Maximus sets the gold standard for a Crossfit gym. The classes are accommodating to everyone's schedule, the coaches are encouraging/caring, and the management team goes above and beyond to provide a high quality and consistent product. I've been going to Maximus for 2 years after moving to Lexington. Prior to Maximus, I tried two different Crossfit gyms. Maximus is far and away my favorite. The class sizes allow for a lot of one-one attention from the coaches, which allow them to help teach and ingrain proper technique. (It's like working with a personal trainer). It's the key to getting better everyday. Crossfit can feel intimidating to start out, but Maximus's atmosphere removes a lot of the initial jitters. There's a diversity of people and the atmosphere is laid back and welcoming to everyone. Positive vibes all around. read more

I've been to a handful of crossfit gyms and none compare. Maximus has the the best collection of coaches anyone could ask for. I always feel like I have a personal trainer even though I might be in a class of 30 people. The equipment and facilities excellent, there is almost always a class to attend any time I'm free and the best part is the community they create for the members. There are frequent events to attend, we have a Facebook page that I have found to be invaluable for everything from learning lifting techniques to finding recommendations for where to buy jewelry. Zone is amazing! It's like Crossfit but with more cardio. It's always as tough as you make it, but don't think this is easy. You can ask for a heart rate monitor that also tracks calories burned and I use that as a self-competition to burn more calories than last time. I've been crossfitting since November and it's been the most challenging fun I've had working out. It's tough, but so worth it. Community and vibe at Maximus is very motivating and there are lots of success stories of people seeing major changes in their health and well-being. I have been crossfitting for 3 months and I love it. I have done Insanity and had a gym membership. Crossfit is addictive and Maximus makes it even more so by having a great staff. The facility is clean, easy to get to, has ample parking and has other benefits (I.e. Massage). Dropped in when in the area for business. Entryway layout was a little confusing- you go through the locker/bathrooms to get to the workout area. Layout was very nice, room to wait for other classes to finish without being in the way. Coaches were nice, friendly. Classes were on the larger size. They had a good focus on mobility warmups while I was there. read more
