Stayed here twice on our trip to Alaska. Check in was very quickly and we got to our room fast after a long day of travel. Room was very nice and furnished well. We had both a microwave and a small fridge. They also had a kuerig coffee maker with coffee pods. The bed was comfortable and the shower had plenty of towels for two people. The hotel also had a bar and a good restaurant that we ate breakfast. read more

It's been about a decade from my last stay. According to my booking site they had updated, but this was not the case. My room smelled like an old hotel. I can get over that but by day 3 my clothes smelled like my room. This was noticeable by others. When the HVAC kicked on it sounded like someone kicking a garbage can. The water temp in the shower was the worst part. Scolding hot to ice cold... over ... and over again. Literally burned my back on my last shower. I complained about this sharp metal piece sticking out from my bed that cut both of my legs. I was told "that's what happens when we don't update our rooms like the competition". I could see her pain and dropped it. Not her fault. The extra star is for the restaurant. Wish I remember the staffs names as they were all great. Good food, lots of options and while dated, it was very clean. read more

Eh. Really average hotel stay overall. Landed in Anchorage ~8 am and called to ask about early check in but was told the earliest was 3 pm (for spire members too). Sure, I can understand if they're fully booked out then there's no space... but this was a Tuesday night. Something seemed off. So, naturally, I arrived to the hotel at noon via their complimentary shuttle (bonus points there) and they had space and I was able to check it. Alright. So much for being fully booked. Check in was smooth but 0 acknowledgement of spire membership unfortunately. Don't think I got any room upgrades either... unsure. Room was ok at best. The blankets are completely inadequate. The restaurant's food was almost inedible. I ordered a steak, medium and it wasn't just well done, it was cooked to a dry, gray color. The roasted potatoes didn't even have salt and pepper on them and the Demi Glaze was tasteless. There is an overall strange smell and the hallway to our room was freezing. The first room they gave us wasn't even serviced yet. They did change our room when we told them the issue. The good, they quickly fixed the issue with our first room. The room itself is nice enough. The pillows are actually good, which is a nice change. The shower has good water pressure and temperature. read more

This used to be a great hotel, but it's gone downhill quite a bit. My daughter and I stayed there the other night. As soon as my daughter crawled into bed, she turned to me and asked, "Dad, can you smell the blanket?" To my dismay, the blanket indeed had a distinct vomit-like odor. Needless to say, it was quite unpleasant. Given the premium price charged, one would expect clean and fresh blankets. read more

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights while I was in town for work. 3 days in a row I told them the tv did not work. On the 4th day a maintenance person came and tried to fix it but stated he couldn't because the TV's were old. He brought me a new remote but it did nothing. Very disappointed. For $150 a night I would expect a working TV. read more

I have been here a few times for seminars held in conference rooms and to visit friends who stayed here while on business. The service for the conference rooms are always steady and unobtrusive, though this last time the water tasted dusty. Weird, right? The conference room is okay. Nothing fancy. Food appears to be made here as a catered event and it was well rounded. Salad to start and dessert to end with. Everything in the middle is quite generic, though decent tasting. Rooms seemed nice and clean, and very comfortable. Would recommend for people to stay. I would come again for another seminar, though I've attended better conference rooms elsewhere... read more

