My brother had a stroke three weeks ago. He has been on the second floor icu, the fifth floor icu…read moreand now he is on the 9th floor. On each of these floors the nurses have been compssionate, caring and attentive. They are knowledgeable about my brother's condition and have alerted his doctors when they have been concerned about changes in his condition. My family is grateful for their dedication and expertise and all they continue to do on my brother's behalf. I appreciate the kindness I have received from the people in the lobby who conduct the visitor checkin to all of the people who have cared for him on the respective floors he has been on. Last December my mother was admitted to McLaren for a weeks stay. The people who cared for her were also knowledgeable and caring. They assisted us in finding hospice care for her at the end of her weeks stay. The monthly, follow up grief support that they have provided to me and my family has been helpful. We are grateful for the expertise and efforts of the people we have encountered here especially in light of the challenges of COVID and other challenges health care workers face on a daily basis. After about an hour a nurse open the door and said who put you in here. I told her we were supposed to be seeing the doctor. She said I'll check and she left. And while we're sitting waiting for the doctor, we hesr them calling his name out in the waiting room. A little while later a male open the door and said oops, closed it and left. Then a while later another male open the door and said something and started to close the door and leave. I called him back and ask what was going on. We had been there 3 hours and hadn't seen the doctor. He came in and asked my husband's name. Checked the computer and ssid he was the one who was to see him. He ordered blood work and we had to wait another 2 hours to have a 2nd draw. He should have had his enzymes checked when he first got here. Waiting 3 hours before having them check won't let you know how they were when he first arrived. I apologize for putting this review on the McLaren hospital in Pontiac. That was an error. We were at the one in Flint.
