A bit of background - this review is based on 8 years spent finding a GOOD vet for my GSD Service…read moredog who was finally diagnosed with Lupus and Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency after FIVE other vets failed him, so I have some experience with truly GOOD vets, vets who just want my money, bad vets, and everything between. I didn't love my first experience with this clinic, but I don't judge on first impressions. A second visit resulted in no diagnosis but basically a 'throw-spaghetti-at-the-wall' approach, and a running stream of condescending comments (and I found the solution myself). I have 2 pets that saw them, and they got their immunizations mixed up, so even now I don't know if they gave the right ones to the right animals; when I questioned it, more condescension. Called to book a spay after my female went into heat. Brought my female in for spay, (5 & a half months old) and was told it was impossible for her to have gone into heat. If anyone's ever seen a cat go into heat, it's impossible to miss. At any rate, after being berated for not knowing that cats 'don't go into heat before 6 months of age and never at this time of year,' surgery went well, sent home w/o pain meds, but seemed to be on the mend, sleeping almost constantly. 2 days later threw up and stopped eating. It was a weekend so took her to an urgent care clinic. She got fluids, anti-nauseant shot, and appetite stimulant. Called Crossing Bridge next day. Was told she needed to be admitted for four days of care, that she must have eaten non-food item. Explained that she'd had fluids last night, had been sleeping constantly, and there wasn't anything in my room for her to get into. Was then told I could syringe feed her (as the vet the previous night had said) and if she was no better the next day, she'd need to be admitted, and if I didn't admit her, she was going to take my cat. I don't know if she thought I was young and naive (people mistake me for a teenager even tho I'm 47) but I was shocked by this very forward, flippant comment. Final straw. I'm not an outspoken individual, and am only posting a review because of my concern with a vet that's this condescending and berating; my experiences with a dog that literally cost me tens of thousands of dollars in surgeries and vet visits have taught me to question when things don't sound right - I don't mind spending money on my animals when it's essential, but we weren't at the point of admission yet. With the urgent care clinic also questioning several of the things Crossing Bridge did/did not do, and the threat to 'take my cat from me,' I became concerned about this clinic. A less informed individual could spend a small fortune with the throw-spaghetti-at-the-wall approach; I need a vet that listens to the whole story, and tells me the whole story, and one who takes a more systematic approach to diagnosis and treatment. I'm sad to have to post this review. Oh, and we just came back from a second visit to their new vet (the urgent care cinic) where an x-ray revealed that she was just badly constipated. *next morning update - all better - she had a long night in the cat litter, but she's eating again and back to her normal happy self!

I brought my Chow, Mei-Ling (baby) there since she was 8 months old. She had some medical problem threw her life which expertly looked after by everyone at this Clinic. When Baby (my best friend) had a stroke in September 2015 they were very compassionate and didn't rush my decision. I receive a hand written sympathy card with everyone's comments which really helped my grieving my best friends passing. If I decide to get another dog (best friend) I'll be bringing her to The Crossing Bridge Veterinary Clinic!!

They were able to slot us in for 5pm on a Sunday! I mean... really?! That was just amazing all by itself. But it only got better from there. They were able to screen us 15min early when we arrived, and then we only waited 20min after our appointment time to actually be taken in. Usually at these places there's a much longer wait. The reception staff were wonderfully courteous, professional, responsive and caring. They were busy, and with extenuating pandemic measures in place -- creating its own challenges, yet they all still found the time to not only see us but to wear a smile. A truly exceptional team. The vet, Dr Amand, was also a real pleasure to speak with. He explained everything thoroughly and knowledgeably. He was receptive to our desire to have multiple tests performed so as to narrow down any potential diagnosis, but never 'pushed' for it. You could easily tell he was empathetic to the notion that maybe some clients just wouldn't be able to afford the fees and as a result might feel emotionally pressured to try and find such precious funds from somewhere. We have pet ins so we wanted all the tests done, and while he agreed that the more tests there are, the better it is, he still did not insist upon it. There was one small minor issue we had regarding a product purchase with which Jocelyn was able to offer total resolution to our 100% satisfaction. We didn't end up following through with her offer, as we decided to donate the product instead, however just knowing it was feasible was something we appreciated. All in all it was a remarkably comfortable experience. We do, indeed, recommend this practice to anyone seeking their services. From arrival to departure, it was a total of 2 hours and 45 minutes. Well done! And may I just say, once again to their team, thank you so much. We really do appreciate your help that evening.