Stayed overnight after long flight from Chicago. Arrived late around 9:30pm. Restaurant only open until 10:00. There was only one person that took my order to go. Waited 1/2 hrs. for food. Not impressed. In the a.m. ate breakfast at restaurant.. was 20.00 for breakfast buffet. Good food but had to hunt to find a person to pay my bill. We really enjoyed our stay here! This review is a little late, since we stated here a little over a month ago. The bed was really comfy and we both had a great night sleep. The lounge area is really nice and they have plenty of seating. They have a pool and a restaurant, which is nice and convenient. The room was really clean. If you have IHG Platinum status, you will also have great perks while staying at this hotel such as free continental breakfast, access to the club lounge, and one free drink ticket. This was a nice perk that we weren't expecting when arriving here. The restaurant is really nice and spacious. They have plenty of options on the menu and plenty of seating at both the bar as well as at tables. The continental breakfast was great and they had lots of options to choose from and the staff provided great service. The hotel is not within walking distance to a lot of things, although if you have a car it's about 5-10 minutes to the downtown Anchorage area. If you don't have a car, it's a short Uber/Lyft ride to get to places you want to go. We also visited this hotel during a major heat wave and were really excited that this hotel had air conditioning since many hotels in Alaska don't have air conditioning. I'm from Anchorage and get this room so the kids can go swimming. I call before I check-in and ask about their pool.. They tell me yeah its open until 11pm. I check in and ask about the pool and dude says yeah its open until 11pm. The kids and I throw our stuff off and head down to the pool. Big sign says closed for maintenance.. Really.. Come one the people working there should communicate better. We will not go back, there are plenty hotels in town with swimming pools. The pool there is small and only 5 feet deep. Enjoy my money.. Checked in on July 10, 2023, was given a room but we did not go in it until 2 hours later after dinner. When we got to the room we found a large (24 inches across) urine stain in the middle of the floor. Went down to the front desk and requested another room. They gave us a different room. checked out after on day, because we went to Seward for 4 days. We checked in again on July 14. We were given a room and stayed for 30 minutes, then went to dinner. We came back about 2 hours later and noticed the towels we used in the bathroom were refolded and the bathroom reeked of a funky smell and smelling of urine. My wife also discovered that someone had rummaged through her purse. We reported this to the front desk and got another room. We also asked the lady at the front desk to look at the security camera to see who had been in our room. She said that she had asked housekeeping who said no one had been in our room. Does housekeeping have control over the security cameras? I feel real unsafe staying here. Had a reservation for four days, but I am checking out tomorrow. I have used this hotel chain many times and I loved them. But not this particular hotel. read more

This is a very fine hotel and that's especially true if you are a Priority Club member. As it's free to join so, if you are thinking of staying here, join online first. Why you ask? Read on. A Crowne Plaza is at the top of the IHG suite of brands. This particular location is less than four years old so the property looks great. The atmosphere is modern and bright and airy. I spent many days here over two weeks and throughout my stay I found the customer service to be great. That includes everyone from the front desk to the bartenders to the wait staff. The rooms are very nice, spotless, and the beds are extremely comfortable. If you are a Priority Club member you will be on a restricted floor with keycard access. In addition, every night you will enjoy two hours of free drinks and light hors d'oeuvres! It doesn't get much better than that! Wait; it does. You also get free breakfast! This location is about three miles outside of town and it's a straight shot directly into the city. It's also very easy to get to the airport. Parking is free. If I visited Anchorage again I'd stay here in a heartbeat. read more

This review is for the hotel restaurant "Juno" only. We stopped by last week for an early-ish, mid-week dinner. The restaurant wasn't very busy, there were more people in the bar area which has tv's and is nicely sectioned off from the main dining room area. The restaurant is "seat yourself" but they do have a hostess podium I'm guessing for those busier nights or when they've got a dinner special or special event going on. We walked in and found a seat and received a lukewarm greeting from our server. He did bring water & menus right away and then our drink order shortly after. The menu is all Alaskan themed, and has a good bit of seafood. We ordered a crab artichoke dip appetizer that comes with crusty baguette slices. It's very tasty and not like most of the crab artichoke dip you find at the chain restaurants. This dip you actually get a lot of crab and big chunks of artichoke with a bit of cheese melted through. I usually expect pulverized crab & artichokes mixed in a ridiculous heap of greasy cheese from the chain restaurants. For my meal I ordered the blackened halibut tacos and my husband had the cedar plank salmon. The halibut tacos were great. Two tacos come in flour tortillas with lettuce, seasoned (not breaded!) halibut, a little cheese and topped with a fresh pico sauce. Cocktail sauce and sour cream on the side. I also had the yummy yummy cinnamon-sugar sweet potato fries. YUM. My husbands salmon was amazingly moist & tender and came with tasty garlic mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. (I sampled everything!) We'll go there again and hope for a different waiter. He really had no personality and seemed bored. read more

