I feel this clinic would be a good choice for most (normal vet) situations. However, for my needs, it was inefficient and turned out to be condemning, harassing, and unprofessional in the end. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was left shocked, in emotional distress, and unable to attend a very special church Christmas play that evening due to threatening comments by a tech there named Caprisha Thompson, saying "I will call the police myself if you do that," which was not her place to say (at all,) and given the lack of knowledge she had concerning our dangerous situation at home with my dog and regarding injuries she already caused.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their concern was only for my elderly dog, and I felt was completely inhumane towards the elderly lady I care for. There comes a time when HUMAN life has to be prioritized and protected above an animal's, and I am convinced you will not find this rationale here. Even after showing video of blood all over my house, personal injury I keeping incurring, even records with animal control when I was ticketed for having a "vicious animal." I fought two years to protect my dog, keep her, train her better, and I (still) love her very much. Unfortunately, she has become unsafe and a liability. I do not feel comfortable even re-homing her at this point because I value the lives and safety of PEOPLE, human beings first and know my poor aging dog has become a danger to other dogs and to people of all ages. I have had to keep her separated constantly from people and animals but this is not possible nor safe anymore. After much prayer and finally being at peace about it, the decision was made to go to Eau Gallie Animal Hospital after discussing a euthanasia option and scheduling an appt. for yesterday, Dec. 3rd, right before our church Christmas play so we could all keep our spirits up and keep our positive thoughts and memories alive of our beloved pet. We had said our goodbyes, taken pics with her. It was time to go to her appt. and finish this journey on a good note, before something really serious happens due to her dangerous behaviors. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was "led to believe" over the phone this facility could/would help in this difficult and sad situation, especially as my dog is getting older and more unpredictable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Instead, the whole situation was turned against me, The Vet. (Dr. Beth Bahr) very sweet but came in all teary eyed and said I do not feel comfortable doing this, and hinting what I was saying was untrue (?) IDK because she said "I changed my story" which was odd, and accusing, and not true.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I left some reasons out and was trying NOT to say everything due to potential legal ramifications and too much unnecessary exposure of how my pet has been dangerous to keep for quite awhile. I have protected her, loved her, kept her away from others, and even paid to get her certified as my emotional support pet because she made me feel safe, I suffer from PTDS. But things change, situations change. Now too many others are at risk because of my pet and I cannot/should not keep hiding that! When someone almost bleeds to death IN YOUR HOME over Thanksgiving because of your dog, you have to reconsider if it is even legal for me to harbor a dangerous, though beloved, pet! I should not have to give all this detail to say my peace and validate my reasoning. This is quite cruel, but necessary to speak out so others do not pick the wrong clinic expecting to get help and understanding without exhaustive explanation. So yesterday was quite traumatic, not only to be not believed in the office (when yes I have tons of proof, just did not know I would need to bring it with me!) It was hard enough to realize she would need to be euthanized without having to relive past bad and scary things she had done. Our family really wanted to part on a positive note. Finally, I was told by the tech "We don't euthanize for convenience." WTH?!? The Vet then said, "Based on my findings I cannot in my heart do this...." as she goes home to her cute little family, providing a SAFE environment as expected. Of course she would not take my dangerous dog into her home I can promise you that!! So I am given no choices in the matter, and even guilt tripped for seeking help in the first place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They "informed me" they already let the police and animal control know (and why the need for that threat too?)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also, the tech overheard me on the phone saying I don't know what to do now. The play starts in an hour, I have to keep an elderly lady safe in my home, and they are making me bring my dog back home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I said on the phone, "I guess we could put her in the closet while we are at the Christmas play for tonight so everyone is safe." Very expensive, vets seem to come and go quickly. That being said they have taken good care of my pets.

