Do not sign up your loved ones for this place. Do not encourage anyone to apply to work here. I cannot stress this enough. They prioritize billing over patient care and hiring adequate staff. Patients have been left for hours with no nursing visits nor even phone call. Nurses and STNAs are overworked and spread far too thin. Management is increasingly​ inadequate evidenced by a surprising lack of compassion and concern. Training for multiple roles does not prepare staff for the tasks they are hired for. It is a toxic work environment lacking space for constructive criticism, ideas for improvement ​are thrown to the wayside. read more

Family was left waiting over 3 hours to discuss hospice care. Representative called only after being an hour late. Rescheduled for another hour later, then called again to reschedule. The lack of compassion is ridiculous. Their lack of professionalism is astonishing. Run, don't walk to another provider! Your loved one deserves better! read more

Best. Hospice. Ever. Who has a favorite hospice, right? This girl! I work as the legal guardian to a caseload of severely mentally ill adults. Most of my clients reside in a nursing home so I frequently need to utilize hospice services. Their Gift of a Day program is great for their clients to give them something to focus on and look forward to. Additionally, their bedside sitters when someone is actively dying is absolutely wonderful. Frequently my clients spend their whole lives alone so it's comforting to know they're not alone when they pass. I highly recommend them and they're typically the only hospice that I use for my clients. Recently I even had to utilize them for my step grandfather before his passing as well. Give them a call and I'm sure they'll impress you too! read more

Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience with them for our mother. The transition from the hospital to her home was difficult. From having to switch the bed and medical equipment due to their error of what county we live in, constant miscommunication, and the nurses having way too many patient visits in a day. For the most part, the nurses were good but some were not compassionate. Most of the time they did not have the correct supplies. Furthermore, they brought way too many medications with minimal guidance for her use. For this short period of our mother's life, we felt more stressed than comforted. Crossroads Hospice was there when my beloved mother, and my family needed compassion, support and help with her care. They came quickly to assess her needs and started the next day. Every person that was part of the process were awesome; so understanding, caring and put my mothers needs and dignity as a priority. I was forced to give one star to write this review unfortunately.Look elsewhere for care of your loved one.They claim they are available 24/7 but when you call they ask a million questions-whomever they have answering the phone-and say they will page a nurse who will be there in 10 minutes.No they were not ever there in 10 minutes...a two hour window is what you get.ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.I could go on and on but I will just let it go and tell you NOT to put your loved one in their care.LOOK ELSEWHERE PLEASE!!! read more

Crossroads took care of my mother in a very difficult and emotional situation where she had to be taken off of a ventilator. They were there immediately when needed at a hospital where my mother was and they took care of everything so professionally and competently with the utmost compassion. Do not use them. Your loved one deserves better care. Unorganized and short on simple supplies, every time. No "Comfort" to my family member or us at all. Nurses show up n no apparent schedule, late evening, without supplies saying "i have to get in x amout of visits per day, so here i am. Our experience just added stress. Having been a hospice volunteer for many years for another organization, I must say that Crossroads employees from phone to home service is top notch. By accident Crossroads took care of my mother at the end of her life with such compassion, dignity, & respect that there was no question that these angels in disguise would be there to help me address my sister's end of life issues with multiple myeloma. There was never a limit to what they wouldn't do for me or my sister, Susan. Crossroads people put the patient first & meet the needs of the caregiver & family. I have recommended Crossroads to countless others; there's just no other way to go. Crossroads Hospice has become a charity I will contribute to regularly. I could not have experienced a worse engagement with Crossroads Hospice, and I write this review to forewarn any of you considering a Hospice partner: please do your homework, meet more than one Hospice provider, meet them face-to-face, grill them hard, and weigh the following: Are they good Communicators, with clear lines of communication that are both committed to and immediately evident. Crossroads provided far too many points of communication which were frequently in conflict with each other, from multiple nurses to social workers to sadly, even their Chaplain. We were promised a single point of communication and never got one, or even the hint of one. Worst of all, they communicated quite poorly with Kendall at Oberlin staff (who are stellar), especially on their prescribed meds course for pain relief, resulting in a direct conflict between Kendall's primary physican and Crossroads' primary physician. Crossroads placed my family in the middle of this conflict and made their conflict our problem. Are they well organized? Crossroads was poorly organized from the start, promising to put my terminally-ill Dad on 8-hour check-ins. These check-ins were not every 8 hours, but instead spread across all hours throughout our 5-day engagement. We were never given any notice of when they were coming, so we often missed them and the opportunity to have direct dialogue with them. Every check-in was attended by a different nurse who had no idea who the "single point of contact" was that we were promised. They struggled to offer clarification on the growing disconnect between their terminal care plan for my Dad and that of Kendall (causing genuine stress for the Kendall staff.) It appeared that each new nurse who attended my Dad had to start from scratch, disturbing my Dad with questions like "Does your tummy hurt?" when all they had to do was check his chart for symptoms or talk to an attending Kendall nurse. Are they truly "comfort givers?" Arriving at the decision to engage Hospice is very, very hard, but I think my family did it for an explicit reason: we wanted to provide my Dad comfort in his final days. Sure, we were hopeful that his comfort in some ways would provide us some comfort. What Crossroads delivered instead was anything but comfort. First & foremost, on Crossroads watch my Dad found no apparent relief, and was in fact made highly uncomfortable by their insistence that he be on Morphine as a pain killer, a drug that was noted in his Kendall chart to cause him anxiety and even hallucinations. They would not relent on this Morphine regimen (mind you, at the insistence of Kendall's primary physiciam) because bluntly, they would not get re-imbursed for Medicare using an alternative pain-killer. This is the most egregious kind of money-motivated medicine, and it sickens me that we invited these people into the circle of my Dad's care. For us, his family, the distress that Crossroads caused us, from loud, abrasive & "punked-out" nurses, to their man-handling of my Dad's frail body, made us sick. Not once did they notice our discomfort or make any moves to remedy it., even though their Chaplain was made aware of the situation directly by me. Again, if you are in that awful situation of having to consider a Hospice partner in the first place, my sincere hope is that our terrible experience with Crossroads can serve as a cautionary tale. read more

Crossroads Hospice is amazing and I don't know what we would do without them. My loved one is non-mobile, cannot speak for herself, and most times, non-responsive. She has been this way for a long time and it has been so difficult worrying about her being in a nursing home and wondering what care she is getting when I am not there. Crossroads has been involved for about four years now and they are incredible. I trust them completely. They are so caring and competent. Everyone we have ever worked with is kind, caring, respectful of my loved one, and I feel at peace knowing they are watching over her. They respond at all times of the day/night if anything happens or if I have any questions or concerns. I completely trust the nurses with every aspect of her care and would NEVER allow the nursing home to do anything to my sister without discussing it with Crossroads Hospice first. I trust and have confidence with them above all else. Miranda is our case manager and I am so thankful every single day that she has come into our lives. She is absolutely amazing at what she does. I trust her with my sister's care 100% as I do with anyone from Crossroads that we have ever worked with! Kara, Theresa, they are all outstanding! I can't name everyone because they are all incredible and kind people. Miranda knows my loved one so well that I have complete trust in anything she recommends. Our crossroads team always comes to our care plan meetings every three months and I look at them as the most important part of the team. The nurses, aides, social workers, all of them are amazing and I can call them for anything. If you ever need hospice, I highly recommend Crossroads. I am forever in their debt for what they have done and continue to do for us. read more