The stay was fine, nothing special. What I'm most upset about is that I left a pair of expensive boots behind by accident, yes my fault, but I called and left a message with their housekeeping the day I left to call me back after checking lost and found. No call back so when we drove back to anchorage before I flew out, I stopped by the hotel to talk to them in person. They then said housekeeping leaves at 5 and would have to take my name and number and call my boyfriend who was staying a few more days in Anchorage. Well he went there the next day after we did not receive a call again and they for the third time said they will need to contact housekeeping and will call him back. This is HORRIBLE customer service. I understand you might be busy, but after attempting to get just an answer three times and you're still putting us off is extremely outlandish and down right wrong. I just need an answer if you have them or not! Super frustrated. read more

Well after looking at so many separate issues from other yelpers I wonder how is that my experience is so different. I thought the customer service was good. Room was clean and bed was super comfortable. The only complaint would be the airport fly over noise though that's not the hotel employees fault. It's not near any restaurants to walk to but the downtown is only 4-5miles driving. Didn't go to the restaurant or use pool, but I would recommend this hotel to other travelers. read more

Poor customer service. We book this hotel because it has a pool so my daughter and friend can have a fun girls night at a hotel. We book online assuring a pool and then talk about it when we are checking in. Go to our room get dressed up and come down to find the pool closed for maintenance which apparently had been the case for a week or so. If we had known we wouldn't have stayed. A simple notice online or when we were checking in would have been acceptable. When I bring this to the front desk they act confused and wander away. Finally they tell us we can go to another hotel to swim if we want. No offer of any measurable accommodation was made. "IHG points"... or muttering it was closed over and over. The staff appeared to not want to be there... When I said that it would be nice to hear an authentic, sincere 'we are sorry' it would be appreciated. I walked away and then the front desk guy yells across the lobby "when you calm down..." which really makes no sense or serves any purpose other than annoy me. If I go back to explain how that comes across to people I expect it appears that I wouldn't be "calmed down"... so I shake my head and continue to walk away from them. Bad service, poor customer engagement and complete insincerity, I'd avoid this place like the plague. There are other little hotels with a pool. read more

WARNING! SKETCHY. We had an employee stay here and his room was rummaged through and robbed by multiple hotel employees. They made an elaborate story of how emergency services had to enter his room for whatever reason and after he had requested proof and documentation, the woman broke down claiming she was just trying to provide for her family and that her and multiple managers had went in on this plan to rob him. We made a corporate complaint due to so many of the hotel staff being involved and nothing was handled. The police did nothing, and the corporate owners did nothing. Average hotel room. No housekeeping daily was a bummer. Wish I didn't have to call the front desk every day for fresh towels. Restaurant was surprisingly good. Pool was ok, bonus point for hot tub. Staff is incredibly accommodating. I've stayed here before and V usually checks me in and she's excellent. This time I stayed my wife booked the reservation the new guy Brian checked me in and helped me put my IHG number for the stay even if my wife booked it. I was very grateful and V trained him very well he was Friendly and even gave me a coupon to get a drink at their bar. Steve the bartender is a solid guy. Very knowledgeable of the area. Hotel could use a make over. Dull but great staff. Whoever does the hiring is finding quality people. I pray they're getting paid fair. read more