This vet (Dr. Brickett) was recommended to us. To be honest, by the time I walked into this office, I knew more about rabbits than this vet which was massively disappointing. I had called this office originally to have my granddaughter's rabbits examined. Before the appointment came the doe gave birth and was not taking care of the kits. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their advice by phone was NOT helpful and when we finally did get an appointment (as the Dr. cancelled and we had to reschedule for yet another week...my original appointment I had made weeks in advance), two of the kits had already died.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I kept the last one alive by following advice from You Tube (rabbit breeders and rabbit owners and speaking to a rabbit rescue organization). When the appointment did arrive, I waited 45 minutes in an exam room for this vet to enter the room (actually this same woman pulled into the parking lot a few minutes after we arrived, really???) No explanation, no apology for keeping me waiting so long. Unreal. I was charged $220 for the vet to give the two adult rabbits an exam and cut their nails. I was told when I made the appointment it was 75.00 per rabbit. So, what the nail clipping was 35.00 a piece??? Please the exam was limited at best, she didn't even check the female for any post birth issues. Plus, she was rough with my male rabbit. The vet handed me print outs from a website about abandoned bunny babies and told me to reintroduce the mother to the baby (who by the way was aggressive toward the baby. Yeah right, I was going to follow that advice). This is my first and last time seeing this vet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vet techs were wonderful though.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The vet needs to stop saying she takes care of rabbits. She really hasn't a clue! You would be better off watching you tube videos by people who have been through what you have (or speaking to individuals who do rabbit and bunny rescue). They are MUCH more informative. This vet office is by far my favorite one in town. Here is a back story. My puppy was a stray and my friend brings both of her dogs to this vet and she suggested I bring my puppy over to them to see if he was microchipped and he was not. We also were able to get some of his shots done in his first visit. Everyone is the office is so down to earth and helpful. I have always felt so blessed about my Rocky boy when leaving. They also were so sweet and gave us two toys for him and a bag of puppy food. It has always been an amazing experience. The doctors there are very caring for animals and the front office always makes sure you know what you may need to do next for your animal. I highly suggest you bring them here if you are unsure on where to go because they give your pets the upmost care and attention. I'll forever bring my rocky boy to them. Gone downhill w/the pandemic. Asked them to biopsy the mass on my dog so they suggested a dental procedure (she had a funky tooth needed looking at)-so I agreed to leaving my dog & letting them heavily sedate her. I was ONLY on board w/this b cuz it got the biopsy done. I watched my dog b lethargic as hell for 5 days coming off the dope (which was traumatic for me b cuz a yr & a half ago I had to watch her act like that b cuz of a bum leg). Ever since she was left there - any time any body moves a hand at her to pet her, she flinches. I think somebody was mean to my baby! But yesterday I found out that they DIDNT EVEN DO THE BIOPSY! They'd like to do it free now & think I'm supposed to believe they r actually doing something. 10 yrs Ive been going to them-stuck w/em thru 3 buildings-sent 2 other ppl there w/their pets! We had a big scare today. Our Whippet was choking on something and she was gagging. We rushed her to Eau Gallie Vet Hospital and they met us at the car and took her right in. A few minutes later they called and said Willow had a piece of a stick lodged in the roof of her mouth. The vet removed it right away and she felt so much better. I try to be VERY careful when I give a negative review to a business but today...well today was an absolute nightmare. We took Ozzy, Oliver and Sasha for just their yearly shots. We normally use Animal Medical Clinic on Babcock ( they are great BTW) but because of distance felt we could use them for surgical issues ( Dr. Joyner is THE BOMB) and go to this vet just for shots as they are so close. We took them to Eau Gallie Veterinary Hospital. They saw Dr. Valerie Marino who is possibly the last person on planet earth who should be caring for animals. Yes. I JUST said THAT. If she happens to be your vet, scroll on because this doesn't get better. They were all examined ( in the back) due to Covid so when she finished and they had their shots she finally