Emma & Wiley have carefully engineered the little slice of paradise that is Saturn's Return. Some friends and I stayed here for a wedding on Roche Harbor and were pleasantly surprised. To start, the bed and breakfast feels like you stepped out of reality and into the movie "The Holiday." It is cozy, quaint, and quiet in the best way. The rooms are smaller but equipped with what you need. In addition to the ambiance, the breakfast stands out as a highlight. From staying in other BnB's we expected danishes, coffee, etc. They far exceeded those expectations making easily the best quiche I've ever had, apple crumb cake, homemade rhubarb jam and butter and homemade focaccia. I woke up not hungry and ended up eating everything it was so delicious. My only regret of the weekend was booking an early ferry and not being able to enjoy breakfast the second morning. I hope to return one day! read more

Saturn's Return is a cute farm style home turned BnB on a 42 acre estate. Breakfast was delicious each morning all items were vegetarian and seemed to be from their farm or locally procured, take my advice and have breakfast in the sunroom for an enjoyable look at the property. The walking trail on site took you on a nice path along the tree line and the blackberry bushes were taller than me. Rooms were cute and very sound proof, we heard no one else when we were in the room. A cute farm store was there for some basic needs as well. Our hosts Emma and Wiley were so helpful and kind. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Saturn's Return while we were visiting San Juan Island. It's a peaceful retreat with plenty of space to enjoy quiet moments. We absolutely loved the freshly made breakfast each morning, the hot coffee, the option to brew some tea as well. The location is easy to get to from Friday Harbor, and everything else the island has to offer is just a short ride away. Definitely check out their farm store as well, we really loved the sourdough loaves and other local goodies from around the islands. read more

We live a very stressful life and needed a little time away to reconnect and destress and I'm so happy we happened upon Saturn's Return. They welcomed us with open arms (though we were very late after our whale tour). Our room was so cozy, simple, and beautiful. We enjoyed reading as a couple with a bottle of wine over candlelight. And honestly, we both had the best sleep we've had in years (helps we didn't have our toddlers with us) but also, it's just such a peaceful environment. Breakfast was prepared for us and it was absolutely delicious. We then took a trek around the property and I got to overcome my long founded fear of chickens and even collect some eggs from them. Being able to breathe in fresh air and hear the birds was so calming and therapeutic to us and we're just so thankful this place exists. Hope to bring our boys up with us next time to take in more of the experience. read more

This is a lovely working flower and vegetable farm run by a busy young couple. It's a real retreat with a special vegetarian breakfast included. The rooms are small in general but there are many common areas and the great outdoors at the doorstep. There is a guest utility room with a refrigerator and microwave to store food and drinks. Otherwise, one needs to drive to Friday Harbor or Roche Harbor for lunch or dinner. However, everything on San Juan Island is a short drive away. Mark & Karen P. read more

We had a friend's wedding on San Juan island so a bunch of us rented rooms at Saturn's Return for the weekend. Everything about the stay was perfect! The grounds were beautiful and we really enjoyed the walking path and picking delicious blackberries. The breakfasts each morning were spectacular. This place is magic! We had the best weekend ever visiting the Saturn's Return inn. Everything is the highest quality and best materials, from the towels and linens to the breakfast and even the filtered drinking water. We often hung out on the sun patio chatting, and even took our morning coffee over to the sheep pasture to spend time there. The farm store is stocked with amazing local foods and wine. We bought a mini bottle of the plum wine the first night, and went back the second day to stock up on salts, jams, and flower before we left. My only recommendation is to bring a cooler so you can bring home more of their fresh goodies and meat! You'll be a new person after spending some time here. Its beauty and serenity is unmatched. All around, I couldn't recommend more. I'll probably never stay anywhere else when we come to San Juan. We just left and we are already planning another trip back. read more

This place is beyond perfect! I stayed in late August '23 while visiting my daughter who is working at Roche Harbor. It was 6-8 min from her housing so location was perfect for me. The hosts were perfect, attentive yet providing privacy as well. The room was very comfortable and the entire Inn is spotless. The breakfast provided each morning is delicious and provides the ideal start to your day. There is a guest refrigerator available which was very handy as well. We didn't have time to explore the 42 acres available but I'm sure that would have been just as perfect as everything else! Lastly, the cost was very reasonable compared to other local options and worth every dollar! read more

We just stayed for several days and had a wonderful time in this beautiful peaceful place. It's not near the water but out in the country. The inn is old and being renovated by a very nice young couple. Breakfast was toast, fresh eggs, jams, yogurt and granola, and our last day there was smoked salmon. Lovely and romantic. We were excited to stay at Saturn's Return and it exceeded our expectations! The grounds and lodging are beautiful. We wish that we had planned more time to sit and enjoy the property. Our room was on the first floor and had a detached private bathroom and felt very private. The care and attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the stay. The local food featured in the breakfast was delicious and made even more special due to the locality. The sense of place permeated everything. We can't wait to return! read more

My sister and I just stayed at Saturn's Return for a couple of nights. The hosts, Emma and Wiley, couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming. They had all sorts of suggestions for us to explore, both on and off the farm. The stairs to the 2nd floor rooms are a bit steep, so just request a 1st floor room if that might be an issue. There is a handrail, however. The beds are super comfortable, and the bathrooms are supplied with all the shower products. Bring your own if you are sensitive to smell, though. Breakfast was a delicious assortment of soft-boiled eggs, granola, different milks, hearty bread with spreadings, homemade yogurt, salmon and kiwi (2nd morning), coffee, teas and water. There was also some nice jazz playing in the background. They are in the process of painting the interior of the inn and so forth, and I anticipate a totally lovely result. I would certainly recommend staying here! read more