Juno restaurant offers breakfast, lunch or dinner with a delicious menu featuring both traditional American fare and regional Alaskan bistro items. I have found them to have the absolute best Seafood chowder around and as much as I have travelled, I have many chowders to compare it to and it's simply one of the best! Some of my favorite items on the menu are the Cedar Plank Salmon, Halibut Olympia, Alaskan Halibut Fish & Chips, Ribeye Steak and truly, all of their sandwiches, hamburgers and the Fish Tacos are astounding as well. For dessert, well, i have had and enjoyed the bread pudding most of all. The Juno lounge offers a wide selection of premium cocktails, a fantastic wine list and a variety of both draft and bottled beer. This place is supposed to be 3.5 stars but it's in comparison to the other hotels. They have a complimentary happy hour for those guests on the executive level. You pay up to $100/night extra to stay on this level and it's not worth it! The happy hour consists of basics spirits and coke, tonic, ginger ale, sprite and diet coke. And some craptastic leftovers or stuff they mixed together out of whatever was going to go bad. I asked the attendant what the pot stickers were made of and he said "vegetables" I said "are you sure?" (I'm allergic to pork) he shrugged his shoulders and said " I don't know". I asked him to find out and he just looked at me and repeated "I don't know". Perhaps he was too busy reading his newspaper and drinking coffee in the back. You can take the $100 extra and go to Orso, Simon and Seafort's or a local brewhouse for that amount. And still have some extra to replace that crappie breakfast buffet! I stayed here 4 nights on business. I am a gold IHG member and have stayed at the Holiday Inn express down the road, but this time I wanted better accommodations. The Holiday Inn Express (Spenard Road) is...let's say...rustic. I was very disappointed with this property and it certainly does not live up to the "Crowne Plaza" standard!! The room was worn out, dirty, dusty and dated. I kid you not, there was a pair of someone's socks left in the lamp shade to dry. The cleaning crew certainly needs to step up their game. The Juno restaurant food is standard fair, bland, over priced and very limited choices. The air traffic from ANC flies right overhead and will wake you up. The road noise from the major road out front will keep you awake as well. I truly expected a better accommodation from the property and will spend my money elsewhere in Anchorage. Holiday Inn (IHG) needs to offer something better here. $$$$ 261.00 bucks a night should get something better!! read more

I'm surprised by the low score this hotel is receiving. We've stayed at most of the hotels in Anchorage for at least a night, and I rate this hotel as one of the best in town. The room was very reasonable and well appointed. Many convenient power receptacles (none usb however). The bed was very comfortable and the whole room very clean. We enjoyed the Juno restaurant. The prime rib salad at $8 could have been a meal. The beer prices are high, but week drinks weren't. We didn't have a main entree (also spendy) but the chicken burger was perfect. The pool/ hot tub area isn't as big as a few, but it was very clean and comfortably warm! Tepid pool water is the worst. The CP isn't well located for downtown access or walking, but they have free shuttles for both the airport and downtown. Is this a 4+ resort hotel? No. Is it one if the nicest, newest, full- service hotels in Anchorage? Yes. I'm giving it five stars to counteract the low stars others have given it. read more

They were all very professional, friendly and left me with a positive impression of their hotel staff. I appreciate that the rate at this hotel was reasonable and the decor throughout the hotel was so nicely done from the front lobby to the rooms and the restaurant lounge areas also were of a modern decor that was classy yet simple. It was clean and really gave off a wow factor from the moment you walked in. Then the front desk checkin attendant was genuinely welcoming. There were many convenient luggage carts and I was greeted with a friendly thank you for being a frequent member of their hotels rewards program. Some hotels give you a small welcome package or item like a bottle of water with a thank you note attached for being a return loyal guest regardless of the level you are on their frequent stay program tbut this hotel didn't offer that to all their loyal club members only the top tier. The lack of a welcome gift or a free $1 bottle of water isn't a deal breaker to me. I accepted and paid the additional $20 to stay on the executive level which is the top floors (floors 5 & 6) On the sixth floor they have a club room as part of the $20 extra fee, it offers beverages and light food items from what I was told. But I never experienced it myself because of an issue that occurred. The primary reason I was willing to pay the additional $20 a night was because I wanted a room on the top floor to avoid hearing people walking above me as I frequently stay in hotels and I don't like hearing that all night. I was assigned the last room available on the sixth floor (the top floor) Only I soon found out it wasn't actually an available unoccupied room. Someone was already assigned to that room. I think perhaps my stay was just the perfect storm because I've never run across so many issues as I did at this hotel and it just became a list of "cons" as I took note of the stacking issues and came to the conclusion that this would simply not be a hotel I would stay at in the future. Allow me to explain. Upon check in I was given an occupied room, meaning someone was already staying in that room. I don't blame the front desk, that would probably be housekeepings error. I understand accidents happen but I couldn't help but to think what if someone was given the key to my room they could just take all of my belongings just as I could have taken all theirs. So I returned to the front desk to get another room. I specifically desired a room on the top floor so I wouldn't hear foot steps above me but there weren't any more rooms left on the top floor. I would have been assigned a room that I'd hear people above me on the 5th floor. I was willing to pay the $20 more per night but only to be on the top floor to avoid additional noise. Since it was no longer available I just went back to my original rate in a standard room that did not include the club room access. Although I don't blame the front desk for giving me an occupied room (I blame housekeeping ) either way it happened and it shouldn't have and it was an inconvenience and not the best way to start out my stay. This 2nd room ...I was assigned a room with an adjoining door even though I requested no adjoining door in my reservations. I could hear people below me talking clearly the walls in the hotel were just thin. I could also hear the cars on the road so my conclusion was that this hotel was not equip with quality walls that decrease sound. I could also hear a dog in a room near me barking for three hours. If you're a light sleeper the heater is loud. I ate dinner at the restaurant in the hotel the rib eye steak was great as well as the asparagus served with it however the mashed potatoes were not warm and they were dry. The service in the lounge was excellent. I was frequently checked on and the waitress was professional, cheerful and friendly. The parking was free as well as the wifi. There was a microwave and a mini fridge in the room as well as an iron and a flat screen tv. The cable channels were limited but I don't require a lot when it comes to the tv so it suited me fine. The location was close to the airport and that was helpful to me. It's not within walking distance to downtown, it's also not close to restaurants that you can walk to. However it's located on C Street so by taxi it's a straight drive down C Street to downtown. They have a computer room with two computers to use with printers attached. In the lobby there's also a small shop to buy snacks, beverages and postcards. I appreciate that it's clean and modern and the employees were nice but I could hear people walking above me, dog barking, cars on the road and last the heater. I will pay extra to stay at a different hotel. I do not recommend this hotel read more

