I highly recommend the The Jennings Group! Don't let one…read morenegative review keep you away!! Christie has prepared our taxes since she and her dad opened the business. She has multiple years experience prior to opening the Jennings Group. I have referred many people to her and can't think of anyone else that I would trust more!

I had the worst tax preparation experience I could have possibly imagined with Christie Jennings…read more Not only was she completely ignorant in regards to the foreign tax credit, but she denied several times to take a look at the issue, and would have cost me $800 in my tax refund had I not insisted and been very forceful about it. At some point she asked for "US Government-based foreign source income", a total joke if it wasn't costing me $800. She never apologized, and her communication through messaging was very bad. She never had the time to talk on the phone and tried several times to gaslight me by making it a story about anything else besides the fact she had no clue about issues very pertinent to being an accountant. Case in point, she repeatedly tried to make it a story about my wife's business, about IRS guidelines she did not understand, about her excess time that was wasted because of her own incompetence, about slander, defamation and legal ramifications that exist only in her imagination. Once she realized how wrong she was, she also tried to pre-emptively strike first by refusing to submit my future returns. Very cunning, except everybody can see through that. On top of all this, she never provided a breakdown for her charges, which were much higher than the initial amount quoted by the folks at her office. They never mentioned ahead of time that spending more time on a return (because of her incompetence I may add) would add up to the cost. I am sorry, but anyone who spends the time to write 5 emails to cover up their own mistakes, while disregarding the client's salient points, cannot possibly have the audacity to charge their clients for their wasted time. No client of hers should have to go through that. Every reasonable business owner would just apologize, use their lack of knowledge and expertise as a learning point, and move forward. Christie Jennings is too immature to do that. I hate to see such unprofessional behavior get rewarded from honest, hardworking people who do not know better, so hopefully this review will serve as a reminder for honest folks to beware. Double check your returns and do not trust ignorant and arrogant businesses!

I can't believe the low score I just saw for Eastman. I love Eastman, free checking, great…read moreservice, dividends paid, friendly people. I just wish the Jonesborough office was larger. I know there is a new one coming, just wish it would get here sooner.

I recently underwent a major personal milestone, investing in a completely new wardrobe across platforms like eBay and Mercari. Out of over 90 successful transactions, I encountered a handful of standard e-commerce issues--items lost in transit by the carrier, or rogue merchants refusing to issue a refund after tracking explicitly proved the merchandise was successfully returned to them. I also had several items that weren't as described and had gotten damaged in shipping. Instead of honoring my lawful consumer rights under federal law to dispute these unfulfilled transactions, ECU automatically flagged my account. I received a highly insulting letter claiming I was "negligent" and failing to secure my PIN number. This is a complete lie. My physical card and PIN have never been compromised. When a manager called to discuss the letter, she completely gaslighted the situation, ignored my documentation, and actually attempted to dictate my personal shopping habits, telling me I shouldn't buy items online. Every major national bank handles merchant non-delivery and returns seamlessly. ECU, however, chooses to blame the customer to avoid doing the manual back-end work required to hold shady merchants accountable. They are currently withholding hundreds of dollars in legitimate reimbursements for items I do not possess, while stripping away my debit card access under the false pretense of "negligence." They do not operate from a place of integrity or sovereignty. If you want an institution that protects your assets instead of lecturing you for merchant failures, go elsewhere. I am taking my business and assets to a national institution that actually understands consumer law.