made an appearance. Of note...the ENTIRE STAFF were AWESOME! I mean caring, compassionate and absolutely SO sweet to our fur babies. That woman had the AUDACITY to tell us that Ozzy and Oliver CLEARLY came from sub standard stock and should have NEVER BEEN BORN. She ACTUALLY SAID THOSE WORDS)...I can tell you that Lilly and the father have FOUR GENERATIONS of AKC under their little FRENCHIE belts so no...their stock is PERFECT! The BREED, by virtue of their physiology does have health issues..She advised us that they would probably die VERY YOUNG as a result of our insistence that they be allowed outside to play. She also didn't feel they should EVER be allowed to walk through grass and if they did be hosed down immediately. Yeah. Oh, and she also shared that last Saturday they had to put a Frenchie down because he rode in their owners car too long and died as a result. Of a car ride. She advised us that Ozzy needed to be worked up by a specialist for allergies ( he was, to the tune of $600) and that it was a food allergy. Nope. NOT a food allergy... topical allergy.... She disagreed and said there were no good doctors in Melbourne.. that we needed to see the doctor she suggested in Orlando... ummmm.... That's who we did see... She advised we give him Science Diet( that's what they sell) super convenient right?.....and wanted them on Prednisone and Apaquel along with a host of medications. She then left the room. Not once did she EVER say a single good thing..never a greeting...nothing...doom and gloom... when we went to check out they told us the bill was over $600.... Ummm... for an office visit and shots? Why no the tech stated... for all the MEDICATIONS they need....we didn't authorize ANY of that... so... we made them amend the bill and took our apparently sub standard close to death fur babies and left. She sucked..she was HORRIBLE and I will NEVER go back...can't tell you what to do but seriously... if you're looking for a vet.. stay the hell away from there!! read more

The staff was pleasant and in love with our new fur baby. They called us the next day to see how he's doing and to make sure he's not having an reactions to his shots (which was pleasantly surprising). I've been bringing my dogs here for years! I've never had a single problem with the doctors or staff. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating, between annual shots and time to time grooming my dogs have always come home happy and healthy. My most recent dog is very skid-dish towards adults due to a troubled past but the staff has never forced her to go inside against her will. Today was my dogs first time returning to the vet during the COVID pandemic and as we waited in the car for someone to come get her she was all smiles and barks. When a staff member came out to get her she immediately didn't want to go, rather than grabbing my dogs leash and trying to get her to come out of the car the staff member stepped back and tried to calmly talk my dog out of the car. I did have to grab my dogs leash in order for her to feel safe but the staff member let me walk my dog all the way to the door so she would feel okay. 10/10 service. Even while walking to the door the staff member verified the shots and grooming that would be taking place and asked if I had any questions for the doctor. read more

The girl at the desk, Angel is no angel. She laughs at you and rolls her eyes. Totally horrible customer service. I dropped my dog off for grooming and spoke to the front desk lady, Angel who rolls her eyes when I spoke to her. I was trying to address a serious concern about my dog. My dog also has an issue with her paw that was never addressed. They keep giving pain pills and not properly addressing the situation. My wife called and spoke to the manager who sided with staff and offered only a free suggestion appointment with the doc. WTF! Good riddance Eau Gallie Vets, you lost a good customer. Extremely overpriced! Carried my dog in for a problems around 11 am that morning. He was 17 years old, but was in bad shape. They kept him till around 5 pm and the new owner/vet called me and said it was time to put him down that he was suffering.. I agreed after crying for hours and hours. Next day I went in to pay the bill. It was $600.00 dollars! All they did was give him medicine to stop a seizure/put him to sleep. That was it! 6 hours of care cost me $100.00 per hour! CRAZY!!! I took my Westie to Eau Gallie Veterinary Hospital for her heart worm test. While there, the girl at the counter said they were having a promotion for a year supply of Trifexis. I told her that I had heard bad things about Trifexis and she said that some dogs do have stomach issues after taking it and said that they give the pill with food. I didn't want to buy the full year without trying it on my Kylie so she gave me a sample. I gave it to her with food