I'm not sure why most of the reviews are about Juno when there is a Juno restaurant listed on Yelp. I am going back and forth between 2 stars and 4 stars. The good- I'm a platinum member for Holiday Inn properties and am treated very well at this place. The 6th floor lounge has a daily happy hour for the members with free drinks and food. They have a nice breakfast there as well, included. The staff are friendly when I arrive and the shuttle service has been more than kind to me when I needed to go out to get food. The Bad-I've stayed here several times and every time, until now, the rooms have been very clean. This trip, I checked in and went to my room and two times random people walked into my room which confused me and didn't thrill me. I went to take a shower and it was very dirty, which somehow grossed me out quickly. I tried to clean it and stopped myself. I went to the front desk and the lady there was very helpful and put me in the room across from my current room so it was easy to deal with my luggage. Room clean? well sort of. In general yes but I open the refrigerator and see a 1/2 empty juice box with straw in tact and a tray of burritos. So, I 'm going to have to say this room is clean enough for this trip. I will stay here in the future but am a bit disappointed with the cleaning. read more

Really great food- had the seafood chowder, which had bacon in it (delish), crab and artichoke dip (the bread was so good) and steak bites which were ok. My husband had the captains seafood platter. The fried halibut was the best I've had in a long time. The only thing I didn't like was that you had to seat yourself and there was no visible staff. I should have looked at the yelp reviews before booking but I booked my room strictly on price through Travelocity. If I would have known I would have made a different choice on where i stayed. I didn't join the membership other reviewers mentioned...and i understand the perks only come after reaching status. Even without being a member, the basics of any decent hotel is to provide coffee and water in the front lobby. Every other hotel that I have stayed at in anchorage provides this. It is pennies to provide this service. It is either laziness or short sightedness. Maybe they provide free coffee on the preferred floors? Basically if you don't have preferred status at this hotel...you can basically expect absolutely nothing extra. They don't even provide ketchup in the buffet line...had to ask for it. Service at front counter was nothing exceptional, wait staff at breakfast seemed to be understaffed and haggard, room is ok, free wifi was good. BUT, I will prefer to stay at the courtyard marriott or the hilton garden inns next time. The hilton garden inn even provided cookies all throughout the day. Staying at the crowne plaza was pretty much like staying at an extended stay hotel...nothing extra. read more
