Numerous attempts to reach Chad came with responses" A cheque is in the mail, my phone didn't work so I couldn't call or text, etc". For this reason the after service is not there. It does not take 8 days for a cheque to arrive in Winnipeg mail when I got a card from Ontario posted 2 days after Wheelers accountant emailed me finally to advise my cheque was in the mail 2 days prior to the card. Since this company owns their own crematory and cemetery, they can accommodate specific requests including witnessed cremation, green burial, or traditional funeral and burial. If you choose to use their cemetery it is on a peaceful, beautiful and rustic property just outside of the city that features a pond, lovely trees, birds and wildlife. The home is very light and welcoming. This review is a little late as my brother died in 2015 but I still have been in contact with Glenlawn trying to secure the spot beside my brother for my mother The people who work at Glen Lawn memorial have magnificent manners and treat every person no matter how distressed they are with comfort and sincere care. I'm glad that we made the arrangements with this Memorial service The space is wonderful they even have overflow seating & catering. They really take a load off of an unplanned death as they are highly efficient professionals. Looking back at that really hard time Glen Lawn went above and beyond. I know my mother goes and visits the plot to wash my brother stone and have a picnic on it and probably a good cry. She really enjoy spending time in the cemetery as it is landscape like a park and my brother is buried beside a pond with ducks in it. Rest in peace Garry!! He tried to play my family against each other. He straight out lied telling me that we didn't have a choice but to use their services. When I begged to differ and informed him we WOULD be using another service he accused me of trying to "skate out of the bill"... He asked me, a grieving family member if I had any idea what HE had done for our family by picking up the body. He tried to tell me they were the ONLY ones who serviced the Roosevelt area and noone would be picking up the body from so far away. He apologized I was so ignorant of cremation services available and how they worked... He demanded to know where I was from and if I even knew where the place I was working with was from. And ended with in his 25 years experience he had never had any family talk to HIM so rudely!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????????? AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!! At the end of this conversation I would have paid DOUBLE for ANYONE ELSE to have handled my loved one!!!!! I strongly recommend Heritage Cremation Services if you are in their area and need services. They are 1/3 less expensive even if they have to drive 100 miles to get them and they aren't RUDE!!! All family members that have had to use their services have nothing negative to say. Both my parents have also purchased and choose Glen Eden as their resting place. Located just outside the city. The grounds are well kept. I often come and visit my families that have passed when I come into town. This pass weekend, my family had a service and funeral here. The staff here are very accommodating and friendly. Depending on package purchased they pretty much do everything, from obituary, limo services for families, helping with funeral services. My families often bring enormous amount of food to feed its guest and they're very understanding. They have a large reception area including a patio for warmer weather. I large room for funeral service and viewing. Losing a loved one is never easy but its a great comfort to know when times like this hit you can depend on a place like this.

We lost a member of our family quite suddenly during the height of Covid. This funeral home came…read morehighly recommended to us through a friend who supposedly had a connection there, but we were hardly treated like friends. From the beginning, the funeral home showed no sensitivity to our situation, but called the deceased's closest family member multiple times the day after his mother had passed. The man who phoned kept saying, "I know this is a difficult time, but..." and proceeded to go on and on about himself, including why he got into the funeral business. He even called me repeatedly after the other family member couldn't deal with it any longer. Since this was the height of Covid, money was tight--our pay had been cut, and we'd assumed our family member's husband would pay for Bardal's services. He didn't, so the funeral home agreed to a payment plan, and promised not to put any undue stress on us, because they "understood the situation." They must have a different idea of what that means than I do, because right after we made the first payment--on time--we were threatened with a collection agency! Oh, and we were told there would be "some interest," but the fellow who was so keen to tell us about his career path couldn't tell us what the interest was. I didn't realize the amount of interest wasn't known up front, or I would have urged the family never to agree to this arrangement. Well, they charged the family loan shark rates--40%!--and then tried to say it wasn't 40% when we complained. (I don't know how they do their math, but $40 charged on a $100 payment is, indeed, 40%.) This was such a terrible way to treat a grieving family. Don't agree to a payment plan if you're going to threaten a family with a collection agency immediately after they do what you've agreed to, and if you're going to charge 40% interest, at least have the decency to let people know up front, rather than say you "don't know."

By the time they got done with additional charges picking up the body basic casket for cremation etc etc the costs were in excess of 5000.00. Simple cremation with no services obituary etc. Unfortnetly my wife just passed away and the exact same service was provided by Voyage funeral home for 1600.00. How these people can sleep at night knowing they are gouging people in a time they are in grief and most vunetable is unbelievable.
