Yesterday was my grandmother's funeral. But it didn't feel like a funeral. It felt like a church…read moresermon. A service. Not a celebration of life as they said it was. They only originally allowed 2 immediate family members to speak about my grandmother. And my family fought for 4. But her grandchildren and any other family members who didn't speak were subjected to the karaoke mic in the Cafe AFTER the service which not one person used. I couldn't speak on my grandmother's funeral because they needed to have a sermon to fulfill their agenda of speaking on whether a boy should be a boy or a girl should be a girl going as far as bringing chromosomes into the mix. I couldn't speak at my grandmother's funeral because they needed to pump 1 more worship song into the mix to meet a quota I'm assuming. The 2 pastors spoke more about the "word of God" than my actual gramma. Some said this is what she would have wanted but no it wasn't. She was a godly woman yes but she was a Family Woman and would have wanted everyone to get together and speak and tell stories. I have been to many funerals. I was even able to speak at my coworkers funeral. But I couldn't speak at my grandmother's. Absolutely the worst funeral I've ever been too as it was hijacked and used by the church instead of sending her off or giving the family the closure we needed. You can't fix this. There isn't a "redo" button. My grammas gone. An absolute travesty of a service for a woman who deserved the world. A woman who made towels for all of my swimmates in highschool with their names on it, but no one will know. The same woman who joined me on many business adventures like buying a cutco set from me or joining me when I joined Primerica for a short time. A woman who made me shirts for my reptile business to support me. The woman who gave me my green thumb. But no one will know. Because I didn't get to speak at my grammas funeral.

I was immediately greeted and shown which way to go for services. After sitting down Ms. Marilyn came over and introduced herself to me. She is a beautiful, kind woman with a heart of gold. It shines through. I have not been greeted by members like this in I think...... EVER. The worship service was really good. I love that they offer you to fall on your knees if you wish to worship in that manner. Sometimes, I just want to drop and cry out to God. I love they don't think it is strange. There are only about 60 chairs total here, which could be too small for some, I can't wait to come back and actually get to know my neighbor. I pray that this review will bring many to the Lord. After service, I asked permission to ask a question to the pastor and he actually took time to chat... usually that does not happen either. Thanks to all who made me feel welcome and may God's word be the only thing preached here.

The Sisters that taught us were the Sisters of Reparation and they and the parishioners there were some of the most Godly people I have ever met. Which directed us to the section where it says find a church, at that time we had stopped going to church for a few years. We ended up searching and the first search was a 619 area code, which we both knew was to far, for we live in Riverside. So we decided to search again the second time, we came across a 951 area code, which we both look at each other and said lets look further into this Church, for it stood out to us. We ended up on the website and started reading scriptures, each scriptures were speaking to us both. So my husband and I decided that, the coming Sunday we will be attending this church. Not searching up who the pastor was or anything, but we went by what the scriptures said, we felt something that we both never felt before. A connection like no other, to be honest its an amazing feeling, that I cannot even put into words. We ended up going that Sunday to just hear the word, and go on with our daily lives, but when we arrived there, it was so welcoming that even my husband and teen boys agreed. We sat in the front row not knowing who is who, and someone came and approached us, greeting us, welcoming us. At the moment he was on the stage busy with things but, he took his time and stopped what he was doing and walked down and greeted us. We thought that was so sweet of him, he didn't have to for he was busy at the moment. Come to find out it was the pastor of New Creation Church, Pastor Joe. From that moment we knew this was our new home, from finding the website, to reading the scriptures, we knew God placed us there for a reason and we are so thankful! We have learned so much through the word of God, that is taught on Thursday nights and also Sunday mornings, my sons attend the youth ministry with Pastor Christian, and they enjoy and learn so much through both Pastors. My husband and I both have enjoyed each and every time we are there, we go in blessed and leave even more blessed each and every time. Finally we found our church home that you come just as you are! Pastor Joe is amazing and truly a blessing to this world from God, thank you Pastor Joe for all you do for Gods kingdom!!!

When I had…read moreto move to Sun City, I started attending my mother's church with her and literally begin feeling dry and dead inside. The music was horrible and monotone the sermons were dry and monotone... I was the youngest person there and I am in my fifties! It was so opposite of what I was used to, I could not even stay awake for the entire hour of church. I told my mom I would have to find a new church to go to, that I could no longer attend hers. She informed me that she heard pastor Joe started a new church in our area, and I was immediately intrested. I grew up listening to his music at Harvest And knew I needed to check out his new church. My mom and her husband decided to go with me to check it out and we never looked back. It was like coming home. I love this church, it's like having a second family to hang out with. Pastors Joe and Jackie are loving people that really care about their flock. The music is amazing, the messages are amazing, And the people amazing. Love the friendliness and diversity of the church. I finally look forward to going to church and Bible studies again!
