An interesting candy store nestled in Wilton Manors along the infamous Wilton Drive amongst several other businesses comically named with sexual innuendos. The front wall and roof of the store screamed Candy Candy Candy by it's vibrantly colorful lollipops, gum drops and taffy decor. This was going to be a quick stop since parking on Wilton Drive is limited and notorious for citations by the aggressive meter maid. Based on my concern, the sole employee advised that a few free parking spaces in the rear are available for a strict maximum of fifteen minutes, which is a kind offering. The inside was much larger than the front view of the building reflects. The giant yellow Haribo bear stood proudly by the front door with bags of sour gummies hanging from it's chest. For chocolate enthusiasts, there was an entire section dedicated to fresh chocolate treats. At a quick glance, it was evident that a large amount of the candies were old school big brands. Aside from candies, there were novelty gifts which include coffee mugs with celebrity, pride rainbow and 80's TV shows like Seinfeld, Peanuts or Laverne and Shirley prints. My gramps and I were very tight; one of the best friends I ever had. One of the many things I adored about him was the stories of his life experiences; it's one of the many reasons I love old stuff.... the first time I entered TO THE MOON, I was immediately blown away by the selection of candies and treats that were not just hard to find but I didn't thing were even made anymore. At time of this first visit, my gramps was about 98 years old... I showed up to his home that afternoon with a bag of treats; His smile and emotions were amazing just proving that candy brings joy. Some of the goodies he loved: Wax bottles Candy buttons Necco wafers Black licorice Mary Jane Abba-Zaba But the store made everyone happy, my kids love all the "FUN" offerings... unusual candies such as oversized gummies and root beer sucking candies. The wife loved that they go beyond candy... for example, the Nutella you buy in America is in a plastic container (and loaded with all sorts of additives and oils; that why it has to be mixed heavily) but TO THE MOON has hard to find European versions of good including Nutella (none of the crap American allows but Europe does not allow); it's healthier and tastier (it's always in a glass container, not plastic). And of course... the novelty gifts are next level. No need to visit the pervert shop next door when you started seeing the shelves closely. This place is wild! Not only do they have every candy known to man they also have extremely funny gag gifts. They also stock a variety of unique, cute and creative greeting cards. I have always wanted go stop in and finally got the chance and it was well worth the wait. We went a little overboard and bought about 10 different types of haribu gummies and other random treats. Many of the items were distributed from Germany and had German writing on them which was cool. We also found some random candies from Sweden and Norway. The two guys working at the store were extremely helpful and helped me pick out the perfect candy for my mom who is a big fan of circus peanuts. What is there not to love about a candy story that has an array of delicacies from around the world. Located in Wilton manors, they have a lot of hidden gems and they are constantly restocking new goodies! My favorite candy that I've tried from them is the Ruby chocolate and I'm always keeping an eye out on when it's back in stock. There's only one person working in the store and the gentleman is polite. While the place feels a bit cluttered, there's so many knick knacks to discover. Cool candy shop in Wilton Mannors that offers Vegan Haribo candy. Usually, we hit the jackpot on the vegan gummies, unfortunately, they didn't have much when we went and said they were waiting on a shipment to come in. Besides the vegan Haribo, they also sell the gelatin varieties. But they're going to be different than the ones you find at the gas station or grocery. Why? They're the ones made in Germany! However, we did find luck in getting some vegan chocolates and lavender candies. My wife also picked up some sugar free varieties that they sell for me and a chocolate payday bar for her. Parking is behind the store and is paid. I usually drop my daughter and Karen off to shop since it's too crowded on the inside, so when it gets busy, there is no room to move around. They also sell certain flavors of Jenni's Ice cream as well--both dairy and non dairy. She is the kind of friend that knows the best of the best so without question I went. Once inside I felt like I was in a quaint shop you would find in the Village in NYC. This place has a lot to take in so plan accordingly for at least 1 hour to get to see everything. I started at the right side of the store and went around about three times at least and know I missed something. First that I got was the hard to find candy I love. Vanilla Turkish Taffy stick, Goldenberg peanut chews, Divinity Fudge with pecan's made in Dillon, Georgia 1918 same year my Dad was