Awesome, awesome experience for me and my dog Big Daddy…read more my big, 2.5 yr old boy was going crazy when new people came around. He was jumpy, it was hard for me to control him and it was offensive to others because he weighs 65 lbs. i like fixing things, so we put ourselves through training with Mike & Champion Dog Training. At the first lesson i was excited and felt great leaving, but during the first week i was scared to enforce because doggie was sensitive to the collar. Mike gave me a little pep talk over the phone and we made it to our 2nd lesson. I cannot get him into a down/stay using force, Mike says Im soft on him, but he's doing great with everything else we learned. Stay, Stand, Sit, Heel, he's a very smart boy & im very proud. We have continued practicing even after completing the 4 week course. I now feel confident I can control him and there has been a shift in Big D., like he knows I expect more and is waiting on my que. Even his dog walker said he has really improved and she did not know he was training.

I recently completely the board and train program at this school. I adopted a very challenging DEAF…read moreminiature bull terrier, who I loveeeeee. I have never worked with a deaf dog nor have I owned a bull terrier. Let's just say my life completely changed. I went from 2 dogs I have had for 15 & 16 years who were complete angels, an American staffordshire and a black lab to hell on wheeeels. She has been kicked out of day care, kicked out of doggie academy programs and weekend warrior programs. I have taken several training courses and classes, with no major impact. I have changed my lifestyle for this cute yet satanic creature. Yes, her nickname is baby satan. Overnight she started showing nervous signs of aggression --- again she is deaf and startles so easily. Holly and her trainers have turned my precious little baby monster into a working dog. She knows about 15 hand signals. I never thought I would be the type of person to send my dog off to summer boot camp but wow it really worked. She stayed a little longer than the 21 days but again she is hearing impaired and her breed is extremely stubborn. Even with that watching her work with the trainers brought tears to my eyes. She actually wants to focus and complete her tasks. Holly has showed me how to work with my 2 year old doggie and she took such amazing care of the training and handling of us both. I'm also not a local anymore and I had to search for someone who was able to handle this delicate situation. I plan on working with dog training academy of south florida for any other pup I rescue. Thanks guys. For giving me my life back and putting us in sync. I wanted my rescue to be happy and still be her but a better version of her. I didn't want to break her spirit. Holly understand that. Thanks guys.

I have been taking my dog to Dog Training Academy of South Florida for two years and it has been a…read moretruly rewarding experience. The trainers use positive reinforcement training which in my mind is the only way to go. My dog absolutely adores going to "school" can't wait to get to his obedience 2 and agility 2 classes. The trainers truly care about teaching both you and your dog the correct way to become a "team" in a positive way. The longer we go there the better my connection has become with my little guy. The facility is indoors, air conditioned which in South Florida is a major positive. They offer boarding and a variety of private and group classes --- obedience, agility, tricks, animal acting, puppy classes, and even camp for puppies and teenage puppies! Their prices are extremely reasonable. I highly recommend the DTASFL.

Adam Rojas has been a miracle worker with our rescue, Prescott. Our sweet little twelve pound…read moredoxy/chihuaha has a tendency to snap and bite if he feels triggered, particularly if I get near his neck with leash or harness. This has made attempting to walk him a recurrent moment of panic for me, which has only emboldened Prescott to continue this behavior. He has even bitten me on several occasions, as well as my wife (though less frequently) albeit often enough to make us feel unsafe in our own home. We've been through several trainers, behaviorists, doctors and specialists; we've explored treatments for his spinal pain (pain meds, crating) to quell his agitation, and also began giving him Prozac to ease any anxiety or trauma he may suffer from. Ultimately, all of these measures did not adequately resolve the problem. Needless to say, after this saga of several years, we were at our wits end. Enter Adam Rojas: a true dog whisperer, he approached Prescott masterfully, equal parts dominant and compassionate, essentially mesmerizing my wife and I at his ability to make our little Napolean so submissive. It was a wonder to see, like sitting front row at a Las Vegas show in our own living room! Adam has been patient and instructive, always giving us specific action steps, techniques and clear explanations, all the while training my wife and I to provide Prescott with the pack leadership he so craves. Adam has been available by text and phone, continuing to reassure and answer any questions. He's taught us to correct Prescott's behavior in a timely and appropriate manner with commands and use of the leash; we've even learned to use the electric collar, of which Adam took great pains to teach us how to use effectively. The net result of these sessions has been a profoundly better adjusted doggie, and a much calmer and happier mommy and daddy! We didn't know where else to turn, and this instruction has made a world of difference! We heartily recommend Adam & K9 for their outstanding professionalism and excellent results.
