New patients should be given Emergancy priority. They need immediate help. He was referred to this practice by another doctor who could not see him because he was not a drug user. When I called this morning to let the office know he would not be at his appointment because he died the assistant was rude, snippy and said I'll make that note. No sorry for your loss.

I've been very pleased with the care I've gotten from Dr. Menninger, especially in managing my medication. He was extremely helpful and concerned when I developed tardive dyskinesia (TD) from Abilify, which had been prescribed by my former doctor. It turned out I had been taking it at a high dose for quite a long time, and Dr. Menninger thought I should discontinue it. When I did, the TD symptoms showed up (involuntary mouth and facial movements that were obvious and annoying). He's been very good about working with me and my neurologist in coordinating care as I've been treated for the TD symptoms. Dr. Menninger is cautious and conservative when it comes to medication, which I very much appreciate after my experience with Abilify. I see him regularly, although only every few months, to check in on how things are going with my medications. These are short appointments and somehow there's no co-payment for them with my medical plan, so I certainly like that! During appointments Dr. Menninger takes his notes on his computer as he goes along. It seemed odd, at first, as I wasn't used to that, but now I don't notice it, and being "connected" Dr. Menninger can rapidly find and print out studies and articles on various issues for you while you're sitting in his office, which is very handy. All in all, definitely recommended!

I was dealing with severe stress and anxiety from a number of things. I was in dire need of some help and encouragement. After the counseling session was over, I literally remember thinking that I wanted to die. She not only maximized my fear but almost made me think there was something terribly wrong with my relationship. I was so vulnerable at the time that I was eating up anything anyone would tell me. She honestly almost destroyed my relationship. She compared my situation with some of her past experiences and also talked negatively about my husband's job. Her words still haunt me to this day and it's 7 months after the fact. I'm so glad I didn't listen to her at the time because now I am happily married to my best friend. Oh and I also forgot to mention how I was falling apart, full out sobbing in front of her and she had a poker face the whole time. This all sounds dramatic but I am being completely honest about everything I experienced. There was nothing secure about Secure Counseling Clinic. Word of advice: be careful who you receive counseling from. You wouldn't believe the power of suggestion!!

Hello there, staff of Midwest Recover Centers! I am delighted to discover this venue through which…read moreone may share, with others, thier experience with MRC. I must say that, upon my first experience and at first blush, MRC was a breath of fresh air. I relished the fresh approach they exhibited toward me, as a newbie! The staff: Joe - therapist that one dreams of getting in such a facility; Casey (sp?) - just a ray of sunshine pouring over you everyday; there are so many staff members, I simply can't name them all. Then there is: Kristin - I would be equally served by an AI kiosk. Just no visable concern or compassion for me...or anything, as she rattled away on her keyboard, "so, what number would you give that feeling...? one to ten..." type, type, type..... okay, thank you. See you when I see you. Wading through the days, I began to feel the repetiveness of "following policy" weighing down some of the more zealous staff members. Those with a truly compassionate eye toward the patients and their well-being. So, let me cut to the chase here. I set up my FMLA and Short-Term disability with MRC, amazingly, while I was drinking nearly a fifth of vodka and snorting nearly a gram of cocaine, everyday. As such, you might think that the timing was perfect for discussions of policy and procedures. Anyhow, the long and the short of it is that they completely contradict themseleves between what their website says and what they actually practive. When you're dealing with people in any state like the one I was in when I got there, the last thing we need is contradictions in regard to our treatment. Unfortunately, I was already admitted before I was informed that they also do not communicate with any outside medical professionals. Think about that...have you EVER heard of health professionals refusing to tallk to the medical team you have when you get there. It's bewildering. I just say, go over all of the details, If you're able, and clarify everything before you sign on the line which is dotted. Thanks so much!

Awesome staff, great clinical program, and a comfortable and secure environments for addicts new or returning to recovery.
