Crockett's towing was the service that the FHP used when my mom was in her accident. At first, we had no idea where her car was at, so it took a little detective work on my end, but we found it. The people there were awesome, caring and understanding. There was a hold on our car and the others involved in the multi-car accident so I had to wait to get the important things out of our car. Those things included the hearing aids that she was wearing when the airbags went off. So for a week she was deaf as a door nail. Ah well. When we were able to retrieve things, the Crockett's team was there to help me with getting the license plate off, made sure I had what I needed. I know a lot of people complain about their wait time for towing services. My car was towed/wrecked there and this is the first tow company where nobody stole items from my car when I came a day later to get my items out. They were more than helpful with information of what I should do next and helped me take my plate off when I couldn't with my screwdriver. I needed my car towed 1.3 miles to the auto shop and called Crockett at 7:30am to make arrangements. They said 60-90 minutes and they would be there. After almost 2 hours of waiting for them, I called them back to find out why they still hadn't shown up. They said the driver got rerouted to another call. They apologized about not calling me with the update but it would be another 30 minutes. The driver showed up just after 10am for pickup and then left. I hadn't heard for the auto shop on any update so I called at 12 noon. They said the tow truck driver was unloading my car as we spoke and they would have to give me an update after they looked at the car. 2 Hours to drive 1.3 miles!?!?!?!?!!?!? I could have pushed it to the auto shop in that time. Who does this? Did he go to lunch with my car on the tow truck? Did he not care? I will never use this unprofessional company again and any time a person needs a tow I will be sure to tell them to call anyone other than Crockett. read more

Crockett's Towing is a complete scam. I trusted the police officer to call a tow service. He did not tell me the absolute ridiculous price to tow my car (and where it was going- 34 miles north!) Why not call a closer company? Oh, because they want to make money. I was charged for tolls (twice, sunpass also charged me!) and everyone at this business is skeevy, except for Tamera. Please, call triple A or your mechanic. If there is no location nearby for your bank, you're screwed because they want it all in cash, impossible to take out of an ATM. If possible, I would give 0 stars. The one star would be for Tamera. She is very patient and kind, and this scam business does not deserve her. read more

Pro: Harold the tow truck driver. Very nice, professional and helpful. Cons: Honestly, this was the worst towing service I have ever used.. Their main problem was communication. I totally understand if you had 16 children locked in a bus and stuck on train tracks and they need help being towed before me. Sure no problem but communicate that with your customer so they can make other arrangements(FYI: no kids were stuck in a bus on train tracks they were just 3 hours late) When you tell your customer a guaranteed window of time of a 45 minutes to be at your location, then be there! Be honest about the time frame if you aren't going to be here for 3 hours, again let me at least call someone else to pick me up so my groceries don't melt in my car. Also, It was aggravating talking to the company on the phone. When I called I had already been waiting an hour and a half so I wanted to get a new time estimate I was placed on hold for 15 minutes so they could call the driver and get an ETA. Keep in mind they did not actually call the driver within those 15 minutes, because after waiting that long I hung up and called them again and the same person whom I had been talking to previously answered and asked "what I needed again" because "he forgot why he placed me on hold" unacceptable. So in closing, don't use this service if you can help it. Unfortunately we are using AAA and this is the company they set us up with. But if I had a choice I would choose a different company. I also ended up filing a complaint with AAA and apparently this isn't the first time they've had a problem with this company. read more

Honestly, if I could give them zero stars, I would. I called AAA to get my car towed after the radiator hose ruptured, and they delegated it to Crockett's towing. Crockett's never contacted me. After five(!) hours of checking in with AAA and being told that the ETA had been pushed back and oh, just another forty minutes now! I finally got a call from the Crockett's dispatcher at 2:30 in the morning telling me that the driver didn't want to go through the gate at my apartment complex in the dark, so he wasn't coming, but I could call back in the morning and they would send another truck, but it could take a few hours because they are short staffed. I ended up having to get another company to tow my car to the mechanic, and they were prompt and professional, unlike Crockett's. read more

We are traveling from Ohio to Fort Myers Beach. Our 2003 E450 ambulance is towing our home, a 29' Airstream trailer. We blew a high pressure oil line in rush hour I-75 traffic. AAA sent Crocket's towing to get us. They sent two trucks. Both guys Eric and Streeter were very knowledgeable, professional and fast. They took us to a great diesel repair shop, Redline Diesel Ingenuity, who fixed our rig. People who complain about wait time aren't taking into consideration the number of calls these guys handle and calls being generated by a third party (AAA) adds to the complexity. No one wants to break down but honestly a 2 hour wait is not unreasonable. We really appreciate the care these guys took to get us to help safely. read more

