This store carries a huge selection of patterns, kits, floss, fabric, and all the notions that a stitcher could want, and if Karen doesn't have it, she can probably order it for you. They have their patterns nicely organized and provide a table and seating for customers to take their time looking for the perfect pattern. This store is a great little craft shop! I saw it last year while on vacation and never got to stop so I was really excited that I got to stop in this year. There was anything from beginner kits to really extravagant cross stitch kits. I loved that the projects were separated by holidays and they even had a little Halloween corner for weirdos like me that enjoy creepy skulls and Halloween decor all year round! The lady in the shop the day I came in was extremely helpful and really nice. It may not seem like much, but when she threw my stuff in a cloth tote bag (for free) it made me feel even happier for purchasing something from the shop rather than just buying something at a chain craft store or online. I wish I lived closer so I could benefit from having someone to sit down with to teach me a thing or two! read more

I'm not a huge fan of referring to this store as an "arts supplies" store, because that's not actually what it is. Yes, if you are into needlepoint or cross stitch (as the store name reflects), you can purchase projects here and possibly even take a class! However, Cross Stitch Cupboard also sells an assortment of other goods that you might enjoy, even if you aren't a cross stitch enthusiast! The store has a decent collection of Vera Bradley merchandise, Yankee Candles, and home goods. For example, if you're looking for home goods related to your favorite Florida sports team (Gators, Noles, Dolphins, etc), this is your place. You'll also find some nice baby gifts (frames, albums, that sort of thing), and a lot of Christmas items. Cross Stitch Cupboard sells those Christmas towns that people collect (forgive me for not having the specific names!), in addition to ornaments. This store is also fabulous around major holidays, because you'll find adorable and unique decorations for any holiday. If you're in the area, I'd suggest coming just after a holiday as well to take advantage of great discounts. I came in after Christmas and bought some ornaments at a low price! I grew up coming to this store, and as an adult I've come here to purchase items for my own home. I couldn't love this business more. Definitely come in for a visit! read more

This is on my list of best needlework shops in the USA. I am an active member of the Embroiderers' Guild of America so I'm familiar with a variety of needlework and I've traveled and seen some fine shops across the country. This is one of the best. First, the front of the store is premium non-needlework items like Vera Bradley. Yes, you can bring your non-stitching friends here without the cries of boredom! The back is a wonderful needlework shop. They have 26 (yup, I counted) full-size spinner racks of charts ranging from "vintage" (a nice way of saying older) to the latest designs from the top designers. They have an extensive selection of fabrics, lots of stitching toys (also known as stitching accessories like scissors, lights, magnifiers, etc), floor and lap frames, scroll frames and stretcher bars, canvas work supplies, and lots and LOTS of stitched samples. I didn't ask about framing but I did see a framing section in the store. I saw this place about ten years ago and couldn't wait to get back there again and it is still great! A beginner may feel overwhelmed so ask for help. Intermediate and advanced stitchers should run RUN! to this shop. In all seriousness if you are on a cruise that stops at Fort Lauderdale or Miami, consider coming by this place. This place is my second favorite after Nordic Needle, a world-class destination. read more