born. They had one pound containers of Jelly Bellies the good flavors so I got a pound of bubble gum. They also had so many great gifts, mugs and coasters with pussy cats. Last but not least if you look up Christmas ornaments and of my favorite Pink Flamingo's! The owner Antonio says the collection gets larger closer to Christmas so I will definitely go back in early November. I am sure there is enough flamingo's just to do one in that alone. Opened in 2005 by Antonio Dumas, To the Moon stocks thousands of candy's from 80 countries so any sweet tooth can be satisfied. Dumas decided on the stores name as a tribute to Jackie Gleason's famous line in the TV show the Honeymooners. Like the Kramdens, Dumas is from Brooklyn and his parents are named Ralph and Alice. Come to the dark side with an entire wall of black licorice. Or maybe chocolate is your vice. Gummies, gum, mints, marzipan, lollipops, taffy, hard candy, they have you covered. Candy you ate as a kid, yes, candy your parents ate as a kid, yes again. Bulk candy dates back to brands from 1806! It is probably safe to say that if you can think it up, they carry it. In addition to a wonderland of candy they also sell gag gifts, greeting cards, classic toys, tin lunchboxes, political humor items, collectibles, novelties, ice cream, and some of the most interesting Christmas ornaments I have ever seen. They carry over 13,000 different items. This is a great place to find a funny, unique, or sweet gift. The not so good right now is that the street in front of the store is blocked off. I had to park in the back of the store for $2 an hour which I did not like. The store is also super cramped. It's like shopping in a walk-in closet. After a short time I started feeling claustrophobic. If I had a specific candy in mind or gift I needed I could definitely find it here. I plan to come back and do some shopping for holiday gifts. This store has every type of candy and gum and mints you can think of from your childhood and your parent's childhood -- maybe even your grand parents! They also have books and cards and gag gifts. There are international candies too -- including chocolates. They have bottled drinks and a number of other food items. There are a ton of gag gifts and holiday ornaments. Everything is a bit twisted. So you do need a sense of humor. The main problem is that it's crammed into a small space so claustrophobes need to be forewarned. There is a ton of inventory. And after kids (or a busy weekend), it's not always the easiest to find what you're looking for. The other problem was that they are working on Wilton Drive out front. You have to pay to park in the lot behind the store and it's 24 hours a day every day. This was a little irksome having to pay to shop... especially since we didn't stay very long. It's fun to come by and see their inventory, if you're nearby or need something right away. Otherwise, you might want to just shop on line. read more

I'll be honest - the only reason I entered To The Moon was because DOGEcoin memes were being observed at the time, and I had to have a check-in there so I could say I was going To The Moon as well. I'm very happy I went there. There's so much variety it's insane. Although not perfectly ordered, a lot of the chocolates and the candies are sorted by country. You can find a varied assortment of Japanese Kit-Kats like the Matcha ones, and various assorted other flavors (I found ones on my first visit that were Mimosa flavored, and they had alcohol by volume content!). I even found Gluten Free Double Stuff Oreos. Seriously - these exist. If you're trying to find a particular piece of candy from around the world, or if you're trying to find a new piece of sugar to create a vice to, this is the place to find it. read more

Went here today after reading the "50 things to do in south Florida" article Yelp sent out a few weeks ago. If there is one thing I love, that is candy. Nostalgia is a close second. My GF and I drove to Wilton Manors and met up with one of our BFFs and her son. As soon as I walked in the store, a big smile appeared on my face. This place has so much!! Lunchboxes, candy from all over the world, toys from the 80s/90s, cards, tons of novelty items, gag gifts, snacks, friendly people. The gentleman behind the counter was so funny and friendly. He gave us the spiel on what the store has, but I was already engrossed in the myriad of licorice choices. I do love me some licorice! We all meandered the store for over an hour, peppering the store with remarks like "Oh my God i haven't seen this since I was 13", "wowwww remember this?", "i am going to buy this for a gift" and "i cant wait to eat these." I bought some German Haribo candy mix, tea flavored Kit Kats, Hi Chews, licorice, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, sassafrass candy, Neccos, some other candy and a Jolt Cola (all the sugar, twice the caffeine!) I spent a fair amount of money, but I don't care. It was totally worth it to walk down memory lane today. PLEASE do yourself a favor and make a trip to this store! To the Moon can refer to Space