On Saturday March 23, My pickup truck broke down on I-75 in Florida and we called Crockett's Towing. The operator, Danny, was the most helpful person I have met in a LONG time. He first made sure we were safe then loaded our truck and took us to a local Ford dealer. The Ford dealer doesn't work on Saturdays so we needed to get a ride back home. He looked up the Enterprises Rent a Car near by and they were closed also. He then looked up the nearest one and found that they were open till 2 pm and we had just over an hour to get there with no way to do that. We were stranded on the highway when our travel trailer had a wheel bearing problem and needed a large flatbed trailer to tow the trailer in for repairs. Our towing service kept sending tow trucks that couldn't handle the job. Florida Highway Patrol called Crockett's and they got the job done. Their employees Steve and Bob were awesome and stayed with us and got our trailer to the repair shop. They gave us recommendations for hotels and took wonderful care of us. you're better off pushing your car home yourself than getting them to tow your car. I broke down on a major road with 9 lanes (4 on each side and the side that I managed to pull over to was next to a turning lane). We called the towing company at about 3:30 and was told it would arrive before 5. Since it wasn't that long of a wait, I decided to stick around with my car instead of having someone drive 45 minutes to come pick me up. Clearly, that was ignorant of me. At 5, I received a text saying that the truck would be there at 6:30. I was angry that it was taking twice as long that it was going to take but I had already sat an hour and half so I figured I had already devoted to staying. Every hour after that text, I received text notifications asking if my truck had arrived yet and of course, it hadn't. Every time I replied saying it did not arrive yet, they would push back the ETA another 30 minutes. This went on for a couple hours. At about 9 p.m. I was starving and thirsty as hell from sitting in my car with the AC off for 6 hours since I couldn't turn on my car with my transmission broken. I would have gone out sooner to get food or a drink but I was convinced the truck would come whenever I would leave since they kept telling me it would be there in 30 minutes every time they contacted me. So, at 9 p.m. I went to a local place to get food and do some homework. FINALLY, at 10 p.m. the tow truck driver himself called me and told me he was nearby. Honestly, he was being really rude over the phone and even more rude in person. He told me to turn on my caution lights so he could see me on the road (since it was pitch black out by now) and I told him I had gone out to get food so it'd be about 20 minutes before I would be back to my car since it was about a half a mile or so away plus I had to cross 9 lanes of traffic. He seemed kind of pissed off that it was going to take me 20 minutes to get to my car but quite frankly, after waiting 7 hours, I didn't give a shit. Once I got back to my car, the tow truck driver managed to find my car and was complaining the whole time about how he was having to work late. I was not the person to be complaining to as I was probably broken down as long as his work shift lol. What really set me over the edge was when he took a smoke break while in the middle of lifting my car. Super unprofessional and incredibly rude. So unless you want to wait 7 hours for a tow truck, you're better off pushing your car back home yourself. read more

Took 3 hours to come..then was so uneducated as a driver that he wouldn't drive through LOW water that trucks, suvs, and jeeps were getting through all day...lied to AAA saying the water was mail box high..you guys are the crappiest towing place ever..who was the idiot that hired you?? After having car trouble and being stranded on the roadside, I called AAA. They called Crockett's Towing and gave me an hour wait time. After the hour passed, I called back and was told it would be another 40 minutes. After that time passed, I called back and was given another 40 minute delay. The driver was very courteous and helpful. He worked quickly and did a great job. However, I was disappointed that I had to wait by the side of the road, late at night for over 2 hours. read more

Crockett's has helped me on two separate occasions with flat tires. Both times it was an object in the tire that they could patch. The first time AAA sent out the tow truck. He put on my spare and took my tire to his shop to patch. Second time I dropped off. Friendly family business with reasonable prices. After 2 hours of waiting, my husband called back and they advised another 2 hours again. Finally my husband and daughter had to leave the car. I hate to think that if my husband and I could not get to my daughter that evening, she would have been left in a mall shopping garage alone waiting on this particular company for a total of 4 hours or more. Definitely no, for lack of a better term, "bedside manner" or pleasantries. Would ignore me, the little lady treatment, only spoke to my husband. The guy was your typical surly, burly tow truck guy so we didn't expect much on the friendly scale anyway. Lotsa telling us what he cant do for us vs. what he can. AAA told us they'd be there in an hour. Took 1 hour and 45 minutes. I called the dispatch 2 times and they were pleasant enough but in a hurry to get off the phone. Jumped in his truck and drove to the mechanics we chose 3 miles from the breakdown site. Just left, no waiting for us to follow him. We caught up at the 2nd light. Once we pulled in to the mechanic, guy was already unloading our car. Literally dumped it off and took off. Never asked for any AAA card or verification of ID or did I sign any papers. Ive done this before (AAA towing) and never had this happen. Technically the job got done, so I'll give them 3 stars. read more

Arrived late, over the expected wait time. He gets out, takes a look under the hood, sees that I have aftermarket coil-over springs, and tells me he has to charge me 65$ more just because I am lowered. What a scam. I have dealt with other tow companies many times and never has a driver try to charge me more. He became defensive and justified his opinion based on his experience.
