Things certainly have changed in regard to mall traffic; I have never really been a fan of going to…read morethe mall and usually just stuck with the "outside department stores" that had separate entrances (Macy's, Dillards, Penneys). Can certainly count on my hand the number of times I have been inside the mall since 2019. However, sometimes it is good to just walk around (when there are very few people around). :o) Wanted to purchase a few items from Bath and Body Works and actually enjoyed the quiet; the mall is still nice and clean; good choice of food items in the food court; quite a few new stores since the last time I visited inside the mall. On a different note, except for going to AMC and Belk every now and then, not sure what caused the downfall of the Tallahassee Mall, which I really liked at one point. :-(

Canopy Roads Brewing, who we featured graciously at our Elite Event at Lucky Goat Coffee in November are slated to open a space here. Dreamland BBQ, an Italian multi-restaurant and an Urban Food Market are destined to open in the coming months. And a music venue, too!! Steve Miller Band (who is awesome live, even for a man in his 70s) will be performing the inaugural concert at the Pavilion in late July. Cheers to a brand-spanking new Tallahassee Mall, ahem, Centre of Tallahassee! I have to stop doing that...

But…read moreI had 10 mins to kill on that side of town and stopped in to Burlington Coat Factory to get a peep at the (former) food court, see my photos. I'm excited to see the finished product. Burlington has had significant renovations already and has tons more floor space (new layout). Don't even get me started on the amazing deals I got on light blocking drapes (set of 2, 84" for $12!!!). Color me excited. Can't wait!

There is a movie cinema, Dollar Tree, Boot Barn and such. Casual and fast food restaurants face US-90. The Bass Pro tolerates overnight RV parking, which is always a plus. The lot is a little sloped but that was quickly solved with two leveling cubes. Decent shade and the landscaping is well maintained. Still, parking lots are a big draw for bad people so be sure your doors are locked and keep valuables out of sight. It was a long time in the making, but it finally happened. I bit the bullet and got a Costco…read moremembership. I mean, I would go beforehand with friends or family who had a membership and occasionally get items. Moreover, I downloaded their app that accesses their website, and well, most products you can purchase without a membership and have them delivered to your home. I did this last bit probably for a year or so. I began on and off questioning if I should get a membership given my use, and well, now that I've moved to Tallahassee and conversations constantly came up in my social group about Costco, well - it was inevitable. I joined because I could finally justify it. I no longer live alone and this is Tallahassee, not South Florida, where variety is running rampant. Do I have any regrets? None at all. I signed up online, linked the membership to my account, received an e-mail and took said e-mail with me to the counter at this Costco. Paul attended me and he was so warm and friendly. Got my membership card and went on in to make a few purchases. Was surprised that they had self-checkout at this location, but hey, it worked out great for me. Probably the least amount of time I've ever spent waiting to pay at Costco. Definitely will return.
