The big difference is that we were far more involved in every step of the process and we got to design our own pieces - the type (cup, vase, ornament, paperweight, etc.), the overall shape (short/tall/wide/flared) and the colors. I had read it in high school and enjoyed it then. We came back and bought tickets that night for the show as soon as the box office opened (at six, I believe, and the show was at 7:30, doors opened at seven.) This theatre has PROFESSIONAL ACTORS. And you could tell a huge difference from our little community theatre performances we like to attend back in Iowa. Hands down. 100%. Gold stars. Would recommend spending a night at the theatre while you are on your trip in Door County. Support the arts! See a show!

As Shakespeare's Globe proved long ago, a bare stage, a handful of props, and a few costumes are all that's required to set the imagination soaring in the hands of gifted professionals. Even so, it required a good deal of ingenuity to fit a show like this for a small cast and a tiny stage, and I admired the inventive staging almost as much as the individual performances.

When we arrived in the beautiful outdoor theater in Peninsula Park the crew was hard at work drying the stage and uncovering set pieces after the rain. The audience was close to a sell out. We had 2nd row middle seats. We were given a seat.cushion and handed towels to dry our seats. The show started and within 10 minutes it started to rain . The show went on and the audience stayed huddled under hoodies , rain suits, and blankets. No one left because the show had already sucked them in to the story corny jokes and all. Don't miss the shows this season!

Alas, I just got to visit this place and take a little tour. Apparently, Lawrence University students can retreat here when they want, which is fortunate for them. This is a sanctuary where people can find quiet and contemplation. The general public can also sign up to take classes and seminars, and spend the weekend at Bjorklunden in what they call a "thought-provoking vacation." Located on the grounds of Bjorklunden is Boyton Chapel, a small wooden structure built in a late 12th-century Norwegian style. If you get a chance to peek inside, you should -- it's beautiful, with biblical paintings on every wall and hand-carved wooden pews. When I visited, it was snowing and everything looked white and beautiful. I imagine the area is equally as beautiful when everything is green, but there's something about being here when things are cold and sparkling that make it extra special.

Coming back to get married in this place that was special to both of us made our day that much better. The view and overall decor of the grounds and lodge was idyllic. We loved having complete access to the facility and our guests enjoyed having accomodations right at the site.
