Everything is really as beautiful as the pictures and you can see it all from the bedroom! It was also such a bonus to get to watch the sunrise and the sunset in bed without having to venture out. Joe and Dianne are the hosts at Above the Narrows and they were very friendly and helpful on our trip. Joe gave us many great recommendations while we were there and they also have a guidebook in the room that pointed us to some great spots as well. Joe also prepared the breakfast each morning and it was very delicious! He even used local eggs which made the meals extra special. I was very happy with the amount of interaction I had with the hosts. They are not overwhelming at all, leaving us to enjoy our breakfasts alone. The room also has its own separate entrance so there is quite a bit of privacy. That said, Joe was very responsive and was always happy to answer any of our questions. The location of the bed and breakfast is also very convenient if you are driving. Personally, I visited Salt Spring Island without a car once and it was definitely not a very good experience because all the fun things on the island are quite far apart. But there is a nice network of trails right by the house and we could go on morning/evening strolls through the forest with ocean views too! We had such a great time here and I would definitely recommend this place!

David (who has checked us in each time) is the best! Their motel rooms are quite comfortable, rustically stylish, and come with a Nespresso coffee maker (and plenty of pods), mini-fridge, a smart TV, and triple-sheeted duvets. The breakfast pastries and dinner offerings at the on-site restaurant are delightful too. I recommend making resos far in advance since they book up quickly for summer weekends. Leave the rat race behind for a weekend or a week--or more--and settle in for a relaxing stay.

The airstream was very comfortable. Nice queen bed. Own shower and bathroom. Hot water. Wifi. Cable. Amazon firebox. Kitchen with microwave and gas stove. Cutlery, pots and pans. Outside you have your own fire pit, 2 person hot tub whirling away and just waiting for you. A bbq set and lawn chairs and a huge umbrella to shade you. A huge hammock for those afternoon book readings. i mean, What more can you ask for? Air-streaming doesn't get any better than this! And the best part...the staff are so nice and accommodating. They'll give a quick orientation on what to do etc and if you need anything, they are a txt msg away. Yet, you are surrounded by nature and a lush flora. Around the property there are countless trails and everything is within a 5-10-15 min drive. There are cafes close by, farms, a bc liquor store, bookstore, restaurants, etc. everything is opening up now. Please go and support local and your backyard. Super easy to book and confirm. GREAT Breakfasts (I tried them ALL) (Stuffed French Toast, Greek Frittata, Eggs Benedict (your choice of number of eggs)-- one day I just had plain Greek Yogurt and fresh blueberries... the bacon was local and everything was fresh) NOT GOOD for people with mobility issues due to stairs. (but their site makes this clear) ROOM with en suite shower/toilet (no tub): Very well appointed, comfortable bed, easy access to two electric plugs and two USB electric ports at desk. Comfortable main living/dining space for all guests use. Nice views of Salish Sea from front (garden view from guest rooms), easy parking for car (must have car for this area). Guests can use small space in frig for left-overs or bottle of wine. I found the TV control to be a bit confusing but OK for short stay use. PLEASE Stay HERE MORE than one night...there is so much to see and experience in the area. I arrived on Vancouver Island via FERRY, on foot, from West Vancouver-Horseshoe Bay...used the 257 express Bus from downtown Vancouver CITY (very easy-peasy). Lucky I had a friend to meet me, take to my rental car at Nanaimo Airport. I spent seven nights at Eagle B&B...using rental car from Nanaimo Airport (where I flew out of) Used for: -SOUTH: day trip to Victoria in the south, winery and ciderys two day trip... -NORTH: Goats, Coombs, and Qualicum Bay to the north. -A daytrip in Nanaimo via Cedar Rd. I visited all the WONDERFUL local Museums: Chemainus (friendly--small), Nanaimo (REALLY good), LadySmith (exceptional for a small town)--it shows the history of the area (coal and timber).