They genuinely care about my dog and about the care that they are able to give him. Follow up calls and check ins occur very regularly; I have never had a vet's office call me to check how my dog is doing! Monday, I made the very difficult decision to have my senior cat euthanized. One of the hardest decisions of my life was made so much gentler with the help of the staff. My oldest son and I were able to stay with our cat for the entire time. The staff was compassionate and explained every step of the way. Our family was able to say good-bye feeling supported, comforted and understood.

Found a tick on my dog and panicked as I could not find our tick key. The 3 vet techs and receptionist said they could not help me, gave me a tick key, pointed me to a bathroom and told to follow instructions. I was told to flush it when done, that nobody does testing on ticks anymore. My dog did not get any free cookies but ‍ I phoned another clinic and said I was a patient at another clinic and asked for information on ticks and treatments. I was told that I should get her tested after 6 weeks to be sure she does not have Lyme or any other diseases from it, as proteins would be present at that time. I am completely furious at the lack of service, compassion and out right not caring about my pet. I am searching for a new vet ( taking suggestions) however Greenbank animal hospital will NOT be getting anymore of my business as they OBVIOUSLY do not care about the health of their patience!!!

We are not clients of this clinic but they were gracious enough to give us an urgent appointment last April for our cat Felix "fefe" who was clearly at the end of his life. He was very old and had stopped eating over the course of several days so we knew it was time. Our regular vet was on holiday but the BHVC was able to take us in right away when we explained the situation. It was a heartbreaking ordeal and was made even more stressful by the fact that we were unfamiliar with the BHVC, but the staff at the reception desk and our vet tech Julisa greeted us with kindness and compassion. Julisa in particular was absolutely amazing! I was total reck, but she was kind, understanding and supported us every step of the way. I was even more touched, when a month after fefe's passing we received a beautiful condolence card signed by all of the staff. I believe this veterinary clinic is no longer living up to its former reputation. The name 'Liston'…read moreshould be removed, as it no longer honors Dr. Liston, who once owned and ran the clinic with genuine care. The friendly, small, 'Mom and Pop' feel has been replaced by a business model similar to VCA Vets, where profit takes precedence over pet care. Upselling has become their primary focus. Last fall, they were incredibly supportive (thank you, Dr. Savannah) when I had to make the difficult decision to put my cat down. However, their approach has drastically changed since then. The receptionist now has a poor attitude, and the clinic's relentless upselling seems to be driven by management. When I sought quotes for bloodwork for my kitten with FIP, they insisted on adding unnecessary X-rays and wanted to charge for a re-exam every time I brought him in for bloodwork, which is entirely unnecessary. His bloodwork results alone are sufficient to assess his health. After pointing out the unnecessary X-rays, they removed them from the quotes. However, after I had already brought my kitten to them for a normal exam to establish a VCPR, they insisted on doing a re-exam each time, claiming the FIP study group was requesting these re-exams. When I asked the study group, they naturally said no. This was clearly the clinic's decision. I contacted the vet to express my dissatisfaction with these unnecessary charges, but it took an entire three weeks to receive a reply. The vet claimed that not performing a re-exam each time would risk sanctions on her veterinary license. Skeptical of this claim, I consulted my new vet, who reassured me this wasn't true. Unfortunately, after pointing out these concerns, I was once again met with silence. This behavior only confirms my suspicion that they were more interested in extracting money from me than in my pet's well-being. Given the substantial costs involved in treating FIP, their actions are particularly upsetting. Vets like this contribute to a growing distrust among pet owners, making them hesitant to bring their pets in for regular exams. It's disheartening that a place that should be about caring for our pets has turned into a profit-driven operation. Consequently, I've decided to leave this clinic and seek care for my pets elsewhere in hopes of finding a place that prioritizes their health over profits

My experience with Liston Animal Hospital has only been that of one of excellence . Over the last…read more17 years, I have had 3 wonderful dogs under the high quality care of Dr Liston and recently, Dr Beattie. Dr Liston did create a unique model of compassionate and affordable care and that model has been maintained with the new ownership. I have experienced the full scope from puppy stage to rescue dog to end of life. I would suggest that other clinics could learn well from this one, including the human type. Highly recommend .