Suits, Packaged & Dried Foods, or quite possibly any and every candy you can remember from you past coming to the future! Parking is always easy and accessible with metered street parking and also a back lot (free) then going in their back door! Hehe! Once inside you are hit with an overwhelming feeling! You want to be looking in EVERY corner, crevice, and under everything (tables, other candies, EVERYWHERE). For the first timer you will find Chocolates, Licorice, Gummies, Old Time Candies, Sugar Free Candy, Seasonal Candies, International Candy, Local Candies, Greeting Cards, Nic-Nac's, and more! This is all under the 1,100 square foot store so you can imagine the possibilities! For me though there are a lot of holdback here with the quality of what you are actually receiving once you go home (or in the car) and open up that much anticipated candy item. Prices are not cheap so I expect top quality. I have bought Almond Bark but once actually getting them home and biting into the chocolate realizing that these are peanuts. This container actually contained 1/2 and 1/2 with Peanuts & Almonds. Weird. My husband loves Licorice so we always get atleast one fun flavored Licorice but they seem to always taste old or are sticky stuck all together. This has also happened with a couple of Chocolates in the plastic containers tasting old or indifferent. Do not let this deter you; just be warned! You can really find some awesome things in this store for special occasions, gifts, or a treat night for yourself! There is always a 10% off your total with Check In but make sure they actually use it. They are not the fondest of the deal as the owner acted like he used the deal during our last visit then when looking at the receipt it was clear he did not. read more

Silly me. I've scuddled or shuffled by this place many a time nary paying a heed to any treasurers within. I thought it was nothing but a rag or novelty shop which it is but which it is not, since it is soooooooo much more. One can hardly begin to list the items crammed into this little piece of shopping heaven. Candies from all over the world, even my hard to find Dutch licorice and my Swedish Red Fish. Candies I had never heard of and some I had only dreamed of trying including historical candies I thought I would never see again, and all at reasonable prices. There are also fig spreads, jellies, various preserves, along with novelty bacon designed wallets, band aids as well as bacon flavored salts. Lighting boas and just about anything and everything that could please and amaze. This is the perfect place to treat yourself or to locate that unique gift for someone else. I never thought I'd fall in love, particularly with a store, but as so happens with love affairs, they strike when you least expect it and I now must confess that I am in love with this place. read more

Years ago I met Antonio, the owner of To The Moon. He told me about his family ties to the Honeymooners (his parents' names, his sister's vocation, etc.) and how that influenced the name of the candy store. That's cool but what makes this incredibly overstuffed shop impressive is the amount of vintage and hard-to-find candy! I recently bought Chips, Italian licorice drops, that my grandfather ate when I was a kid! The inventory includes candy created from the 1800's to the present so you'll see candy from your youth and that of past generations of your family! He also has unique flavors of candy (like carrot cake flavored M&Ms that sold out FAST) and racks of food/candy from Europe so if you want a piece of food from a place you went on vacation or where you used to live you'll find it here! Half of the store is devoted to off-color gift items ranging from magnets to statues, and everything in-between. I've purchased a variety of items for co-workers and friends and they've loved 'em! For a recent UYE I purchased candy from Mexico - and Antonio had an assortment of items from which to choose! He even got on the phone, after checking his computer for warehouse inventory, and called vendors to see what other candy he could find for me. He made calls as if I needed candy for hundreds of people! He's just a wonderful and nice guy! I've entered the store from the Wilton Manners Drive entrance and the back entrance through the parking lot so it's convenient to shop at the store because of the parking options.The store is open into the night so don't be surprised if it's packed on date night! The only negative is that the candy and inventory is stocked to the rafters - he has 20,000 square feet of inventory in a Cracker Jack box sized store. Every time you shuffle your feet forward your eyes will see 200 new items. Just know that the candy is organized by year and type for the most part - and then shoved into every space after that! I love feeling like a kid again by seeing the treats of my childhood and for giving that experience to my family and friends by way of gifting them shopping sprees! I'm running low on Grandpa's candy - and considering that the candy has 2.5 calories each, I'll be making a candy run soon! read more
