A great time to visit is during the Plein Art Festival in July. The school sponsors this event which attracts artists from all over the country. So fun to watch them work their magic! The instructors are great - all are accomplished artists in their own right and many teach at the college level - but to the person they have been friendly, helpful and oh-so-kind in their critiques. I guess it's Door County rubbing off - but the fellow students have been great, too. Friendly and open. By the first afternoon, the jitters go away and everyone starts talking and helping out - from offering gentle suggestions to sharing supplies. Hands down the best experience I have had in taking art classes- and I keep coming back for more!