I booked a reservation here for two…read morenights through expedia and got a great deal, also the cancellation policy offered through Eagle Rock B&b is second to none, you don't have to worry if your plans change. Upon arrival at the residence we were greeted by the owner (Jim) who was very proffesional and nice, he showed us all the amenities of the house and how to get in and out, it was really quick and easy. We reserved the "Repertoire" room which has a king bed and a very nice personal bathroom. Everything was nice and clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable, my girlfriend and I both sleep great both nights we stayed here. Breakfast in the morning was top notch! Jim makes it really easy to order what you want, he sent us an email before we arrived asking what we would like, and what time we would like to eat. The first morning I had ham and cheese stuffed french toast (soooo good), and the second morning I had eggs benedict (yummy). Both of the meals were exceptional, and hands down some of the best breakfast meals I've ever been served. I wish we could have stayed longer to try the other items that are available! In addition to the great bedroom and delicious breakfast, the house is also really nice. I had a great cup of coffee in the morning and a nice glass of wine at night sitting in the window seats in the living room. The view is so nice, overlooking the strait of Georgia you can see mountains, the water, and sailboats passing by. The beach is an easy 1 minute walk away! The owners professionalism and courteous can't be forgotten, it's what really made the stay here at Eagle Rock B&B so special. Jim is so easy to talk to and really has a great personality. He always found the perfect point between being a host, and giving us our own space. Thanks for your hospitality, I look forward to coming back here again!

Holly Farms Suite is rented out by the owner Lindy and her husband and they couldn't be more…read morehospitable. It's in a garden setting on their property where they grow berries and other products. The spacious suite was very clean and well supplied and had a full kitchen and separate bedroom. Lindy met us at the gate and gave us suggestions for several excellent but nice and casual restaurants nearby and then provided her healthy homemade muffins and yogurt for our first days' breakfast. It's about a 15-20 minute drive to downtown Victoria, but very close to Butchard Gardens and Brentwood Bay. The setting and surrounding area are beautiful and out in the country. homemade. The only negative was a little difficulty in finding it because Victoria road signs are somewhat confusing. I'd highly recommend staying here for any stay in Victoria.

I stayed at The Grove in early October of 2024 with 4 friends from high school. We were there for 3…read morenights (Fri - Sun) in total. The Grove is a great spot for an island getaway. My friends and I got together really just to visit and catch up, with no real plans for activities in mind. The property gave us plenty of room to spread out in comfort, and a spacious kitchen and dining area to come together for meals. We made use of the large deck area as well, with the beautiful fire table and seating area. There is a hot tub on the deck as well, but it was not available during our stay. The property was clean and well-equipped, with enough kitchen equipment and basic ingredients for us to prepare anything we needed. We were impressed by how roomy it was, and the house is furnished with rustic pieces that felt very relaxed and cozy. The property had no TVs when we stayed there, but this was not a problem for us as we came there to visit. There is internet service on the property, which was sufficient to supplement the sometimes spotty cellular reception. Mayne Island has numerous places to discover, including a great outdoor pub, some wonderful casual dining spots, and some amazing walking areas. We ventured out for walks down to nearby beaches and saw quite a bit of local wildlife, including a number of sea birds. We also took several drives around the island, visiting St. John Point, and Campbell Point trail, which takes you through a beautiful forest of arbutus trees. There are a few small grocery stores on the island, but I would recommend a larger shop on the mainland before catching the ferry across, as we did. There is a wine/liquor store on the island as well, and the Mayne Island Brewing Company sells its beers by the bottle, as well as offering tastings and pints to stay. I loved our stay at The Grove, and we are already making plans to return. This is a great spot for a family or larger group who wants to gather in some peace and quiet on beautiful Mayne Island.

The location is perfect because it is a short drive to Victoria, but you get to rest in a peaceful area surrounded by trees and a view of the ocean. I did not want to leave... To start, the bed and breakfast feels like you stepped out of reality and into the movie "The Holiday." It is cozy, quaint, and quiet in the best way. The rooms are smaller but equipped with what you need. In addition to the ambiance, the breakfast stands out as a highlight. From staying in other BnB's we expected danishes, coffee, etc. They far exceeded those expectations making easily the best quiche I've ever had, apple crumb cake, homemade rhubarb jam and butter and homemade focaccia. I woke up not hungry and ended up eating everything it was so delicious. My only regret of the weekend was booking an early ferry and not being able to enjoy breakfast the second morning. I hope to return one day!

This is a FANTASTIC B&B! Shelley is an amazing host and is a wealth of information and a pleasure…read moreto visit! The fridge and kitchen were well stocked,the entire quarters were extremely clean. The bed, was one of the best I literally have ever slept in! The views cannot be beat, and the ocean right across the road how can you complain? The view from the house itself is amazing, and Shelley has created an oasis in the back yard! You have access to the BBQ, and beautiful sitting areas out back. It is close to transit, and you can walk to Sidney in under a half hour with paved walking trails all the way. Or you can walk along the ocean, it is rocky though not sandy, so that is something to be aware of. I walked in the ocean, found it easier :) Victoria is a mere 20 minute commute, and some tourist attractions like Butchart Gardens, a little less. We found it close to all we needed, and away from the "hustle" of downtown Victoria.
