Contracted Cross Town Movers to move some items from Hornbrook to Medford. Movers took a 250.00 Ice chest that wasn't among the items they were to move. Ice chest was not delivered with the things they were supposed to move. Upon calling management, we were told to basically go to hell. This company charged 501.00 to move the furniture, plus a 250 Ice chest that we'll never see again. Do yourself a favor, use another moving company. read more

I would not recommend this company. A tenant used them and they hit the gutters on my building. They did not even notify me of the damage. I repaired the damaged gutters. The next time they were in they did the same thing. I stopped the driver, and he admitted that he had hit the building. He gave me the name of his supervisor. I called the supervisor and left messages. I called again, and the number had been changed. I never received a return call. read more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!! When booking, I had given a detailed explanation of the items to be moved so a determination could be made on size of truck needed and also size of crew. The move turned out to be a 3 person job and only 2 were sent (Austin and John) plus the truck wasn't big enough to hold everything. They had NOT BEEN GIVEN ANY DETAILS OF THE MOVE. One of the young men who came was quite sick, very tired, sweating, moving very slow. He kept complaining and had to rest frequently. This slowed down the other guy. They also didn't arrive with any water to drink or snacks so I kept giving them water and food and my roommate gave them energy drinks. When booking I was told the job would probably take 4-5 hours. After 5 hours they decided to have the branch manager bring another guy to help and after 3 more hours they pleaded to be able to come back the following day to finish because they were so exhausted. I agreed to this only because I was told by the Eugene office that I could delay payment until discussing the problems with the managers when they returned on Monday morning. At that point I left to finish some things at my old apartment and my roommate stayed with them to wrap things up. Thirty minutes later I got a call from my roommate saying that the movers would not come back to finish the move the next day unless payment was made in full, even though I HAD BEEN TOLD THAT PAYMENT COULD BE DELAYED UNTIL AFTER TALKING WITH THE REGIONAL MANAGER WHO WOULD BE AVAILABLE ON MONDAY MORNING. Of course we had no choice at that point. The move cost us $700.00 more than we planned based on the information I was given when booking. I felt that we should not have been charged for the additional 2 hours of work on the following day because of our horrible, stressful experience. I'm a 73 year old woman on a fixed income. I spoke to Brendan, the manager in the Eugene office and he was not at all kind or understanding. He refused to honor this and told me I would be sent to collections if I didn't comply. We scheduled 2 loaders a month ago, then confirmed 2 weeks ago. Drove from Tennessee to Medford with a 26 foot empty trailer in 4 days to make sure we were there to meet loaders. By 10 o'clock no one shows, supposed to be there between 9 and 10. Here we are sitting at storage unit in the Cold I'm 65 my husband 66 no one comes. I call Kevin, Kevin doesn't seem to know what's going on, he says he'll call his crew, 30 minutes later I call again, Kevin says no one is calling him back. I canceled. I called back savers they have someone coming at 10:45 to help us! Why has everyone lost their sense of integrity!!!! read more

This is the worst experience for my mother and father in law. They were supposed to get there shipment on Wednesday and it didn't come till Friday. Because my husband actually called and try to get them to deliver the stuff earlier. They said they were going to be here today Friday at 9 o'clock and they weren't there till 3 PM.They should have gotten multiple phone numbers so that everything will come out to a certain level of agreance. Why would this company empty out the shipment of the persons house into a warehouse and let it sit. Not to mention that a suitcase with their medicines have disappeared. I think it's called taking Advantage of older people. The delivery guys were awesome. But the management was not great at all. I do not have their own delivery trucks is kind of weird to get rented trucks as awkward. I wish you all the best that goes to this moving company. read more

I was promised 3 men, only 2 came. Was moving from a house to storage units with no putting together furniture. So many pieces were being put into storage so fast and my items weren't being taken care of. I am sure when I open up my things when I get them out of storage and settled, I will have broken items and things will be dirty even though I had covering sheets for my furniture. Also when it was time to pay I had to pay an extra 500.00 because it took longer. If I had the 3 men I was promised I wouldn't have too pay extra time. I have moved over a dozen times in my life and never had such a bad experience until with Cross Town Movers. read more

