Would give zero stars if possible. NEVER EVER use this service. Extremely unprofessional, rude, and void of common human decency. Also false advertisement! This organization advertises itself on its website as "humanely" trapping wildlife, however this is simply the complete opposite of the case. They utilized foothold and bodybuilding traps for raccoons in the attic, an excruciatingly painful method of killing raccoons which can take up to days to kill them. If you look up foothold traps online you will see that they were formerly called "leghold" traps and were banned in most US states and Canada due to their complete lack of ethics. This company uses the reformed word "foothold" to make it seem like a different method. A raccoon trapped two nights ago on the roof was screaming for over 30 minutes and woke half of the neighborhood up. It took hours to an entire day for it to eventually die and the company did not respond to phone calls or arrive at an appropriately time to collect the carnage of what they had done. Furthermore, they misrepresented the trap as a live trap when they placed it originally. AND the trap was not placed more than 6 feet off the ground- Missouri state law for body hold traps in raccoons. This company is not legal, ethical, or professional. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. In response to your company's comment on this post: I appreciate your quick response, however I think you and I have different definitions of humane. I'm using the dictionary definition of humane which is defined as "actions or conduct marked by compassion, sympathy, or consideration for humans or animals." I know that you are only looking out for the best interest of your company and I sympathize, however in good conscience, I can only speak the truth. If your traps were truly to be called lethal, they would have to kill the animal upon impact, not leave them slowly dying for 14+ hours, as was the case in this situation. You are correct, I have posted this review on multiple of your locations nearby, as I am confident that they all use the same unethical trapping practices. Unfortunately you cannot correct what has already been done and I am no longer in need of your services as there is nothing you can do. I did not request your services in the first place, as it was regretfully the landlord of my house that chose your company. I can assure you that the same mistake will not be made in the future. My advice to all new customers seeking assistance with critters on their property, find another service. I have called and spoken with several other companies who have answered all my questions and confirmed that they use only LIVE traps for the removal and relocation of raccoons. Yes, Critter Control IS as good as it can possibly be. I had bats in my attic when I returned from vacation a couple of years ago. Kevin came to my home and, instantly, I felt assured that I need not fear them getting inside my living quarters. The process of ridding a home of bats is detailed. Critter Control has it down perfectly and their prices are very reasonable. At a later date, my 80 year old mother living in a rural area had issues with bats, rats, and groundhogs. I told her to call Critter Control. Kevin was assigned to her while her region's regular man was out on vacation. Mom was just as satisfied as I. Critter Control came to our immediate help (within 30 mins) when blue jays had been attacking our house. Bryan from Critter Control, came out and fixed the problem problem immediately. The fake blue jay he installed on the south side of our house, to show it's territorial dominance, still stands! Bryan also put a trap on our roof to see if our house, one of many in our neighborhood, was having a raccoon problem. Again, a raccoon was caught and Bryan was there in record time. Critter Control is the absolute best! I was referred to them by the Blue Beetle since they did not do that kind of work. Neither of our problems have recurred. They shine in communication and lining up your visit. I live 100 miles or so away from them and was so grateful for them being willing to travel to my house. Technician was prompt and thorough. Refused to collect a dime before correctly identifying both the source of "noise" in the rafter and appropriate solution. Performed trial for a few days and then caulked and fitted screen mesh to prevent possible avenues of entry. Great service. We used Kansas side Critter Control for removal of both raccoons and moles - although removing moles is a bit like the game suggests. Great results, too, for us in Missouri. Our family has used Critter Control for a number of years. When we moved from California to Olathe, KS we utilized their service in early 2000 for birds, squirrels and raccoon removal. We now live in Lees Summit, MO and required their service for squirrel removal; including closing up several holes around the roof line of our home. When people have an infestation of any kind they're already distressed and looking for a speedy resolution, and some pest control companies prey on that, trying to get you to sign up for extra services you don't need.
