Anchor stores include Staples and Shaws grocery which are not accessible from inside the mall area. Entering the mall on the far right you will encounter a wide hall with a few benches, community bulletin boards and public restrooms. Walk to the end and turn left to enter the mall. Restrooms here need help. Ladies room door is stuck open, neither of the two stalls lock or provide privacy (gaps) and the hand dryer struggles. Definitely in need of attention for safety and privacy sake. They are clean. Entering the mall on the far left gives access to the gym and sporting goods store. Turn right to access the rest of the mall. Center entrance takes you by a long chocolatier shop displaying tasty treats for sale. Other shops inside include a book shop, Panera, science store and Paper store. It's a small area overall. Not one you'd stop in to 'walk the mall'. The shops we browsed are clean and well organized. Inside and outside shopping in this area covers a lot of your daily needs.

I had the opportunity to visit on Sunday, September 14th. Garden City Center's historic gazebo green transforms into a vibrant, open-air Farmers Market. The Farmers Market is every Sunday from May 18 through September 28 from 10 AM to 2 PM. I wandered and checked out the local vendors. There were a great variety of them. I purchased a really cute coaster from The Book Emporium RI. The Book Emporium RI sells books that are wrapped and you have a blind date with a book. I also purchased a lavender sachet from 15 Lavender Place. I spoke with the owner and she told me all of the lavender is lovingly home-grown and hand-harvested, ensuring the highest quality and care go into every product. There were soothing lavender eye pillows, relaxing neck wraps, sprays, and bundles of dried lavender. I also went to Fully Rooted to purchase two bottles of freshly pressed juices-Watermelon Slice and Golden Greens. There were also local food trucks, farm booths, and local makers. The Garden City Center Farmers Market is a market for everyone. Either if you just want to stop for coffee, get produce for the week, flowers, dog treats, see alpacas, and so much more.

There's also a store called "Pop Up Newport" that sold some great smelling lotions and soaps, as well as Panera's which was a great place to stop for a cold drink and a break from the heat. I also love that there is a separate parking lot for shoppers and if you make a purchase anywhere in the mall, you can get your parking ticket validated and get the first hour for free. Otherwise, I think it was $4 for every half hour. We were there for about an hour and a half and paid $5 for parking, which wasn't too bad, considering what other places charge and that finding meters to park at can be challenging in the middle of the busy summer season!

However, the main signage needs to be addressed on the board, as some big businesses are not named on it, for example, Papa Gino's, as I got lost finding it, along with other names. It's in a plaza right next to Mystic Aquarium- the parking lot is a nice size but can get packed in the front so go around back and there's TONS of parking. There's shopping for everyone here. From random items, to themed items, treats, snacks, food, Knick knacks, jewelry, sunglasses, home items and so much more. It gives me hippie vibes and I love that. All the employees in the shops are just so sweet- never ran into a bad one. I enjoy walking around here every single store front has something in it, it's not a dead area with random shops closed. It's pretty much always busy, but doesn't get so crowded you have anxiety. I have brought my mom here a few times and she also enjoys it. We spend half a day here and grab something to eat as well. You might want to plan to spend at least 3/4 hours here. Take it all in. The prices can be on the more pricier side for stuff- but that's location. Have fun!

Yikes...I should have paid attention to all the negative reviews…read more I went prepared though....limited my questions, was polite, and had my measurements for the amount of mulch I needed. But, I soon felt like I was in the Seinfeld soup episode "No soup for you". After the amount was calculated, I had a few more questions regarding delivery ...and was quickly met with an exhasperated "are you buying today?" from the older "gentleman" at the counter. I said I was getting all the info today and I needed to go home to check on the size of the tarp I had to hold the mulch as well as whether I wanted black or brown mulch. Then, I asked if I could call in the order and pay by cc. My intent, all along, was to purchase from Highland Farm as I live in the area and didn't want to shop farther out and did want to support a local business. I was not disputing the cost of the mulch or delivery charges he quoted me at all. When I asked if he could write down the price/delivery for both the brown and black mulch for me , that's when things went south. He refused, saying something about me just going home and not returning or some nonsense about me holding him to the price(?). He declared I'd get the price again when I called or came back. Huh? I was stunned, but remained silent and decided not to engage with this sour, unpleasant man. I simply said ok, thank you, and left. In the end I purchased the mulch elsewhere where I was treated with respect, and paid less for both the mulch and delivery. It, however,was never about the cost, but the, rude, undeserved treatment I received. Granted I didn't't go there looking to become a "friend" but, come on... Who treats customers like that? Never again... ,

The…read morevendors we encountered include two bakers (breads, pastry, foccia, etc) three sweets vendors (cookies, vegan cupcakes and kraffles) two local farms selling meat and eggs, a book and associated items seller, jewelry, soy candles, loose teas, spices, t-shirts, sweatshirts, personalized photo magnets, honey and more. Located in an unoccupied storefront there is plenty of space and it was almost full of vendors. The market was well attended during our visit around 11:30 with lines cueing up at some of the vendor tables. I did not see any produce vendors, and I suppose there is not much fresh veg growing in RI in February. Many of the vendors have socials accounts, websites and business cards. Definitely stop by and see if there is anything of interest. We found several vendors that would make good resources for gift giving in the future. The mall is doing well with most storefronts occupied. Rocky Point chowder house is to be opened in the food court. I look forward to that. Plenty of parking. Public restrooms near the food court and a nursing lounge near the middle of the mall.

Family Day Out Review…read more We had such a great day at Warwick Mall! It was energetic, fun, and the perfect place for a family outing. One of the highlights was getting my daughter's ears pierced at Claire's. The staff there were amazing--patient, kind, and made her feel totally comfortable. It was such a special moment, and they did a great job. We then got a treat from Pinkberry and Auntie Anne's both were delicious and definitely kid-approved. We ended our visit with a ride on the carousel, which my 8-year-old absolutely loved. The whole experience had great vibes, lots to do, and kept us active the entire time. Warwick Mall made our day easy, fun, and full of memories. We'll definitely be back!

Many local and regional businesses can be found here, among them Newport Creamery, Marty's Liquors, Happy Garden Chinese restaurant, Le Favorite Bakery, Mirabella's Italian restaurant, Advanced Auto Parts and a Dollar General. I have been here many times, especially to the Dollar General and the Auto parts store. Plenty of parking.

It previously existed as a two-story, enclosed shopping mall. The property opened as the Midland Mall in October 1967; for several years, it co-existed with the nearby Warwick Mall that opened in 1970. The mall was renamed the Rhode Island Mall in March 1985, and experienced rapid decline as tenants relocated to the Warwick Mall in the 1990s. It was considered a dead mall by the 2000s, and the interior of the mall was closed permanently in April 2011. The property was sold in 2012 and has been under redevelopment into its current configuration as a power center since 2016. The mall was originally anchored by Sears and Shepards. The latter eventually became G. Fox, and later Filene's, before being divided into Kohl's and Walmart. The former was converted into At Home and Raymour & Flanigan. The interior of the mall was turned into Burlington, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Planet Fitness. I usually go to this mall for the Walmart, the At Home store or the BJ's Market. I have been to Kohl's and Dick's as well. It is a fairly busy mall with several fast food and sit down restaurants in the periphery of the main retail area.
