For my fellow SoCal folks -- this is NOT a Los Angeles hike. You can tell where the trail is, but wear some hiking shoes (was a little muddy) and.BRING SO MUCH BUG SPRAY. I REPEAT, bring/wear/lather. alllllll. the. bug. spray. Some of the trail has a raised wooden planks, but other parts are just dirt (but still easy to see the path) & through some grassy terrain. So...wear pants! It was so lush and beautiful, but it got warm rather quickly! I didn't see any wildlife though - just lots of bugs! But I'd imagine that this place is teeming with wildlife when there isn't a human making lots of noise /flailing around to avoid the flying bugs! Ha.

Depending on weather and time of year areas of the main trail can range from dry to flooded or require use of mosquito repellent... Nature, enjoy it. The main trail heading East connects to the ITC trail, before Lilley Rd., that heads North and to the I-275 bike/hide trail past Haggerty Rd. Eventually the main trail is supposed to be extended past the I-275 trail intersect to Hannan Rd.

Please no I did not notice any restrooms available there were a few benches scattered through at least the half of the trail that I went to. I feel in the summer that this place's vegetation will be so full and that's being said make sure you bring some bug spray because it was the end of November probably the last 50° weather and I still saw some bugs. Also it's definitely a great place for biking seem like they have a few side dirt roads that you probably could take but at the same time it's gravel for easy walking. In the trail was very clean and there were trash bins/doggy bags available - maybe it should just a cold months but that's normally all used up or gone so I'm happy with this location. Since I only did half I would like to try the other half which at the parking lot you can tell that seem to be the center point of the whole trail. Happy hiking!!!

What a great find. The Bridges of Canton might be better name as you cross several of them over…read morethe canal. It is only four miles from end to end. Heritage Park on one and a leo's Coney off Michigan on the other. Well shaded and it felt ten degrees cooler. You need a hybrid or mountain bike if cycling. It is packed gravel and had some loose spots. Plenty of resting spots. Not very crowded. GPS took me to the middle of the trail. There are a few offshots, ITC and Sycamore loop.

Right by I-75 but still wooded and the comfort of being outside. Clean bathrooms, with diaper changing table. No swimming or fishing allowed. It doesn't offer as much as other nature centers but if you know what you're getting into, it's still nice. I'm looking forward to renting the cabins in the fall.

I wanted to try a new place for hiking around me one day because I felt like I had been everywhere…read morenearby when I found Hawk Woods! It feels so close to the highway, yet also completely secluded from it as well. There was only one part of the hike where I felt like I could hear the highway sounds, but otherwise, it felt like a cool little sojourn into nature. The overall size of the park is very small, I believe the outer loop was about one mile MAX, so definitely a very quick, very easy hike you can do! You can honestly do the loop a few times if you so please as well. Very little elevation gain, perfect for all skill-levels, some variance in scenery as you go about the hike, dog-friendly, and filled with little nature, educational signs throughout. A delight and a perfect way to do a quick little getaway into nature!

Peaceful, Beautiful, and Always Worth the Walk…read more Sheldon Marsh is one of those places that just hits every time, no matter the season. The paved trail makes it super easy for anyone to enjoy--perfect for a peaceful walk, birdwatching, or just soaking in some fresh air. It's quiet, full of wildlife, and there's always something new to catch your eye. One of my favorite parts is when the path opens up to the beach. You get this wide view of Lake Erie, and if you look out far enough, you'll spot the Cedar Point coasters in the distance. It's a cool little reminder of home--nature in front of you, thrill rides in the background. If you're up for a bit of a longer walk, you can follow the beach all the way down to the Point Retreat condos and back. It's a beautiful stretch along the water and gives you even more time to enjoy the lake breeze. And if you're a golf fan, the newly updated Sawmill Creek Golf Course runs right alongside the preserve. You might catch a few swings and even spot a bird or two between shots. Whether I'm home with family or just need a place to reset, Sheldon Marsh is always worth the visit. One of the best spots in Ohio, hands down.

This was a cool playground setup. It had some of the typical things like monkey bars, but lacked a…read morebunch of the other stuff. Instead it was a labyrinth of climbing and going in and out of wooden towers. It was difficult to follow along as I'm 6'2, 200. I barely fit in some of the spaces. But the kids had fun and had no issue at full speed. There is also a splash pad about 100ft away. It's not very fancy, but in combo with the playground and I'd say it's a pretty decent way to spend an afternoon. The library is next door too..