My horrible experience with Bekins Cross Town Movers (BCTM) of Medford Oregon. After getting an estimate we decide to purchase our own boxes and pack up 90% of our belongings ourselves to save money. My mistake was in letting them pack the other 10%. Packing day arrives and 2 guys from BCTM show up. All they have are all old, used U-Haul boxes. Buffoon #1 went to work in the kitchen chucking stuff into these used U-Haul boxes, barely filling them, not using any packing. Buffoon #2 went to work on the artwork. He decided that he would make boxes out of cut up cardboard and packing tape. No padding, artwork banging against each other, gaps and holes in his homemade boxes, one didn't even have a bottom on it and the artwork just fell out. We ended up buying NEW U-Haul picture boxes and repacking the artwork ourselves. Pick-up day comes and they are running late. Shop issues, truck issues, people issues, blah blah blah, the apologies have begun. Due to the late start they have to quit early, it's too hot and everything won't fit in the truck they brought anyway. They come the next day to finish loading and put our items into their storage facility. Everything stored now, delivery set for August 26. A few days later I get a call from BCTM wanting payment for packing, loading and storage. OK, except that BCTM wants me to pay EXACTLY what is on the estimate. Ummmm, no. The estimate was based on them packing much more than they did. They agreed to cut the packing fee in half, I still paid more than I should have. On August 26 I get a phone call. The truck was overloaded and they had to turn around to unload 1,500 pounds to get under the maximum weight. They are now on their way but it will be too late for delivery on August 26, delivery will now be on August 27. As for the 1,500 pounds, they will deliver that within 2 weeks but need to check with the schedulers and get back to me. They don't. August 27 arrives and so does BCTM. They begin unloading. The worst part was seeing the damage that has been done to our personal belongings. Basically they do not care about your stuff. Period. As this disaster is unfolding around me, BCTM calls wanting payment. In full. While still holding 1,500 pounds worth of our stuff back in Oregon. Ummmm, no. They agreed to pro-rate the payment based on the weight. I'm told we'll get the rest of our stuff within 2 weeks. September 7 arrives and I finally hear from BCTM. They will be delivering the 1,500 pounds on September 9. September 9 arrives and I receive a call from BCTM. They are not coming. Blah, blah, blah, more excuses, more apologies. They will now deliver on September 15. September 15 arrives and I receive a call from BCTM. They want the rest of the payment that was pro-rated from their partial delivery in August. Ummmm no, your guys aren't even here. They agree to wait until the movers actually arrive. I then receive another call from BCTM. Yes, they are still coming but our antique china cabinet did not make it on this trip, blah, blah, blah, more excuses, more apologies. I'm told that the china cabinet will be delivered "within the week". The truck arrives and BCTM immediately calls for payment. Foolishly, I paid the balance in full. They unload our stuff, minus the china cabinet, offer more apologies and leave. September 21 arrives, our antique china cabinet should be delivered by tomorrow. I call to find out what time they will be showing up. They are going to call the driver and call me right back. They never called back. September 22 arrives, I call BCTM and no one answers the phone. They now screening their calls. I leave a message. No one ever calls me. September 23 arrives, I call BCTM, no one answers, I leave a message. I call a second number I have for them, no one answers, I leave a message. I call a third number I found for them and someone answers! I explain what is going on. He says he will make some calls and call me right back. He doesn't. I decide to have my wife call from her phone. Someone answers! She hears these insincere apologies and is promised that they will call her back by the end of the day with a firm delivery date. At 7:30pm, they call to say they will call by noon tomorrow with a firm delivery date. September 24 arrives, noon arrives, no one has called. At 2pm my wife and they answer again! More apologies about not calling back but we now have a firm date of October 9. October 7 arrives and we call BCTM to confirm our delivery. No one answers, no one calls back. Now they are no longer answering my wife's phone number. October 8 arrives and still no word from BCTM. We call twice today, at 1:30 and 4:10. No one answers. We leave messages. No one calls back. Delivery is scheduled for tomorrow. October 9 arrives, delivery day. No contact from BCTM in over 2 weeks. We call, twice, no answer. We wait all day for our delivery. No one shows up. We now realize that we are never going to receive the antique china cabinet. Stay away from Cross Town! read more

We just relocated from out of state to Central Point. We used Bekins as our moving company. The "helpers" at this end were provided by Cross Town Movers and Storage. Noel and Shawn M. were extremely competent and professional and took great care with the unloading of our belongings. They both got along great with our driver Tony who followed us in from Phoenix, AZ. The 3 of them together got the job done with as little stress as possible, and got us unloaded and settled in less time than I anticipated. Thank guys for a job well done. My experience with Cross Town Movers was excellent. The response time when requesting a quote was literally 15 minutes and the price was on par with other moving companies that I researched. Dewayne secured a slot for me with very little notice which eased my mind. Mike #2 & Levi were the people who unloaded our stuff from the "pods" and into their truck and then to our apartment. They were very professional, made things feel easy, and even offered moral support when I was getting overwhelmed with the thought of unpacking everything. We would not ever recommend Cross Town Movers for any help! They were always late, and did not call when they were. Tom, the sales rep, did not communicate the correct cost, and made excuses for his help always being late. We had set them up to load twice for us. The 2nd time they were over an hour late. Tom and Jesse loaded the truck incorrect, and we could not close the door. The loading help with Tom and Jesse was sloppy, with no care! This delayed our move even more. They lacked service, care and experience. Even with the constant screw ups and late help, we never received any break on the cost. The only positive help was the first load, Andrew, who actually knew how to load. We had to remind Tom of our schedule and dates constantly via phone and email, however they were late! We would not recommend them to anyone. Poor service and lack of care!! read more

We were very impressed with Ray, Cody and Erick. They took extreme care not to damage our furniture. They were very good at packing the truck. I would hire this exact team again if we were to move again. These guys are hard working and very good.The reason I gave this company only a three star is because we had an estimator come to the house we were in and he said it would take them 8 hours to move us into our new house. On moving day we were surprised that they brought a small truck rather than the big one we talked about. We should have been told ahead of time to see if we wanted to go ahead with the move in the small truck or hire 5 guys with a bigger truck. The actual hours it took to move us was 15 hours versus the eight estimated. The move lasted till 1am in the morning. It took them 4 trips in the small truck. It would have taken even longer had my husband not helped with the move. He was working moving box's down stairs all day. We only had them move furniture into the new house and all the box's were left in our garage by our choice. We Never had a move last that long and it was exhausting on all of us. The good part is, we did receive a nice discount when we complained about how long it took. They did try to make it right. read more
