In my two stops that day, I dealt with 2 different staff members and I have to say, AMAZING! We HAD to stop in here! The young lady at the front told us of their current special, B3G1. We couldn't pass up that deal. I was fan-girling a little too much to take pictures, lol. They had great comics, figurines and etc on sale. I just hate that I've never been able to find a Wonder Woman comic storage box yet. But of course a bought a comic and some wearable pins (They make the pins out of resourced comic books!! How neat is that?!!) We'll be back!

The books inside are individually priced, while the books outside are discounted to 10 or 25 cents based on which side it is on. I could have spent hours there. After selecting way too many books, I took them up to the counter to check out. As the friendly employee rang up the books, we chatted about D&D. They have a selection of games to try out and plenty of sitting space for you and your friends to test out and have a good time. They offer a wide variety of singles on their website. By buying them and picking it up in store, you save on shipping, giving them the selection of an online retailer with lower costs. Their prices are most comparable to TCGPlayer, minus delivery fees. Atomic Empire also carries a limited selection of comics and graphic novels, a nice to have for sure. They also sell plenty of gaming accessories from dice to paint to playmates to deck boxes. Unlike many game stores I've been to, Atomic Empire is pristine. High ceilings and proper ventilation provides constant fresh air. Bright lights and clean floors provides a welcoming atmosphere. It's a pleasure to take your time and browse a store that's so well maintained. Atomic Empire is excellent to game in or simply hang out at.

We spent a good hour or so in here and -- absolutely loved it. I didn't catch the associates name but he was an absolute gem. We bought some awesome, amazing merch from the store plus some comics my girlfriend has been wanting for years. He answered all of our questions (we felt bad because we had so many!!!), and was super super appreciative of our business. We live over an hour away but I'll tell ya... I'll come back here for our comic needs for sure. I'll drive the 2-hours round trip. This guy made us feel at home and we loved the shop! So much to see, read and buy! I attended more for the people watching than the comics (which is not to say I'm not a nerd... I…read morejust really don't know much about comics outside of X-Men). There was quite a lengthy line to get in (so buy your tix in advance), and I thought the $10 ticket price high for what's on offer (one room halved into comics and illustrators, with occasional lectures scheduled). That said, there seemed to be everything from affordable 50-cent books on up to autographed limited edition prints of The Avengers. And from the artists, you could purchase finished work or commission illustrations of your-superhero-self or ideas. Affordably, too! I know this is put on by a small local comic book store, but there's definitely room to grow and improve... the costume contest was heavily delayed beyond the posted times, and had no clear direction (when to line up, where to line up), plus no real opportunity for spectators to photograph (other than the group photo, which frankly, had so many people, it was hard to even tell what you're looking at). More programming. And maybe more diversity of attractions. Are figurines and special effects prosthetics not part of the whole comics experience?
