since she was a pup, we moved and I've tried 2 other groomers that were closer to us and no one compared to Cristy's (I actually think taking her to other places traumatized her ... she even puked after one service at a different place). I have been going to Cristy's since 2010 after we found a two year old Shih Tzu wandering our neighborhood that cold winter. It is not Sadie's favorite thing to go for a groom but Alex and Christy say she is great to work on and not a problem. She comes home with a perfect puppy or teddy bear cut each time. They asked my permission to shave her down rather than hurt her with the brushing, and I wholeheartedly agreed. Love the service. Have been taking my pup there for the last 12 years and my mother has taken her dogs longer than that. Friendly staff. They have an automatic scheduler so one less thing to have to plan out. Definitely will need to plan ahead if you go there for your first time for they are a few weeks out but can put you on cancelation list. My puppers always looks on point every time. The people that own and work at this groomer are good people. We get our 2 mini schnauzers groomed every 8 weeks here and the price is a very reasonable $100 for 2 dogs! They will even board select dogs if you need to go out of town. Did I mention that they also do a great job with the grooming? Our dogs look and feel great when they come home from Christy's.
