Critters Corner is just incredible. Don't come here expecting a fine-dining experience. Come here expecting to encounter good people and the feel of a true, country mom-and-pop family business feel. I love that this place doesn't try to be something it's not. It's simple and homey in its own way. It doesn't need decorations; it speaks for itself. I am currently staying in an airbnb nearby for a wedding I attended yesterday. I was incredibly hungry for some good breakfast before a long day. Of course, I browsed my options on trusty old Yelp and saw the reviews or Critters Corner, and I LOVE a good hole-in-the-wall. This place did NOT disappoint; I adore it! You come in, pick a table, and they're right with you. You won't have to wait long for great food and service. You can drink whatever you want with your meal; just tell your waitress. I ordered a BLT without tomatoes and added a fried egg and cheese. I like Mayo, so I definitely had some on my sandwich. YUM. It was exceptional! I ate every bite. I couldn't finish the loaded hash browns, but they were every bit as good when I warmed them up as an after-wedding snack. Critters Corner is a gem in a gas station. They have a menu of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and dinner platters available. Everything is made fresh to order. It's easier if you call ahead your order and pick it up - but they also have seating available if you want to eat in house. If you come in the evening just be prepared that they're very busy with call in orders and you may have to wait to place an order at the counter. Critters also has a case of desserts - pies, cheesecake, Butterfinger cake, Rice Krispy treats, and many others. The prices are incredibly reasonable. read more

First time to Critters Corner. I had heard it was a good place to eat from more than one person. Pulled up and thought, not much to look at from the outside. It's a converted gas station. What an absolute surprise! This place appears to be no more than a simple rural convenient store from the outside. However, you'll immediately notice a relatively large amount of vehicles parked outside if you are there during lunch or dinner time. It appears to be super popular with those who know about it. Once you're inside it's obvious it's been at least 30 years since the last update. Don't worry, it's perfectly clean but is well worn. At this point it's not quite old enough to be kitchy or quaint, but I do prefer it in it's "natural state" over the restaurants that try to tack a theme on. It's literally just a mile (or less?) from the middle of Moshiem, but feels very rural. This is a neat touch, whether intentional or not. Once you get a look at the menu, you find a really wide choice of things to eat at excellent prices. $5.99 gets you the daily specials...a meat and two sides. A nice touch is that you fill your own drink at a centrally located fountain, even though a waitress takes your order and brings your food. This is a nice hybrid system that cures the whole issue of waiting for that refill that often never happens. It's too bad more places don't adopt this format. The food we received was excellent in every way...a ton of food for the money and perfect tasting. Everything. Not just the entree, but the sides too! Maybe the best mac and cheese I've had anywhere. This place makes me wonder why so many "nicer", more expensive restaurants can't simply make good tasting food. This place is an absolute five in every way...except the appearance. read more

Everyone is always so friendly. I've never had any bad experiences when it comes to food. You're also able to shop around just a little almost like you could at a gas station. They serve the best sweet treats that you can buy at the counter, I definitely recommend visiting if you haven't already. read more
