I love working working out at CrossFit 1607 when I am in town. Traveling all the time for work can be a little challenging when you want to work out in a decent facility. A smaller facility but with GREAT programming and PHENOMENAL coaches and staff. Equipment seems to be taken care of and updated as needed and they are planning a bit of an expansion to the facility. You can tell they genuinely care about their members and the quality of their programming. I have been doing CrossFit for a numbers of years and, through 1607, have been able to improve multiple movements that other coaches did not pick up on or care to coach me through. They are also very collaborate and have worked with multiple other organizations and businesses in the Williamsburg area. read more

It's hard to believe that I've been doing Crossfit for almost three years at this point. I've been to quite a few boxes, and I can definitively say that Crossfit 1607 has been my favorite so far. First off, while I did not start my Crossfit experience at 1607, what I have seen is that this is one of the best places to try it out if you're interested in starting up Crossfit. This is a testament to the exceptional quality of coaching that you'll get from Matt, Garrett, Michelle, Marieke, and Chelsea. While I get that there is a certain stigma about Crossfit being "dangerous" and susceptible to injury, all that will be negated by good coaching, proper form, and smart workout planning. Our coaches at Crossfit 1607 excel in all of these areas. Moreover, they'll get to know you well personally and take care of you in the event that you have any injuries or complications. For experienced Crossfitters like myself, the gym is an excellent place to challenge yourself. The athletes and coaches here constantly challenge and push one another, and the workouts are always challenging. Moreover, the new location of the gym has provided us with an excellent setup to keep improving our workouts. Plenty of space, lots of great equipment, and always getting better! Last, and most importantly, the community here is amazing. This holds true for most Crossfit boxes, but everyone at 1607 really looks after one another and takes the time to get to know one another. Such a great box! I can't stress enough how wonderful everyone at 1607 is. I was only a member here for about six months before I moved out of Williamsburg, but they set the bar very high as I search for another gym in a new city. The coaches are patient, kind, and welcoming. You can tell they truly care about each athlete's progress and wellbeing. The programming is efficient and challenging for every skill level. If you're looking to get stronger and find a great community of people at the same time, you've found a great place to go :) I would continue here if I could and would recommend 1607 to absolutely anyone. read more

They push you as hard as you want to be pushed, and when they see that you need an extra push at 7am because you haven't fully woken up yet, they push harder. Crossfit 1607 is worth every penny. This is a great gym in Williamsburg. My instructor was very focused on safety and performance, which really set me at ease. The instructor inspected my form before he allowed me to perform the exercise which gave him major points in my book. He also gave me options to modify the exercise if I needed to. The exercise itself was challenging but well-rounded. He constantly checked up on me to make sure I was doing well especially on my first experience. The facility has a bathroom with a shower, it also has options to purchase pre-workout or post workout snacks such as RX bars. They also sell protein powder which I think is incredibly smart because I almost always forget protein powder when I go to the gym. The location of this gym is also very convenient, next to a lot of shopping plazas. I would highly recommend this gym especially based on the experience I had with my instructor. read more

I lived in Williamsburg for 2 months for school and was a member at 1607. At that time I had only been doing crossfit for about 3 months, but was already really committed to it. Even still, I had already been exposed to a number of crossfit gyms and coaches. I was BLOWN AWAY by the quality of coaching at 1607! Matt, Garrett, and Michelle are top-notch, maybe the best coaches I might ever encounter. In those 2 months I learned so quickly so fast and became so much better because of their level of programming and the attention they gave me to help perfect my techniques. I can't recommend this gym enough. I wish I could stick around Williamsburg just for this gym. read more

I've been coming here for 7 months; never did CrossFit before. At 52, I'm now in the best shape of my life. . . but the best part is that the learning and improvement never stops. The coaches are amazing; they are supportive and never make you feel "inferior" if you have to scale down. They are also very focused on form and technique so you avoid injuries. One of my favorite things about CrossFit 1607 is the sense of community it providers. You become friends with people in your classes, support each other through the WODs, and really become, as one of my fellow Crossfitters said, a "CrossFit family." read more

I have trained at Crossfit 1607 since they opened their doors. Although, I had lifted weights for years, I was a complete novice at Crossfit and really had to start at the ground up learning proper technique and form. I am still learning. It is not an overnight process. It would not be so rewarding if it were easy. The coaches at Crossfit 1607 are exceptional at educating and motivating their athletes in a relaxed, supportive environment. They possess the knowledge, enthusiasm, and patience required of successful teachers. They can scale the workouts to your ability level whether that is as a novice or elite athlete.They do their job very well and I am always challenged by the WOD's (workout of the day). I particularly like the small class sizes they have which allows the coaches time to help you individually if and when you need it. This review would not be complete without mentioning what a diverse and wonderful group of people make up the 1607 community. The family of 1607 is an amazing body of welcoming and supportive people. Was in town for a week and decided to drop in to the gym. The gym is in a great location and has a great setup. The midnight brothers were a couple of pros that gave us equal attention even though we were just passing through. Workouts were tough but achievable and coached throughout.