and there were no tummy issues to speak of. However, after a couple days she began twitching her head to the side, kind of a spasm which she had never done before (I've had her all of her 10 years) A few days later I noticed she was becoming listless and having trouble walking and could not go up the 2 steps to get into the house. Soon after she started swaying her head looking into the air and was listless. (At her grooming appt. a week after taking it, the groomer thought she had a stroke as she could barely stand) I tried to think of what I could have given her to have caused this as I hadn't changed her food or treats, then I realized it must be the Trifexis. I went on-line and began reading about all the dogs that were having similar symptoms as Kylie and some even worse. Some dogs had seizures and had to be put to sleep. Well, I took her to Dr. Retamozo, I told him that I know that she's having a reaction to the Trifexis. He was skeptical and said that possibly the Trifexis is bringing out a preexisting condition with her liver. He he took her temperature and did an examination and suggested I take her to the specialist at the Emergency vet which I did but the Dr. couldn't see her as she was in surgery. A couple days later Kylie's condition worsened and went to another vet and they were wonderful and treated her symptoms of dizziness and nausea. Also, a holistic pet store recommended giving her Milk Thistle to help clear out the toxins of this drug from her liver. After 2 months she is finally back to normal. I am so angry at myself for giving her this drug without researching it first. I'm angry also at this vet for soliciting a drug that is known to be dangerous and lethal to dogs and then not admitting it was the drug. There is a Facebook page dedicated to this drug called 'Does Trifexis kill dogs?' and there are over 700 hundred dogs that have died from it and thousands more with side effects. I have since been recommended a wonderful vet and will not use Eau Gallie Veterinary Hospital in the future. read more

After the good reviews, I expected this office to be great, but it felt quite the opposite. I was new to the area and my two pets were due for some shots. The ladies at the front desk were friendly, but that's about it. The vet tech made us feel unwelcome. Did not greet us, did not smile or show any kind of enthusiasm, and just seemed to want us in and out. It feels strange to be trusting the health of your pet in the hands of someone who doesn't seem to care. I brought their previous records with me. It took him a long time to figure out their immunization records, I don't know why. My dogs didn't need anything out of the ordinary. He kept going to the back room and discussing them with a female vet (who we never saw). After a half hour of this going back and fourth, a male vet came in with the tech and gave them each four vaccines. This cost us $145 and $201. When we got home, my oldest was very lethargic. That's fairly common for some immunizations, but then he started shaking and random places on his body were twitching. He refused to eat or drink. I brought him back and the vet tech said "that's it? I thought he was having a seizure or something" and reminded me that their were other patients waiting. My dog was given Benadryl, charged another $40, and we were sent home. Luckily, he was okay by the next day. I think those symptoms would be enough to scare any pet owner, and I was made to feel bad for being safe and bringing him back. Even if they're right and I was being paranoid, that's such a rude way to treat someone who's worried about their pet. My pets are part of my family. Today we visited a new (and wonderful) vet, so once again I rounded up their previous records and happened to notice that Eau Gallie hadn't even written down my info properly. My contact information was completely off, and both of my dog's birth dates were wrong. TL;DR Vets are unenthusiastic, completely lack empathy, don't care about you as an individual. You'll be in and out, charged an ungodly amount for any and everything they can push on you. read more

Worst vet visit ever. I took my cat in to be seen for an injury probably fighting with another local cat. The injury was lost hair spot about 1" diameter, visible bite wound - two teeth punctures and torn flesh below the punctures. Itemized in the paid receipt was "Exam Routine $48". When the doctor came into the room he looked over at the cat and said "Oh yea I see it". Never touched the cat - did not have the wound cleaned - did not examine to assess the extent of the wound. Antibiotic shot was recommended, as expected, then explained why not sew it up at this time (trapping bacteria in the wound - bad) then he left to order the shot. In the room at best 4 minutes, All talk - No Exam. Generally a physical exam is a hands on function. read more
