When I first got back into the gym, post-covid, out-of-shape, I loved the concept of Orangetheory…read moreand was excited to try it. However, my body was not prepared for the intensity of the workouts. The treadmill running was particularly tough on an old foot injury. The instructors absolutely offered modifications to ease my foot woes, but my competitive nature didn't want to participate if I couldn't go all out. Fast forward 2 years later, I'm in much better shape physically and I decided to give it another go. The biggest challenge for me this time wasn't the workout itself, but rather to acknowledge my own limitations, resist my competitive nature, & heed alternatives to running - like walking on an incline OR using the strider. I enjoyed Orangetheory so much more this go-around, it's truly a great full body workout. I personally love the built-in variety, since you will always rotate between rowing, strength and treadmill work. If your goal is to maximize your one-hour at the gym, enjoy a mix of cardio & strength training, and burn a ton of calories, Orangetheory will deliver results. First time here today and it was a great experience. F45 Ellisville is hosting Hyrox prep classes…read moreand this was the first intro class with the basics in mind. I was greeted by Alyssa and then Brody upon arrival and giving a quick rundown prior to start. Once everyone arrived and the class started, we got a full breakdown and expectations looking ahead. Class setup was (10) stations with (3) sets per station, 1:30, rest, 0:45, rest and 0:30 then transition to next station. Basis for the intro class was to provide stations that mimic or provide basis for the Hyrox competition with natural progression in spiciness in the coming weeks. Class was tough - I pushed myself and definitely look forward to the next one. 40 mins flew by and I felt like I only competed with myself from start to finish. Very nice staff, clean and welcoming facility and hard circuit training style class today.

Sweatastic! Found this local F45 through classpass (message me if you have CP questions) and I'm so…read moreglad I tried it out. I took the Tuesday 9am class, and turns out Tuesdays are strength days, so it was less of a cardio focus. Still, I kept my heart rate up the entire time, because not only are you changing stations quickly, the moves are structured with some that will bring your heart rate up to ensure metabolic burn. I loved the positive vibe from both coaches (eek I forgot their names, man and a woman) and how they seemed to be watching my form at the right times and correcting a few small things here and there during my workout. The workout structure: It legit felt like I was in class for 20 minutes, not the 50 total my fitbit said. This is a plus for anyone who tends to get bored, or doesn't have tons of time to spend in the gym. In the 45 minutes of actual work I did, my fitbit said I still burned close to the same amount of calories from my self-guided lifting sessions at the gym that sometimes take double that time. The day I visited, we had 9 stations (each station is a different move/activity), and at these stations, we did three sets before rotating. Most of the stations were right next to one another, but it wasn't exactly circular, so if I got lost on where to go next, I just watched where someone else in my group was heading. There's also looped videos on the walls showing you the movements for each station, in case you need extra guidance or want to make sure you're doing a backward lunge instead of a forward lunge, etc. After completing all nine stations, three sets total at each station, we had what felt like a 30 second break before repeating all 9 stations again. The coaches weren't militant about "no breaks, no water until we say" which I've actually experienced at some places who run circuit-style workouts. I appreciated the ability to drink water after doing tons of under-hand pull ups. We finished class with a 2 minute plank. I made it to 1:40, dropped to my knees, but then at the urging from the coaches, finished the last 5 seconds back in final plank position. I was reminded to tuck my pelvis, keep everything in a line, and a few other tips focusing on form. Each day of the week is a different workout - I hope I can try all of them so I can compare! I saw they are (at time of me writing in Nov) a newer gym, and my only wish would be they offer childcare on weekends, but maybe one day once established. I enjoyed everyone's energy, the encouragement, the focus on form, the constant change, the adaptability for each station based on where I was at, and how quickly I got a good workout in!

He was told he had access to kids clubs with his basic membership and I paid to have the second tier so I also had access to kids club. Since 2021 we've been taking our kids here to kids club, as well as the club fitness in another state when we lived there. Ever since it updated to Club elite, we've had issues scanning into the kids club area. They let us in, we scanned in to drop our kids off and went to work out. Now notice, we've dropped our kids off TWICE since the switch and nobody has said anything. Today I asked at the front desk why my membership wasn't allowing me in and was told it's because we don't have access to kids club. Even though they very clearly had our kids info in their system and allowed us to drop them off, but apparently they said they have no record of us ever having access? And we used to drop my oldest daughter off multiple times a week prior to the transition to Elite. Their answer was that they could upgrade us to the next tier. The price? Double what we currently pay monthly. Or we could reach out to their customer support as if that's going to do anything. So apparently loyalty means absolutely nothing. My husband and I will be switching to a new gym just on the principle, at the very least if you're going to remove access it needs to be communicated with your members

I think I've been here enough times to give this place a review…read more I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new gym. I know there's a lifetime nearby too but it's so ridiculously overpriced and I don't use all the amenities to validate going there (having been a previous member). I love that wild horse is just a 6 minute drive from the house. It's usually the hardest part of going to workout - getting there, but it's so easy and there's always a parking spot open close to the door (since weather is in single digits!!) I'd say I go during odd hours since I have a hybrid work schedule. 11:30-2pm have 12+ people but it's never too crowded that I have to wait for a machine to be free (excluding today where everyone collectively decided to workout arms like me!) and 4-6p is when it gets a little busier, I bet due to people getting off work and wanting to get their workout in. Machines are clean as well as locker rooms. Towels are always available once you walk down to the floor or hit up the locker room to put your stuff away. There are cubbies where you can quickly stash your belongings as well. There are also jacket hooks in the locker room for colder seasons. The staff are all nice and friendly! The members are too! There's a wide array of machines for every muscle or variations of ones you've probably seen at other gyms. A ton of life fitness machines, free weights, cables, treadmills, ellipticals, stair masters, you name it, they've got it! Couples membership is around $130/month plus $100~ sign up fee Worth it to stay or get in the best shape of your life!
